How is everyone

Hi, how are you? Glad to see someone posting on here. I am a little nervous about the holidays, it will be the first time in my life I won't be using food to comfort, soothe or treat myself thru the holidays. I keep telling myself to just take it one day at a time and stick to the program--I bought halloween candy I don't like to give out to the kids, and I still am not really hungry, but I don't know how long that will last. How is everyone

Hi, everyone, sleeved on 6/26/17. I count all the weight I have lost since my surgical consult, so down from 357 to 272 and very happy with it. I had a 3 week stall at 300lbs, talked to my NUT and started tracking everything, and increased calories to at least 600 per day and came out of the stall. I now weigh or measure everything I put in my mouth, and per her advice shoot for between 600-700 calories per day, no more than 50 gm carbs, no more than 30 gm fat and between 60-70 gm protein per day. I don't let myself weigh every day because it fluctuates or stalls for 2 or 3 days at a time and then drops.....that drives me crazy, so only once a week for me. I am losing between 2.5-3.5lbs per week, and am very happy. 5FT 6IN 56 YRS YOUNG HW384 CONSULT WT 357 SW326 CW 272 (that mess above is supposed to be my ticker, lol)
3. NSV - (non scale victory) for the first time in I can't even remember how many years - I was able to trim my own toe nails, with a regular toe nail trimmer. Sounds silly, but made me feel great. Had been paying the doc to do it.

Lacking the motivation to even walk...

I may be a newbie at VSG, but I am an old lady and the only person you should ever compare yourself too is the person you used to be. No one has walked in our shoes but us. You have an incredibly busy life and have not even had time to fully recover yet...cut yourself some slack and it will get better. You can do this.
9. You are not alone. We were warned in our pre-op class at KCBariactric that we would have mood swings and be on an emotional roller coaster because of the hormones being released from burned fat and also because we can't turn to food to comfort or calm or reward ourselves any more. I had a special talk with the RN because I was having sore breasts, insomnia, and other classic PMS symptoms, even though I am (hopefully, finally) past menopause. The nurse said it is normal and will settle down once I stop losing so fast. Hang in there, it will get better.
