  1. I'm curious, I have read that I can never drink carbonated beverages ever again after the sleeve, such as desante water that has fizz, but zero calories or sugar etc. Why? And I have heard no bread or rice. Not even basmati rice? Why? What other foods do I need to know are major no no's and why so I don't make a mistake and eat or drink them. Thank you in advance for your replies. Sent from my SM-N900V using BariatricPal mobile app

    How can spouse help?

I've told my husband that I'm going to have this surgery. I told him all about my 1st orientation meeting. He didn't want to talk to me about it. He said I failed every other weight loss plan that he doesn't think he can handle another failure. I don't know how to deal with this. I will have this surgery. I will be successful and I will be fit and healthy. My 2nd appointment is in September to meet the surgeon. He likes to meet with all his new clients before we take the 4 other steps. My weight now is: 280 pounds. I hope to get down to 135 pounds. If my husband is not on board, I will have to do it by myself. Go into the hospital by myself, and leave once I'm discharged by myself. When I get to my goal weight, I will be one hot mamma! Lol Sent from my SM-N900V using BariatricPal mobile app
  3. The type of drink I drink is Desanti Water. It is flavored, has no calories, no nothing in it. It is just fizzy. I used this to get off of Pepsi because I was addicted to the fizz and the flavor. So this fizzy water is yummy, and I would hate to give it up since there is no calories in it. Compulsory sobriety sucks!

My surgeon told all of us during our 1st orientation meeting that smoking cigarettes or weed is never allowed after surgery due to the deadly effects it will have. Smoking will narrow the blood flow and cause harm and weed will make you very hungry and force you to overeat and train your brain to be in constant food mode. Don't use a drug whether it's weed, alcohol or other calming substances to calm your nerves. Go exercise, paint, work with clay, learn to do active things that will give your mind other things to think about. See a therapist if your stress is too much. But relying on a drug only increases the need for even more to calm you. Even food is a drug and look how many of us use it to get us by. Sent from my SM-N900V using BariatricPal mobile app

    Wish I was losing faster

I was told to have 600 calories a day, 100g of protein, and 1.5 gallons of water per day. So, 90% protein 5% fruits 5% veggies. Nothing fried. Nothing with bbq or fatty sauces. Sent from my SM-N900V using BariatricPal mobile app

    Ready to Run-Just my thoughts

If anything, you will have more material to joke about when you get thinner. I too am an aspiring stand up comedian. My town has a monthly open stand up. I'm writing down my experiences before and after I get the surgery and during the whole fat to thin me. Hugs to you girl. You will be sensational! Sent from my SM-N900V using BariatricPal mobile app
  8. I wish I was 115 pounds. I'm 5'7" and weight 280. I'm in the process of having sleeve surgery. I've had my 1st orientation and meet with the surgeon next month. I used to be 110 pounds. But I was brutally raped. From that, I never wanted to be attractive to people for fear I would be raped again. I chose to get this surgery for my health and to move past the fear. The surgeon says that I will lose 65% of my weight if I follow the diet exactly. I'm scared to death, but I'm tired of being this heavy. The doctor told me my body will remember being thin and will push itself back with this surgery. Here is to hoping. Sent from my SM-N900V using BariatricPal mobile app
