What medicine were you put on if you were diagnosed with depression??
-
So for those that had the hiatal hernia repair definitely know what I’m talking about, after surgery when you drank something it would feel like it would get stuck for a second then go down all while being painful. Well I had surgery almost 7 weeks ago and I was doing fine, pretty much no pain at all while eating or drinking but it seems like out of no where I’m starting to have pain again while drinking and eating. I know that I’m not eating/drinking more or taking bigger bites so I’m not sure why the pain would come back. Anybody have a clue?

I’m 7 weeks post op and starting about 3 days ago I’ve had really bad nausea, no matter what I eat or drink I get nauseous and even if I don’t eat or drink I get nauseous. I am on a PPI, I have no gallbladder pain and I’ve thrown up twice but nothing really came up. I’m going to get a hold of the dietician tomorrow but I’m wondering if this has happened to anyone else?

I work in an assisted living facility for the elderly, I help with showers, trash and making beds I don’t really lift anything heavy but I’m on my feet almost the whole shift(8 hrs) I took off two weeks and I’m still tired at work during the day but I wasn’t sore or anything, I was put on lifting restrictions for 3 weeks, nothing over 25 lbs -
Yes I take 40 mg of omeprazole every morning

When can I start working out ?
mpolyard replied to LeezaSleeved's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I recommend listening to Dr Duc C. Vuong's video on why not to exercise for at least 6 months. I've decided to wait that long because it makes A LOT of sense, it's a long video but at least watch the first 15 minutes of it. -
I've had the paragard IUD for a little over 2 years, I haven't had any problems with it this whole time. My first period after surgery was about a week after getting sleeved and it was like it has as always been, nothing out of the ordinary and after my cycle was over I checked my strings before me and hubby did it and I noticed I could feel the bottom part of my IUD coming out of my cervix [emoji30]. Has anyone had any problems like this or am I one of the unlucky few? Do you think it could be from rapid weight loss and the hormones or maybe from surgery with them blowing up the abdomen with gas? I don't know but anyways I'm getting it taken out tomorrow and having another put in, I'm dreading it because I know how painful it is and I haven't had kids before.

So this is weird, not sure if anyone else has gone through this but it's gotten to the point of when I eat and I chew and chew and chew that the taste and texture is so off putting that I don't even want to swallow the food, most of the time I will just spit it out because I can't make myself swallow it.

Not feeling like swallowing the food

Glad I'm not the only one -
I was self paying so that's always faster, when I had my initial consult they also did the cardiac testing, diet consult and I did psych eval on the phone so once everything was cleared which took about a week they called the next day and scheduled surgery so from initial consult to surgery was almost 4 weeks

Yesterday I went to the gyno, she looked and said it was just the strings that I was feeling because they were coarse, but I just didn't think that was it, I knew what I was feeling and knew that it wasn't just the strings. She did mention the strings were long so she trimmed them and then instead of just looking she felt what I could feel and realized I guess there was some mucus on the end and I was right the whole time, my IUD really had moved just enough to where I could feel the bottom tip, I bet she felt dumb, she didn't mean to but she made me feel like I didn't know what I was talking about. All in all she was really nice, she was the doctor that put it in the first place, so we took that IUD out and put a new one in and I'm all good to go now!

I had surgery on the 9th, just started mushy/solid foods a couple days ago, I like to put what I'm about to eat into a 1/4 of a cup and eat from that, some foods I feel full some I don't and I feel like I could eat more but I give it about 10 minutes to settle then I'm full and glad I didn't take another bite, when I'm full I get a heavy feeling in my stomach and I've noticed I get hiccups too, I feel like if I were to take another bite I might throw it up but that's just me. I could still be swollen and that's why I feel that way.

No Seminar - Vitamins - Ocean/Swim - 9 days post: HELP
mpolyard replied to AlabamaSleeve's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was told no submersion for 6 weeks, but I feel like if you found a clear patch to keep water from getting to the incisions it would be ok, I would just be careful because the ocean is unforgiving and could easily push you around and you might strain to hard trying to keep upright in the water. That would be hard for me because I love the ocean and swimming. -
I was sleeved 8/9 and I have been sleeping in the bed any position except on my stomach since 8 days post op, I still have a little pain where they took the stomach out. Taking Tylenol pm helped a lot or taking the RX pain medicine a few hrs before bed then at bedtime taking half a dose of OTC sleep aid

I'm pretty embarrassed of myself, I've been home for 6 days since surgery and I'm feeling like I'm getting severally dehydrated, over those 6 days I've drank less than 20 oz a day, yesterday I felt horrible and decided that if I felt the same today I would go to urgent care and get some IV fluids but I felt better today but still no where near 30 oz of fluid. My urine output is getting less and the last time I checked the color was teetering between dark orange and brown, my skin is dry and I'm weak and get tired and winded easy which is not normal for me, also my mouth is very dry. Do you think if I drank more water I could get this under control or should I get some IV fluids, school starts next week and I'm afraid that if I go to the doctor and something is seriously wrong they will put me in he hospital and I don't have time or money for it. I feel the reason I'm not drinking enough is out of habit having to constantly sip water plus it's still painful to when it hits my stomach even with tramadol.

Just about every time I take a drink of anything(water, G2, broth, creamed soup, jello), I've tried small sips and slightly bigger ones and it still happens and I try not to swallow air which I don't think I do anyways, I get a horrible pain when it hits the stomach, it feels like it gets stuck and then it goes down, the pain sometimes is so bad it radiates to my back. I did have a hiatal hernia repair during the vsg surgery and my follow up is tomorrow with my surgeon so I will talk about it with him then but I was wondering if anyone one else had this problem 9 days post op? Oh and I do take 100mg of tramadol and it doesn't do anything to the pain.

Pain when taking in liquids
mpolyard replied to mpolyard's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So I saw my surgeon today, he said it was normal and it will take maybe a week to get better, everyone is different. I do have to say today was a lot better in regards to getting fluids down and not having pain! -
Well I decide to go to urgent care this morning, they ran labs and said they were all normal it I'm kind of surprised about that, but that's good that they were fine. They did give me a bag of IV fluids while there and I feel a lot better.
