Fantastic you look great, I though if you had lymphademia then your legs and ankles would always be swollen. I think I might have it but not sure, very encouraging to know that the swelling might go. Well done.

Alcohol! When did you first drink
Jeaniered replied to Supernovae's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was sleeved in August and regularly have a glass of wine or a gin and slimline tonic (much less calories). I don’t find any difference in the effect. I do have a problem eating, I can only eat about an ounce at a time and struggle to eat more than 800 calories a day, this is slowing down my loss as I’m not eating enough and mealtimes are a nightmare 😞 -
August Sleevers-How are you doing??
Jeaniered replied to Ash_Bri85's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Sleeved on 8th August, have lost 49 pounds but this last week, i have put on two, lost the 2, then put it Back on again!. However, the tape measure says I’m losing. I walk a mile a day and have started swimming. I struggle with the water, it gets me down. At the moment I hate meal times as I have no appetite and have to force myself to eat, and can’t find anything I really fancy except a Big Mac! Usually, after a couple of bites, I feel sick! Also if I do manage to eat too much then it makes me sneeze. 😂. I’m worried that the whole thing is taking over my life! And sometimes I regret it! But I do love the fact that I’m going down in dress sizes and feel a lot more energized. I’m too impatient, and worry all the time that I won’t lose anymore even though I know that’s crazy. My husband is brill anD keeps me motivated ❤️. -

Looking great - well done. Which part of your body do you find it hardest to lose from? Tummy, bum or thighs? Mine seems to be my thunder thighs 😂 -
I get head hungry but when it comes to actually eating something, one bite and I don’t like the taste or it fills me straight up! I can’t cheat even if I want to? I struggle all day to find something to eat that I will like, food is no longer the same to me, I miss it but its the price I have to pay!

The Good The Bad & The Nasty

I found this forum really useful and have already ordered some Atkins bars. But I do think it’s such a shame that some people have to use it as an opportunity to show off and criticize others! The sayings “live and let live” and “to each their own”. Springs to mind! -
I sneeze if I eat too much 😂

Surgery date: October 17...Is 1 day in the hospital enough?
Jeaniered replied to GeTnBackuP's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I had my op at 8 pm, they got me up walking at 2am, 4am and 6am. I got myself up walking after that and they sent me home at 11am. I was happy to go Home, but would have stayed longer as I was getting the best of treatment and was enjoying the rest. -
How do you know it was the lettuce, egg does that to me. [emoji23]
-
Definitely a no no. The pre diet is to shrink your liver before the op and alcohol will have the opposite affect. It could even prevent you having the op. Might have to wait a couple of months p.

Hi just to let folks in uk know that asda sell their own brand of protein water called sports nutrition. A 500 mil bottle of flavoured water gives you 30g of protein and it’s only 127 calories. Great way to meet fluid and protein needs.

Leicester at the Nuffield hospital. Good luck let me know h9w you get on.
-
do you think it’s lipodemia or lymphademia? As they are slightly different. Will you let me know how you get on at docs. Hope all goes well for you.
-
Totally agree it’s all shame and blame! I was on a waiting list for two years and getting no where then I retired and used some of my pension pot to get the sleeve. I couldn’t wait any longer. So glad I did, i feel a lot fitter for it. Hope you get it soon. What hospital will you go to?

Yeh I know what you mean, everything is down to weight? My ankles are a bit swollen but not really too noticeable but it’s above my knees that are worse. I don’t really suffer from any pain but they get tired if I walk too much. Thanks for responding to my question, when I was looking on the website about lipoedema, i nearly freaked out at some of the things I read. So it’s good to talk to someone else about it.
-
Hi dusty I’m seeing doc in a couple of weeks, but I’m going to ask (insist) on being referred to a lipoedema specialist. I need to know if it’s lipoedema or odema, so that I know what I’m dealing with. You can get liposuction to help but it sometimes comes back. It does seem that docs in the uk don’t know much about it, I had a knee replacement last year, my consultant remarked on my chubby legs but he Just said it was because I was overweight! How bad are your ankles?
-
Going to start swimming next week. Thanks
-
Thanks for your response. The photo of legs are not my own, just an example of what liepedemia looks like. (Spelt differently in uk). My legs are not nearly as bad but I’m worried that I have it as I have fat legs and swollen ankles. I will talk to my gp and see If i can get an appointment with a specialist. I had my sleeve op in August.
