Any March 2018 Sleevers?
sarahisgreat replied to NelliSleeve's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Just got my surgery time of 9:30am Monday morning the 26th! So surreal it's finally happening, Doc only gave me a day of liquid diet however I feel I should do more to shrink my liver up. Debating with that. Exercising and practicing with my in spirometer (sp) every night. Just looking forward to this time next week when I hopefully am in a groove. Sip, sip, sip, walk. Etc. Eeeeeeeeeeeee -

Heyyy there, I’ve been a lurkeyloo and just wanted to thank everyone for sharing your experiences! All experiences, the highs and the lows. I’m getting sleeved on Monday the 26th and am feeling all kinds of ways. I’ve been doing a lot of self discovery as well. Trying to figure out why I’ve eaten to stuff my emotions and feelings. This us very much a head game and I want to be as successful as possible! It’s been so good to talk about all of my stuff and hopefully let some of this **** go. So pumped to be able to have this opportunity, this window of time to start over. To retrain myself on healthy eating, habits and portions. Again thank you for sharing your experiences. Good luck to everyone this week! I’ll be watching and rooting for you!! -

Surgery is scheduled for 3/26. I am pumped. I'm giving coffee and sparking water up now, exercising every day and getting my vitamin routine down now as well. I know I will never be fully prepared for life post op but want to have some healthy habits already established. Super sad to give up my bubble water, it's a definite addiction. Wish me luck and away we go!

Thank you! We both are!

Kaiser South San Francisco Dr. Robert Li
sarahisgreat posted a topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
Hi there, I have my orientation at Kasier SSF Aug 29th and then am meeting my surgeon Dr. Robert Li 9/1. I took the info class and was referred to the bariatric program last week. This is all moving very quickly (not that I'm complaining) I have an extreme amount of weight to lose. Does anyone have any experience with Dr. Li? Thank you -
I'm not the one who wants to keep it a secret.
sarahisgreat replied to oopsydaisy's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am pre-op and at first I was going to keep this all to myself and my immediate family as this can be an embarrassing topic. During my lifestyles class we had a post op gentleman there who told us his story. He suggested not keeping this a secret, it's a huge lifestyle change and you will need all the support you can get. I then started telling people about my journey so far. I have inspired a gal I work with to look into the procedure which may save her life. I have also inspired two friends who have had gastric bypass several years ago and have gained most if not all of their weight back to reevaluate, talk to their doctors and re-do all of the eating phases to shrink their pouches. The more people I tell the more stories I hear and the more support I get. I know I am blessed to have great, supportive people in my life but I also refuse to be around shitty people in general. My boyfriend is amazing, he fell in love with me at my heaviest, and supports all the positive changes I am doing to have a longer, more fulfilled, happier, healthier existence. I say tell people with CONFIDENCE. If you don't have confidence in yourself how can you expect anyone else to have confidence in you? Lead by example, your husband will come around. He may be embarrassed or scared and he has every right to feel how he feels but don't hide or disregard the fact that you are a strong woman taking your own life into your own hands and making positive changes. That seems to be the theme, this neverending battle. I know my work is just beginning. So my scale is way off and I've lost 4lbs since my last weigh in with 10 more to make goal. I go back 10/6 for my psych eval, we shall see where I am by then. I've been doing no carbs or sugar but the NUT insisted I follow pre-op. Scared to add the carbs and starch back into my diet but they are the professionals... Girl I hear you about the coffee, I gave that up last week and the three-day headache was legit. I need to give up my sparkling water, this is the hardest thing for me because I love it so. :/ i'll get there. -

Thank you so much! I am 6 pounds away from meeting the surgeon's goal weight and am looking forward to the weigh ins. However long it takes is how it's going to be. I'm eating right, exercising and drinking tons of water. Not sure how accurate my scale is at home but will find out when I weigh in today. Also, I did notice the difference between the bariatric scale and the surgeons. That was in the SSF office too. I was 376 on 8/29 at the bariatric office and 369 9/1 at the surgeons, so frustrating but oh well. Slow and steady wins the race, let's hope. -

Top 10 bucket list after weight loss
sarahisgreat replied to Tbird49's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
1. Wear a pair of little white shorts (or just shorts in general) 2. Go through the turnstiles normal at Disneyland instead of sideways. 3. Be the actual weight on my drivers license. 4. Be able to run/jog a good distance without getting winded. 5. Have my significant other be able to pick me up. 6. Not have my thighs constantly rub together and make that vip noise when walking. (Bye chaffing) 7. Not having my body clap when doing jumping jacks or switching positions. 8. Never worrying about a chair with arms, how much room in a booth or a seatbelt fitting properly EVER AGAIN. 9. Not constantly thinking about my weight, it will be nice to focus my attention on normal things. 10. Did I mention wearing shorts? -

I haven't been doing the meal plan but have cut out all flour, sugar and processed food. Need to cut carbonation next and start sipping my liquids and not drinking with meals, chewing 30 times, etc. Still need to get vitamins too. I've got 1.5 weeks until I got to Lifestyles and Nutrition and am hoping to meet my goal weight by then which is now 12 pounds. Might not happen and that's okay too. Where did you order the vitamins? I will look into these asap. Sorry about your shoulder, the pool should be good for it- just take it nice and slow. You can even get a boogie board and hold onto it and just use your legs until it's all healed. Your surgery date is so close!!! I'm so excited for you. You'll be going through everything before me, so I hope you will keep me in mind and continue to give me guidance through your journey! -

Yeesh!! That would be nerve-wracking but you got this! Do you like to exercise? I don't love it but don't mind swimming. I will be hitting the pool every night after work. That, cutting out carbs, sugar and diet soda should do the trick. When's the date?? I've only tried the chocolate. What vitamins did you get? -
I love sparkling water. Out of all the things that need to change to be successful this will be the hardest for me.

Right on!!! So excited for you! I like the chocolate ones and they have 30 grams of protein. Maybe you should try single ones before you buy the 30 pack?! Just in case you don't like them.
