  1. Hi Lovepink21, I totally understand how you are feeling as I am going through it myself. Im sicj and tired of the feeling like im living my old age when im a young adult (24yo). I'm tired of judging whether I'll fit and/or break the chair lol I understand the struggle and I know this a journey and I need to curb my impatience into action. I have been trying to get myself ready for it, trying to lose weight (currently 137kg, Highest weight 140kg) but I've had countless slip ups. But I know I am ready for it and this is a lifestyle change which is not solely about losing weight and I'm trying to get my mindset ready for that. I think the best thing is to get in contact with a counsellor in the meantime and perhaps even during post op. I'm in Australia so I would know what resources but I recommend seeing a counsellor. My surgery date is 24 Nov What about yourself? Sent from my SM-G935F using BariatricPal mobile app

    Current self-image before surgery

Believe me, I totally understand where you are coming from[emoji5]And such thoughts have plagued me. I too have been overweight most of my life but I realise that I'm not going to give up on myself. I understand this is a tool and I'm GOING to give it my all because I'm SO sick and tired of being sick and tired. So tired of being this weight. The challenges I'm constantly faced with, like judging beforehand whether I won't break the chair lol and I can go on but that is besides the point. I believe in you too and do not give up on yourself. I see this as a massive fight I've had to fight majority of my life and even if I stumble here and there, I choose to keep at it because I do not choose the lifestyle I'm currently living and nor should you. I'm hoping and praying for the BEST outcome for you as I hope for myself. You are not alone[emoji4] Sent from my SM-G935F using BariatricPal mobile app

    Current self-image before surgery

I also share the same fear that I will not lose enough weight, particularly not get to my goal weight- I refuse to operate in the place of fear. My surgery date is on 24 November. It's been a long time coming as I am self financing. I look forward to it! I enthusiastically look foward to having 'after' pictures. Sent from my SM-G935F using BariatricPal mobile app

    Hey there!

Thank you Helena! It is so encouraging to hear that[emoji4] do you mind me asking your stats? I'll be having the mini gastric bypass as that is what my Surgeon recommends. I was concerned about the weight loss in comparison to the general gastric bypass (as I have a LOT of weight to lose to get to my goal weight) but I am aware the results are similar. Are there any particular challenges you face after being almost two years post op? Sent from my SM-G935F using BariatricPal mobile app

    Hey there!

Hello everyone, My name is Tash, 24 yo and I live in Australia. I'm in the process of having gastric bypass at the end of the year. It's taken two years to finally save up for it. I'm super looking forward to the journey, change of lifestyle. It's great to have this forum to support each other. Sent from my SM-G935F using BariatricPal mobile app

    Hey! Introductions

Oh that is comforting to know that the recovery is not bad[emoji5] . Thats interesting that you have been craving only cold food. At least the puree stage has a lot more texture. What are your stats if you don't mind me asking? I haven't had surgery just yet. I'll be having the mini gastric bypass on 24 Nov. As current, I'm trying to lose weight bit by bit. HW 140kg CW 137.7 kg Goal weight before surgery is 125kg. Sent from my SM-G935F using BariatricPal mobile app
  11. Hey all, I am 24 yo from Australia. I'm also new here. My surgery is set for 24 November. Im Super excited, it's been a long three years I've been preparing for it, financially (as I am self-financing) and equipping myself with as much knowledge about it wls, particularly gastric bypass. I know support is important. I hope to make good friendships here as this can be a lonely journey especially if you don't have people around who understand what you are going through. 14. Hi all, I had my first consultation with my surgeon last week and he recommended that I should get the mini gastric bypass. I must admit my heart is rather set on the general gastric bypass. It is a rather specialised area and not so common. I've never had weight loss surgery before but I've noticed from my research thus far, that many have transitioned from another weight-loss surgery to the mini gastric bypass(MGB). Anyone here had the MGB? And if so, what has been your experience? Sent from my SM-G935F using BariatricPal mobile app

  18. I have chosen not to tell my colleagues except my Team Leader. I'm not doing it for anyone except myself and I know that people will have their judgements and quite frankly I do not need negatively energy. So I totally understand where you are coming from.
