Four Days Post-Op
CJ Sunshine replied to LillieDuFran's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
OMG...all I did was sleep the first week post op. The second week, I got by on one nap a day. Three weeks out, still tired, but functioning. It seems to be getting better every week as my body continues to heal and I am starting to eat just a wee bit more. Just focus on water and protein, in between napping...you'll be over this part soon. -
One Year: My JEANS JOURNEY! (Pics)
CJ Sunshine replied to The New Kel's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
what a great visualization!!! Thanks for this morning's inspiration! -
First, let me say they were two tiny eggs, not like what you buy in the supermarket. I am three weeks out and thought it unlikely I could eat it all, which I couldn’t come close...but this is all new to me...I knew what I didn’t eat wouldn’t go to waste!
-
You are right. Taste is a matter of opinion. And I said it’s great if you like that but to ME they are vile. Not disputing that others are free to like them...just asking people not to tell me to.
-
Wow! And you had a DS?
-
Thanks! There is definitely no doubt my wife misses me cooking every night. This girl happens to be a really good cook. [emoji6]

When I was a kid, my parents owned a piece of property in upstate New York. The dairy farmer next-door used to mow our field for the hay and we used to get free milk.
-
$2 is a steal! I pay $6!!!
-
Ok folks...please stop telling me egg whites are better... I’m glad all of you like them but I think they are vile...and part of the benefit of having the DS is supposed to be that I don’t have to be hyper vigilant about the little bit of fat in an egg yolk, which is the part of the egg which contains all the micronutrients.
-
Actually, before my surgery, I made a big pot of stew and spaghetti sauce and then froze them in individual vacuum sealed bags that she could just boil...I’m planning on puréeing the stew for dinner tonight!!
-
Haha! All I’d made her for dinner was two eggs with a tiny bit of ham in it. I knew it wasn’t enough food for her! I expected her to eat at least part of my eggs. She was just happy I’d cooked even if just that. Poor thing has been living on lean cuisine meals since my surgery because I’m the family cook and I refuse to cook what I can’t eat (and she has no expectation it should be otherwise).

I picked the 2 smallest eggs in the container...when you buy farm fresh they are all different sizes...I ate what felt comfortable and stopped, even though my head said that can’t really be all you are going to eat! My wife finished the rest. If she didn’t want it I would just give it to the dog.

Today I went for my three week postop visit with my surgeon. He is very pleased with my recovery and says I’m perfectly on target, as well as my 25 pound weight loss since 9/14! I have now been cleared to advance to the purée stage which includes eggs, cottage cheese and other yummy things. I’m very excited. But most exciting is that since I’m getting all my water in easily, I have permission to drink up to 2 cups of coffee each day!! Oh, how I have missed coffee!
-
But except for protein, all the nutrients are in the yolks! That’s why I buy farm fresh eggs with those gorgeous orange yolks! Not to mention I think egg whites alone are gross...my tummy is adapting...not feeling as full now...
-
I came home and had a half a cup of cottage cheese, which is something I actually really enjoy. Now I’m going to make a scrambled egg for dinner! The cottage cheese sat well. Fingers crossed for the egg!!
-
Thanks! I thought that might be the case.
-
I love that...george of the jungle!! I may have to name mine too!!
-
How far out are you?
-
LOL! Way to find a silver lining! I didn't have a problem when I was eating one shake a day before surgery....things have calmed down considerably since the original post...although I still have quite a bit of gas and it's still pretty bad but either it is less awful or I've become used to the new smell...guess You'd have to ask my wife! I'm sure it will change again as I reintroduce food to my system but whether it will get better or worse remains to be seen!
-
Haha! Yes. It does feel good when it releases!

Should I be concerned? Incisions...
CJ Sunshine replied to SIPS in Seattle's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I'm glad it is progressing in the right direction! -
I'm on day 10 of my post-op liquid diet and "eating" has become a chore. It isn't that I crave anything...I'm just so sick of broth, yogurt, shake, jello....repeat. I don't enjoy any of it anymore...I tolerate it..barely. I'd rather not eat, but I know that's not an option. I am not allowed even thin purees for 11 more days. Ugh!

Hey, how are those incisions doing? -
I've got one more week to purees...but I understand what you mean about not wanting it. I have never, in my life, had so little interest in food. I have always been the kind of person who could eat through anything...I never lost my appetite....but these last two weeks, I'm never hungry

No beans on a liquid diet.
