  1. The fact that the water is going down easier now you are correct that the swelling has just gone down and it is going down. I do not think an upset stomach will cause the band to slip at this point. From what I understand they stitch the stomach around the band. I am thinking the upset stomach is gas from the surgery. Get up and do as much walking as you can. That will help you pass the gas.
  2. I would look to see if this guy is an actual dr and just does the bypass and is trying to keep up his business. This is a personnel choice for everyone that has it done. I had the lap band 11 months ago and have lost 71lbs. Would do it again in a heart beat. If you eat chips and ice cream the band will not work for you. The band is just a tool to help you lose the weight. If you do not want to work to take the weight off and just want the weight to fall off then the bypass is what you want. The band it only works if you are working to lose the weight. You have to watch what you eat and work out. The band in not a magical thing that will make the weight fall off. It still is hard work.

Acid feeling - is this normal.

I have the same thing that happens. Except that it isn't just when I am done eating. I wake up at night with the gurgling and heartburn feeling. What is it that causes this?

    Port Flipping

I had the same thing happen in February and went back and had it filled under flouroscopy. It went very smooth in March. I think it is as we lose weight things start to get smaller and start to move around. February was very Very painfull as he was trying to do the fill. Went good in March. Nothing to worry about.
  5. Hang in there. Every hour you will start to feel better. The breathing is just a precaution. It is something that is very common for anyone with asthma or even just surgery. I have asthma and it is used to watch the lungs to be sure that they are not filling up with fluids. The breathing in and out will keep your lungs clear. The laying down can cause your lungs to clear up. This is a very common procedure with anyone that is laying around. Relax. Get up and start to walk around. That is the best thing for you to do. Works out all those drugs from the surgery. Keep your head up. It is so worth it when you start to see the scale drop and you are able to do things that you have not been able to do in a while, or ever.
  6. You will be able to eat what you want once you get used to the band. The 1st couple of weeks or months are the toughest. And that really isn't all that bad. I found that I had my surgery at the end of May 08 and that by fall I was eating what ever I wanted to eat. I would be thinking that the band was suppose to be stopping me from eating. My goal was to lose the weight, but I could eat whatever that I wanted. I just had my 3rd fill and now I am noticing that some foods are not as easily going down. I can still eat whatever, just smaller amounts at this time.
