    Calories

You might want to cut out the drinkable yogurt (high sugar count) make your own with fruit-Greek yogurt 0% and unsweetened almond milk and swap electrolyte water or protein water in place of Gatorade.... that will drop your calorie intake significantly
  2. I'm 6 weeks post-op around 41/2-5 weeks I started having some issues with restriction and stomach gas when I tried to eat I originally thought it might be the first signs of gallbladder issues. I saw my surgeon this week and he is scheduling an endoscopy he thinks it could be a stricture. Has this happened to anyone else how did it resolve itself?
  3. Try the nectar brand of protein shakes they have grab and go pouches and they have an iced tea flavor that takes like liptons ice tea or crystal light.. it's not a thick protein shake at all so it goes down like water. I buy them from Amazon and I shake them in my water bottle (don't blend them, it foams up). Each pouch has 23 grams of protein and I find it a good way to get my protein and water in without that heavy feeling of traditional protein shakes and no overly sweet aftertaste
  4. I have the same issue ... I try to start my day with a full 16 ozs of liquids first thing. (Water, crystal light) I find that this "calms" my stomach down and then I just have a little apple sauce with my meds or 1/2 a container of Greek yogurt I don't push it because food in the am makes me feel gross... I'm 27 days post-op

    Protein Shakes

I've really struggled to find a protein powder that agrees with my system and doesn't taste awful... I like the nectar line of whey protein the best price is on Amazon and their ice tea flavor tastes like Lipton's ice tea

    Post Op Liquid

I puréed Amy's Organic Tomato basil bisque
  7. I'm 12 days post op and my go to food is Fage 0% with peach it satisfies me and fills me, I struggle with savory food but do well with Indian food puréed and starkiss lemon pepper tuna with a tablespoon of guacamole (the pouch is 2.5 oz, 18g of protein) once or twice a week I add 2 tbsp of Nuts and More toffee crunch peanut butter to my protein shake (1g sugar, 12 G protein) so that with a scoop of my isopure is 38 g in one shake

    What is considered a fever?

I ran a low grade fever post op as well, liquid Tylenol helped
  9. A 3 hour drive will probably be too much right after release... I handled stairs 2 days post op no problem multiple times but every bump in the road made me sore... treat yourself to a hotel you will be comfortable and not stressed that's what you need to start your recovery

    Period/menstruation delay

I am so glad somebody posted a period question on here. I'm 12 days post op and just got my period and I feel awful almost flu like, drained, slightly dizzy and everything except water and watermelon makes me feel sick... anyone else feel like this with their first period after surgery?

    After Surgery Taste Issues

I was sleeved 8/1 and it's been an adjustment to finding things that don't taste gross. I think it is because we are in ketosis and have a constant salty metal taste in our mouths... my go to foods have been Greek yogurt, avocado, hummus, watermelon and mango. They seem to balance out the taste for me. I find that most creamy soups or broth based foods taste gross and I struggle with the pre-mixed protein shakes.
