Hey friends- I've been through 5 visits with my dietician and have my last one scheduled for February 20th (lost 30 pds. so far). I've already completed my psych evaluation and sleep apnea evaluation. What happens when I'm finished with my last visit? Do they submit it to insurance? Hello all!!! I am currently working on completing all the requirements for BCBS DS weight loss surgery. I've completed 5/6 monthly dietician visits, the psych consult and so far have lost 23 pounds. I started at 433lbs. I'm nervous about the insurance process. What if they don't approve the DS and I've gone through all of this for nothing? Hey all- I am super new to BP, and am waiting for my first surgical consult. I know that BP/DS and gastric bypass have a good track record with those who have more than 100lbs to lose, but I'm looking for your feedback. If you were super obese, what procedures have you all had success with? Other than sleep apnea and borderline high blood pressure, I'm in fairly good health. 34 years old, 437lbs and a BMI of 65. Hey everyone: i am in the very early stages of my weight loss journey and I have been referred to a surgeon. What I'm afraid of though is my weight is 437lbs, with a BMI of 65. From the research I've done, it looks like I would need to lose a significant amount of weight before they would even do surgery. Is this accurate? Was anyone at this BMI prior to surgery?

Thank you all for your feedback and welcoming messages! I have been obese since childhood, so I feel like just arriving at the decision to have weight loss surgery is a big deal![emoji52]. I have spoken with insurance (BCBS of MN)and they require that I meet a whole list of criteria, which I was expecting. I already meet the obesity requirements, but they require 6 nutrition, MD supervised visits for 6 months, a psych consult and other bariatric program requirements.
