    anyone in N.C with medicaid that has had lap band?

    The doctor you went to is the one I am going to see. I will go for the class on 4/28. Did you like him and his staff? Did you get the band and did voc rehab pay? Was it out patient or did you stay one night. Thanks for all your help! Debbie, North Wilkesboro N.C.
  4. I am 53 and have worked since I was 16. I was a dental hygienist for 30 years but due to health problems of mine one son and my husband we lost EVERYTHING, our home, 401K and sold everything of value, rolex,chanel, Hermes ect to try to stay out of the system but due to extreme circumstances I have lost all due to health problems. I paid and paid alot over the years, so I feel in my case I am only taking out what I worked hard for over my life. Once I get disability, which my lawyer thinks in my condition should not be a problem I will be on Medicare because I will make to much for medicaid help, which is fine by me!
  5. I weigh in at 223 and am 5'4'. I have had a foot of colon removed, had the bag and then reversal, resulting in several hernias and with out those core muscles my back is hurting. I am on 7.5 norco,Valium, and muscle relaxers to cope with my bulging disk in the lumbar area. I found a center of excellence with a doctor that takes Medicaid. I talked to my doctor and she is willing to do anything she can to help me get Medicaid to pay. I Also have fibromylgia, osteoarthritis and may cholesterol is over 240. My plan is to get some weight off and not have more spinal surgery{I just hand VERY extensive neck surgery, which Medicaid paid} Without core muscles in your abdomen your back is compromised then add bulging disk and osteoarthritis we are hoping to get Medicaid in North Carolina to pay. Does my PCP need to include any specifics to get Medicaid to pay for the lap band? Thanks so much for any info!! I have been disabled for 2 years and will be getting Medicare once I get in front of a judge, but who knows how much longer that will take!! I am desperate NOW!
  6. Hi, I am a 53 year old female with 2 grown sons, a husband I adore of 34 years and 3 great dogs that have not asked for my car keys EVER! I have been overweight for about 20 years and now have had 4 abdominal surgeries. One was to remove 1foot of colon and a bag was place and then the reversal. My surgeon said my abdominal walls are paper then, I do have 2 new hernias, not to do abdominal exercises. This really effects the back since my core muscles are almost non-existent and they are the ones that help support the back. This is where I may need some help esp from any one in N.C. with Medicaid. I am in the process of applying and am currently waiting to go before the judge. I just had EXTENSIVE neck surgery but am left with a bulging disk in the lumber area where my stomach core muscles help support.. I know the extra 75 to 90 lbs is not helping my back problems. I am currently on soma,Valium and 6, 7.50 norco daily to control the pain. My PCP is very willing to help me get this through Medicaid and I have found a doctor in a center of excellence that accepts Medicaid. My height is 5'4 ' and i weigh in at 223. Does any one have advice for me on helping get Medicaid to pay? My aim is to get off the meds and especially keep from going to a pain clinic where 2 doctors have already wanted to send me. I would so appreciate any feedback {on the topic I meant to say a no pun intended.}
