August Sleevers-How are you doing??
fight2gethealthy replied to Ash_Bri85's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
@soready17 i feel your pain i self sabotage too. I haven't lost any weight since 9/26 down a total of 39 lbs only 14 since surgery on 8/11. Starting weight 256.6 in November 2016. I have been eating chips (not many like 3 or 4) and cake (like 3 oz) not a lot but I know I shouldn't! So please don't shame me I'm already shaming myself for being stupid... anyways I don't get sick when I eat these things and they are part of the old me which I cant seem to get rid off. At first when I started drinking and eating and I felt zero restriction/pain/sickness I thought surgery had failed... but my dr assumers me I'm doing well. Trying out hey back on track -
Band to sleeve success stories, please.

Hello I had the band put in in 2007 and it worked until I got pregnant and I had morning sickness which dialated my stomach after I had the baby I kept trying to loose the 20 lbs I had gained from pregnancy which I failed to do and gained more back. I was down almost 100lbs with the band in 3 years... I gained 75 back. During the last 7 years I have struggled to loose the lbs. I tried every diet under the sun to loose 20lbs but to gain them back up. I did go back to the surgeon to get a fill which they did but the band still wasn't working. I was always hungry and I didn't feel the restriction... so after 10 years I got a revision it took some time and the insurance originally denied the revision saying that the reason the band failed was because i was an over eater! Duh! Aren't most of us.. anywho after my Dr called my insurance I got approved. I'm 5 weeks out and have only lost 11lbs I guess I'm a slow looser or the statistics are right. I don't feel the fullness feeling most sleevers feel I measure my food and only eat what's on my plate. I can drink over 100oz of liquids and I do reach my protein goal. Sometimes I wish I had I the issues most of the sleevers have. I can probably eat 6 or more oz if I didnt stop or measure your food 😓 -

@Kimmerann I feel the same... I eat about 800 calories per day but 4 weeks out I feel hungry but I only eat a little bit each time... some days are better than others all we can do is keep going this is a tool not a solution. I too am jealous of those who are not hungry but I'm also thankful that I can drink without getting sick and I do consuming over 100 oz of liquids daily. My dr said not to drink 30 mins before or after and it's hard so if I feel thirsty or something is a little spicy I sip a little but not drink drink. Good luck to all of you... this is all new and as long as we do our best we will be successful -

hi Everyone... and welcome to the losers bench... i had VSG on 8/11/17. It was a revision from a 2007 Lapband which after 4 years stopped working (shhhh no one knows). No one knows about my VSG either except my hubby and mom.... i don't want to hear negative things... Anyways after 6 years of trying to do it all on my own and failing each time i decided to go under the knife again... i'm almost 4 weeks out... i feel great... no issues with me thank God. I can drink over 100 oz of liquid and maybe eat 5 or 6 oz... which i don't. i'm so scared of stretching myself out. Every time i'm doubting myself i come into the forums to see if someone else has the same questions/issues... In 2007 there really wasn't much information on anything or maybe i just didn't look. i was scare to share my experience and i didn't want people to know i had chosen the "easy" way out. it took me 3 years to loose almost 100 lbs only to fail myself again... but now as i'm older and hopefully wiser i will re train myself so i can succeed -
How Much Liquids Is Too Much?
fight2gethealthy replied to innerme's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hello everyone... I had VSG on 8/11/17. I had a revision from a lapband (shhh no one knows) that slipped and stopped working... so 10 years later i went back into surgery to get VSG... i was so scared when i got home and i was able to drink so much liquid, over 100 oz per day. Second week i felt head hunger i think... today has been bad... i fell very physically hungry. at noon i ate 1/2 a salmon and spicy tuna hand roll, should have weighted to see how many oz but i didn't and at 3 i had 3 oz of salmon and mashed potatoes... but i still feel hungry. I'm scare of failing again... i'm scare of stretching my sleeve after going through the pain and stigma. Anyways to all of you who are struggling please know that you are not alone... we all question and second guess ourselves based on others experiences... i'm trying to stay on track and just do what feel right for me.
