Hello, I am almost 5 months post op vsg. I have lost at least 50% of my hair. I have always had extremely thick hair, now I am scared to wash it or even brush it because so much comes out. I have bought all of the matrix violate advanced fiber strong products and they do not seem to be helping. Has anyone else experienced this? I am also going through a stall. I am extremely frustrated. I am thankful that I have lost a little over 75 lbs in almost 5 months however I feel like everyone else is out of their old clothes and into new by this point. I am not. Yes they are big but I can still wear them comfortably. For the past at least three weeks I have been going up and down between 3 lbs. it is definitely not coming off like it was. Has anyone else experienced this?

Hello, I was sleeved 10/17/17. I have lost a little over 50 lbs. I have had a crazy ride but things seem to be getting back to normal. I am finally on foods, I feel like it’s trial and error at this point. What are some ideas of foods you guys eat and how much? I have been eating a lot of grilled chicken with refried beans and I and so scared that since I didn’t have my measuring cup that I have eaten more than I should have a stretched my stomach. Is this possible? Has anyone else felt like this? Thank you in advance

Has anyone tried whey protein isolate? For some reason I think my dr told me to avoid this one but I could be wrong.

Thank you so much! I also tried the bariatric advantage and it did not sit well with me either. I have been switching off with the Apple and orange isopure and now I am just tired of it. I bought the strawberry banana isolate yesterday and tried it this morning, it was ok. I guess it will take some getting used to -

Hello, I was sleeved October 17th. It has been far from an easy journey. I have been in the hospital more than not because of dehydration, I am still on clear liquids. Halloween I had to do a CT scan and found out I have a blood clot in my stomach, in the vein right next to my liver. I was in back in the hospital for 5 days and now home taking it easy and now on blood thinners for at least 6 months. Has anyone else gone through this? Hw 374 SW 358 CW 332

Hello, I was sleeved 10/17 along with a hernia repair and discharged 10/18. I was only getting 7 oz of fluid in a day and finally called my surgeon. He said I was released way to soon and need to get back to the hospital since I was so dehydrated only getting 7 oz of liquid in per day. He said I need to be getting 60-70oz in per day. Unfortunately I am still in the hospital and won’t be released until I can start drinking. Thankfully I haven’t had any nausea or throwing up, however when I drink something I feel it hit my stomach or now pouch and it feels like an elephant jumps on it. Has anyone experienced this?

Dehydration
Excitedforthesleeve replied to Excitedforthesleeve's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
For me personally I had severe dry mouth. I completely felt blah. And every time I got up I was extremely light headed and thought I was going to pass out. Thank god for my boyfriend he has been a saint through all of this because I’m sure I wasn’t the easiest person to get along with lol. When I was trying to get ready to go to the hospital Saturday I got up walked to my room and I became super light headed and my world started spinning. I had to sit down immediately because I knew it wasn’t going to be good. Ever since I have had the iv fluids going I have felt a world of difference. I hope this helps. -

Thank you for all of the information. When I went into the er Saturday I don’t think I have even been hooked up so fast. They rushed 5 bags of fluids into be because I was so dehydrated. Unfortunately I am still here because it hurts so much to drink anything when it hits my sleeve. Did you ever tried the isopure protein it is pretty good. The orange is my favorite because it doesn’t have an over powering flavor like most. I also bought genpro I haven’t tried it but it is suppose to be tasteless and you can add it to any drink. -

Thank you! I hope you feel better as well. For protein for the first week or two to sip on isopure the orange has been my favorite so far it doesn’t have much taste. They had to do a ct when I got here and they said I was extremely swollen which is most likely where the pain is coming from -

Good morning, my surgery is Tuesday and the stress is hitting. What did everyone “eat” the first week? I know it is all about the protein but what did you use? Has anyone used Genepro?

Hello, I have finished all of my required classes and my first appointment with my surgeon tomorrow. I am getting really nervous, I feel like it is getting real. What have been everyone's experiences with the first surgeon appointment? I have heard surgery can be as soon as 2-3 weeks after this appointment.
