Hi! I had fatty liver and I follow up the pre op diet and even with the fatty liver I had the bypass. My surgery was fast less than an hour and the doctor told me that when you follow all the instructions is not a problem but if not there are cases that can not be done laparoscopically but open! Good luck!

I had my surgery on August 14,2017 and my weight was 235. At my second month check up I was 200. I just begin with solid foods 2 weeks ago.My weight at my 3rd month check was 195... (no more weight lost!!!! I am not complaining about how much I loose because my hw was 250 and now I am 195 but I need help to go out of the stall.I am eating only 30 gr of protein a day and around 36 to 40 ounces of water . Thanks
-
Yes, GwennyPenny I agree each time I went to the Hospital I regained weight. This last few days I was trying to eat protein all day and I went to 50 grams and it really help because I lost a pound! And after 4 days 3 pounds! Yeeeahhh!
-
Yes I did but I had several problems eating protein in the first 2 months. I could not eat any then I supplement with liquid protein but even with that I had problems to drink eat and keep it in my stomach.I had several exams and went to the emergency room twice and even been hospitalized once. Now I am eating 40 grams of protein that I know is low for other people but it is a lot of effort for me! I will continue trying to eat more protein and maybe the stall will finish!

Thanks for answering! I am following the program but I was constipated too and went to the ER and gain some weight without eating anything!,, I think it was something that they put on my IV that has a lot of proteins and vitamins ( they call it the bariatric fluid) . I will be more patient!!! Thanks

I have the same problem! I tried to drink a lot of water but I can only drink about 40 punces a day and I my surgery was 8/14/2017. This week I decided to have a bottle of water or crystal light near me all the time to see if I can do it better...and I can!! My intake go to almost 60 ounces! But I was drinking little sips all day! I stop only 45 minutes before meals to be able to eat!!!

Anyone under 300lbs getting the surgery?
jo replied to Stella210's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Hi! Yes i was 235 on my surgery date(august 14,2017). I had a lot of issues too: diabetes, barrett, reflux, sleep apnea...and now I did not need any pills for diabetes, no reflux and I can sleep without my cpap. Of course my weight is better now too. i am 195 pounds now and I did not have 3 months yet. -
Gastroenterologist does not recommend GB
jo replied to Conroy3917's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I had the same issue! My family doctor recommend the bypass , my surgeon too but my gastroenterologist said that the surgery was not for me!!! And if I really was going to get it was better to go for the sleeve! i had to see by myself what where the positives outcomes and the negatives!!! I have diabetes , need to lose weight, Barrett and cholesterol... I decided to go for the bypass. Why? Because I can stop having pills for all and if my barrett begins to show cancer ...I still have my stomach to repare my esophagus!!!! Now 2 months later I have no cholesterol, no diabetic pills and no more acid reflux and I loose 50 pounds!!! And if you really want to lose weight this is not the easy way!!! You have to learn to eat healthy with the sleeve or the bypass!!! If you learn and Follow the rules you will be ok. Good luck!!! -

Congratulations! -
At the beginning I can't tolerate any protein drink and I bough protein water and it was worst...I am 2 months out of surgery and recently I am drinking premier again! But even now I can only have 1 drink for the day and another supplement of protein adding only 40 grams to my diet...it is low but I can't eat more!
-
I feel better staying more time in the purée food. Tomorrow I have my 2 month check up...I hope this is going to be my time of beginning solid food!
-
I have that! I am 2 months out of surgery and I am still drinking and having baby food! Sometimes even purée foods make me sick.I was on the ER once on my 3rd week because I can't or drink enough. I follow all the instructions and now I am drinking 32 ounces of liquid and 4 to 6 ounces of food daily. I am feeling better and the doctor said that some people are slow than others! But if you continue vomiting you need to check with your doctor because they need to do some exams to see if there is a problem

jo replied to RNY-Fall-2017's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Hi! Yes, it is totally normal! That happened to me too! Even when was not only for the weight!!! i was diabetic, overwight and with Barrett !!! The worst thing it was i can not have pills for the diabetes because I had reactions...I did not have other way but I was thinking do I need to do it??? It is a difficult but you will feel better after a while... it is not an easy way!!! You have to learn to eat again!!! But you will lose your weight!!! Now I have my sugar levels normal and I lost 37 pounds since my surgery!!! I just have 2 months !!! Lots of luck in your surgery!!! -
Yes, I had the same problems ...I can not eat and drink very little. I did not want to eat because the nausea. At the end of the 3rd week I wake up very dizzy and weak...pain and I went to the ER .They give some "bariatric packs"(vitamins , protein and minerals).I was there for the whole day and when I return home all was different.I begin to eat and drink better.... The nausea comes and go but now I can eat more and drink what I need! All of us are different and when I felt super bad was because I was not eating and drinking enough. Take her to her doctor!
