I agree - I love making ravioli now - don't think I could buy them again. I love how delicate they seem by using the wonton wrappers. I have missed posting these last couple days, it has probably saved me from some embaressment with my intake though - Sounds like I'm not alone - NO satisfaction in the failing of others (I"M SERIOUS!) but your timing has coincidently given me the realization that others are right where I am. I'm going to do my best to be good this week - now I do realize that this might be a hard week for that but I have to work Thanksgiving so it shouldn't be too bad. Luluc - Did you end up trying the ravioli - I did with a few additions (I'm never good at following a recipe) I added more cranberry sauce and some leftover ricotta and bechamel sauce (I made a lasagna for a sick friend) I also added some mashed sweet potato. For the gravy I added some of the cranbery sauce and a little madeira - they ended up very good. Definitely more of a Thanksgiving Ravioli - I bought a whole lb of the ground turkey and used the rest for the following recipe that I scaled down: www. rachaelrayshow.com/food/recipes/turkey-stuffin-meatloaf-scallion-mashedpotatoes-gravy I did add more of the stuffing though - that is my favorite part of the meal and I didn't think I was going to be able to enjoy it post band - in this recipe I didn't have a single problem and it tasted really good - and I have never liked meatloaf. (I only made the meatloaf part of the recipe. Yesterday: B: 3/4 sm. cinnamon roll S: tastes of different recipes I was making L: 3 turkey / cranberry ravioli S: fun size peanut butter m&ms D: 1/2 c. turkey / stuffing meatloaf S: 1/2 small cinnamon roll I appreciate your patience in my long posting !

Single, 32, no kids, anyone else like me to buddy with?
kcmagu replied to LisaFromCali's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Lisa - My name is Dana, 33, single, no kids except my 3 animals + 1 (I rescued an ancient Golden Retriever who is completely blind on friday - he was running around in the middle of an intersection - still looking for his owner) I was born in Vacaville, CAlifornia but now live in Kansas City, MO. I was banded in April of this year. -

Being someone who truly loves food (creating, eating, sharing, discovering) I have never minded spending money on good food. Although the price tag is sometimes very high - I am definitely enjoying getting 3-4 meals out of an entree  (my friends were a little jealous)

I agree soups , stews and chilis are great. I also make homemade meatballs and vacuum seal them in 3-5 meatball portions. I make chilaquiles which is a layered mexican casserole and have both baked it whole then divy it up into 6-7 oz containers and have recently started baking it in the same size containers. (I will sometimes take one of the small mexican casseroles and put into a slightly bigger container put a small slice of either mexican velveeta or shredded cheese on top and cover it with 1/3-1/2 c. chicken broth and microwave I end up with a really thick creamy mexican soup. I bought a braised beef dinner from dream dinners and vacuum sealed little 4 oz bags of the shredded meat (made my own bags with the sealer) then did the same with some mashed potatoes (froze the taters in the bags prior to sealing them) I also make a baked parmessan chicken with thin small chicken breasts and vaccum seal them individually then when I pull one out I also grab a mini container of either marinara, light alfredo or pesto.

I forgot one thing - wish I could find an alternate way to get echinaccea (I swear by it during cold season - I'll take it 3 x day if I'm sick or around people who are sick and I rarely get sick or if I do it's short term) Anybody heard of a chewable or other high dose form of echinaccea?

I was eating the centrum chewables in addition to a chewable vit C and chewable calcium. I was choking them down and then I noticed (maybe pretended not to) that I had stopped taking them for almost 2 months. I now take the adult gummy vitamins (also purchased from target) and alternate them with the viactiv multivitamin chews, I also take a viactiv calcium chew. I'm with little froggy - I know I take in more sugar than I should but I have gone 3 weeks and maybe only missed 1 day a week. They actually taste really good and I pack a little container with them every day and wait to take them until that first time I start to feel hungry and make sure I chew them well - haven't had a problem yet.

Yesterday: B: Nothing S: 1/2 snack size hersheys chocolate bar w/ almonds, 3 ritz crackers w/ crab spread on them. L: 1/2 grilled cheese w/ 1/3 c. vegetarian chili S: 2 multigrain crackers w/ crab spread on them D: 1/2 c. mushroom & wild rice soup, 1/3 c. mashed potatoes & gravy Dessert: kit kat bar (last one of those in house ) - maybe if I had breakfast I wouldn't have had this. odd - I've been experiencing some chest pain (right of the sternum but high) I think it's associated w/ band b/c it's similar to where I feel something if I get stuck (but not exactly) it's transient (never more than 5-8 sec) and not associated w/ eating and I don't think it's due to being tight b/c I can certainly still eat plenty of food. My monthly dr's appt is today so I'll bring it up - just weird!

Ok so I really have no idea how much I ate yesterday - NOT the way to be - but let me explain. I went to bed at 0930 after getting off work, only slept for 2.5 hours before getting up at noon and started prepping for a big party I was co-hosting. I know I had 1 slice of havarti cheese at 1230 and a lowfat string cheese and hershey snack size chocolate bar around 2:30. Other than that I picked and later grazed while I made the food and then enjoyed the party through the night on sweet & sour meatballs, mushroom & havarti turnovers, spinach dip, smoked salmon spread, mexican layer dip, random snack mix and halloween candy. I know I didn't eat a lot but with the picking/grazing I know I never felt full so more went in than should of - that's for sure! Oh dang it! I forgot the several glasses of moscato :cool2: Oh well - at least I feel a little better (convicted might be a better word) having written it down.

My current favorite is 3 oz greek yogurt sweetened with 2 packets splenda on top of 1.3 oz (half of a prepackaged single serving) of kashi go lean crunch cereal with 1/3 cup of some kind of berries - currently blueberries. I swear the Kashi GO Lean Crunch cereal tastes kind of like a cross between honey smacks and apple cinnamon cherrios.
