    Endoscopic sleeve gastroplasty

@melesg. Ahhh I just got so excited reading this...it's all so intense but is going to be THE turning point in our lives...where we got healthy for our kids, ours selves and our husbands!!! I have no pre-procedure diet but post is intense: day 1 nothing, day 2 clear liquid only, day 3-30 puréed liquid diet only. So I'm thinking soups, protein shakes etc. I'm somewhat lactose intolerant so God help me ...as so many liquids have dairy. WeGOT this girl! So exciting...I weigh 192 & am 5'6. How about you?

How far out are you from your procedure? Have you consumed alcohol yet? Have you noticed any change to the way your body metabolizes it? Feel Drunk much more quickly? Any odd unusual or unexpected side effects? Gas? LoL [emoji23] thanks!!
  4. My insurance covers 80%. I'm sure they can't tell you over the phone you'd have to go in, see if you qualify, get a procedure date then they'll check your insurance for you to see how much it covers. Hope that helps! What's your BMI?

@DMC2002 I totally agree it's somewhat lonely because I'm not talking about it with anyone but my husband and my mom& mother-in-law. Thank goodness they're all supportive too. They certainly don't want to talk about it all day like I do...lol. When is your date? Mine is Sept 28@2pm. I'm so excited but nervous because the post-procedure diet is all liquid/pureed for 30 days. I'm sure there will be some tough days but I know I can get through it and I'm DONE with being overweight. My BMI is between 30/31. I'm looking to loose 35/40 pounds. When I fund out about this procedure I literally didn't stop my search until I have a consultation. It's an incredible option with almost zero side effects other than weight loss. I am so ready!!!
  6. I have scheduled my ESG for sept 28th and am also a low bmi (30) and didn't qualify for traditional Bariatric surgery. This procedure is covered by my insurance as well. So stocked!! I called all over the country for weeks to finally locate a facility in California that performs this new procedure. Perhaps call some of the more established hospitals that perform it and ask if anyone in TX is doing it. Johns Hopkins, UCI, Mayo Clinic, etc. Good luck and keep us posted!!!
  7. When is your procedure scheduled? Where is it scheduled and where do you live? I have an incredibly great feeling about what this will do - I think you're still able to make food mistakes but it gives you a powerful tool to support your new lifestyle. I'm so excited to have discovered this thread!!
  8. Oh no why isn't your husband supporting the procedure? That must be hard! Procedure date Sept 28th

Hi ESG group!! I've decided not to share with anyone but my family. Have any of you chosen the same path? Why and has it been challenging to keep it? [emoji175]

This is very exciting to have discovered a thread of others having done this procedure or those that have it scheduled. So hard to find info about this online!! I have mine scheduled for September 28 2pm at UCI (university of California Irvine). I have three kids and have struggled to drop the baby weight after the third baby. My BMI is about 31. I've tried every thing to lose the weight and it just keeps coming back. I'm so excited for this procedure AND nervous and would love to connect via email or better yet on the phone with anyone that has already had the procedure done and would be willing to talk! Belle3
  15. @Zaa I had a face-to-face consultation with my doctor at UCI and the stitches are never removed and ultimately end of healing together so procedure is not reversaable unless it is done shortly after conducted. It is meant to be a permanent change to your stomach pouch. You can stretch it similar to other Bariatric surgeries. Has anyone who's had the procedure had trouble with no longer being able to gulp water? I love gulping water after a run or when I've gone without for a while and am nervous about that. Anything else to report? Can you share the Top 5 greatest aspects to getting the procedure and top 5 most challenging aspects? Thanks so much!!
  16. Where is your procedure taking place? mine is scheduled for September 28th and I'm so excited. I'm nervous about being nauseous and about not being able to drink water - only being able to take small sips. To those who've had the procedure -what was the most unexpected challenge as well as benefit? Thanks!!!
  17. I'm so excited to have found these posts! Im sched for the procedure on Sept 28th. I'm getting very excited and very nervous. Is there quite a bit of nausea postOp?
