    What are you eating

I'm not sure what your stage 2 diet allows, but I ate a lot of greek yogurt, cottage cheese, protein shakes and strained or creamed soups...
  2. No vomiting yet, nauseous a couple times (prob from my vitamin). I have heard of people eating too much and needing to vomit and advancing their diet too fast which can upset the stomach. Vomiting definitely should not be a "regular" part of being sleeved.

    Need typical day menu

I’m 6 weeks out: breakfast: 2 eggs, tablespoon feta, 1/4 c fresh spinach cooked into omelette snack: Greek yogurt snack: latte lunch: 2oz chicken salad snack: string cheese dinner: chili or other protein dense soup snack: applesauce sometimes cottage cheese instead of yogurt or sub breakfast for a protein shake (rarely). But i’ve been eating very similar to this since 1 week out. Usually get about 800-900 cal.
  4. I am a veterinary nurse, not quite the same, but I am on my feet all day and doing physical patient care. I went back after 2 weeks, I wish I had taken 3. Felt OK after 2 weeks but non stop active days left me weak, depleted and a bit sore, felt much better the 3rd week. I'm a month out now and feel "normal", as if i've never had surgery. Good luck to you!

    NOT LOOSING WEIGHT

Give your body a little time to heal. My weight loss was very slow to non existent through my 2nd week..it seemed impossible given the calories I was eating. But after that it picked back up, still do sit at the same weight for 3-4 days then drop. Hang in there, you will start losing...
  6. 1 month post op today, can't believe it's been a month already. 19lb down since sx and feeling good!
  7. Hey Staci, my surgery was 9/6, I'm eating all of the same things you are plus some pureed fruits, cooked soft mashed veggies like riced cauliflower, broccoli and spinach. I am allowed to have soft cereals and potatoes but I cut those out pre op and I'm hesitant to let them back in. Still usually have to have 1 protein shake, just so I'm not playing catch up with protein at the end of the day. Having the shake also gives me room to have the veggies and fruit, otherwise it would be protein all day long. My calories have been between 800-900, I wasn't given any calorie target but that seems to be where I land each day. Surgery weight was 230 and today I was at 211.8, so seem this works for me. Who would think scrambled eggs could be such a treat. Also, I log everything on my fitness pal, i'm a grazer so its easy for me to get carried away without realising it. I am eating 2oz of meat at a time. 1 egg fits nicely but i can get 2 down over about 40 mins. Veggies are usually in 1/2 c portions.

Wow! You look great! Our starting weights are very close so it's quite inspirational to see such a dramatic difference in a couple months...

    Need more protein in

My surgery was on sept 6th. I usually have 1 pre mixed protein shake in the am, Greek yogurt and cottage cheese during the day. Just those 3 almost get me to my goal. Chicken salad, a protein dense soup or a latte usually rounds out my day. I found that when I tried eating foods that were less protein dense or tried to drop the shake, I struggled to get to goal. I'm eating between 700- 800 cal a day.
  10. I brought a sleep mask, it ended up saving me since the pain meds made me crazy nauseous and light sensitive. Also chapstick... those were the 2 things I used the most. I also purchased a soft front closing bra..aka hammock. Could have actually just worn my regular underwire, my incisions were much lower and it didn't bother them at all.
  11. 2 weeks out and the brain fog has finally lifted. Have been eating between 700-800 cals, which seems like a lot compared to what I see others eating. I am consistently hungry every 2-3 hours. Staying on plan. Curious, was anyone given calorie parameters to stay within post op?

    I am bumming out

You may be sick of them now, but protein shakes are also an option. I am also in class/ labs and the protein shake has been a life saver bc they don't req refrigeration and you are not technically "eating" in class... Good luck to you!
  14. 8 days out here...still a little sore, but each day is better. I do get hungry but it is satisfied with a bite (or spoonful right now) of food.
  15. Hi Tpar09! I am 9 days out and post op can definitely be a bit of an emotional roller coaster. Day 5 for me felt like I turned a bit of a corner as far as feeling better and more like myself again. Honestly, each day has been a little better than the last. Like you, I have not told my family as I did not think they would be supportive but have told close friends. Hang in there there! Wishing you a speedy recovery and better days to come....

    September Surgery

A few of us on the 6th now! My surgeon says no pre-op diet is necessary, but seeing that just about everyone else is going to be on one makes me want to do it anyhow.
  19. Click on your screen name ( top right on my screen) and there should be a drop down menu..choose "My Surgery", you can change it there. Good Luck.
