    Anyone scheduled for september

I went and bought a really nice leather bound journal that I can carry with me everywhere. I wanted something that was just personal for me. I'm about able to write all my stats down and also keep up with my food.
  2. Would love to join the group just can't find it.

    Anyone scheduled for september

Sept 11th is my day! I saw someone posted about a journal. I am keeping one for myself. Went and got a really pretty leather bound journal that I can tote with me to my dr visits, surgery, and beyond. Figured I would write what I'm feeling, stats, and also use it as a food journal. I am having to do a low carb preop diet. So keeping track of my preop diet will keep me focused and keep my eye on the prize. Good luck to all of us sept sleevers!!!!

    Changing jobs

Not sure on the insurance aspect. I would assume that if insurance doesn't change then that wouldn't be a problem. But I am a hiring manager and the more up front and honest you are with whomever is doing your interview the more they will like you. Just tell them the situation.

    Any Sleevers in MISSISSIPPI???

My insurance is covering the surgery. I originally did the seminar at merit and that is when I found out insurance didn't cover it there. We go through BCBS of IL and the only way they cover it is by me going through a blue destination center. And there isn't one located in MS. To quit smoking a used Chantix. And it was a requirement by my surgeon. I had to do nicotine urine test for 3 months to prove I wasn't smoking. My doc has only had 3 complications out of 1000 surgeries and those 3 people were smokers. No cold turkey and no vaping. They were pretty adamant about no vaping. I think it's because there is still nicotine in he vape stuff. Because of my insurance I didn't have to pay for Chantic and my husband didn't have to pay for Zyban.

    Any Sleevers in MISSISSIPPI???

Hey I'm in the Jackson area and I am getting sleeved on Sept 11th. My process has been super easy. I went to river oaks in Flowood for my orientation. I have good insurance but am having to have surgery in Monroe. Let me know if I can help with anything or if you wanna chat about it.
  7. Got my surgery date yesterday and am super excited. Dr. Sartor seems like a really great guy and also not to shabby to look at. But I'm just wondering if anyone got sleeved by him and could tell me their experience.

    Bcbs insurance anyone?

I have BCBS of IL and my plan pays 100%. Had a verbal approval within a few hours and maybe 2 weeks for the written approval. Only requirement was that I needed to have surgery at a blue distinction center. Which there isn't one in my state. So surgery will be 2 hours away. No biggie. Gonna get a hotel night before. Have a $1000 deductible and I met that already. I had my consultation on May 4th and have my surgery set for Sept 11th.
  9. Do you have sleep apnea? I have sever sleep apnea, diagnosed with PCOS, & I was seeing a neurologist but I'm deathly afraid of a MRI machine so I didn't get a written diagnosis for pseudotumor cerebra. Because he didn't have a clear scan I never got a written diagnosis just a verbal. My nurse practitioner who I see for cholesterol is actually the one to recommend VSG. I have insurance through BCBS of IL and I didn't have any requirements except that I had to have surgery at a blue distinction center. And of course there isn't one located in my state. My consult was on May4th. Had to do 3 months no smoking per the surgeon. And got my surgery set for Sept 11th. And my insurance is fully covering it. Maybe try going through your OBGYN and see if she/he will recommend it. Just by being obese, having sleep apnea, and PCOSi didn't even need the neuron diagnosis. Good luck to you!

    Different Pre Op

My surgeon only requires a 2 week low carb diet. But I did have to go 3 months no smoking. And yes there is a urine test for that. Sucked but I did it and got my surgery date for sept 11.

    Care First BCBS of VA

I have BCBS of IL and I live in MS and I have no wait. The only requirement was that I use a blue distinction center. And the closes one to me is 2 hours away in Monroe, LA. There is not one located in my state. My VSG will be completely covered through BCBS. Went to my consult in May 2017. Had to go 3 months no smoking. And now my surgery is scheduled for Sept. 11th.
