    Pre-Op diet repeat 2.5years out?

Welp, this isn't going well. After 3 full days of protein shakes and veggies (under 800 calories) I am UP 1.5lbs. My boyfriend who hasn't had any surgery is down 8. Sooo.... I'm thinking this isn't great for post-op. If I'm not down by Saturday I'm going to have try something else... Any suggestions on re-sets that work well postop?

My Thought This AM before Surgery

How are you feeling?? Hope all went well!!
  3. I started a "reset" yesterday too with my boyfriend. Pretty much mimicking my pre-op diet... nothing but protein shakes and raw non-starchy veg. Planning on doing this for 2 weeks, pre-op I had to do 3, so I'm hopeful!

Any foods that still ( or recently ) make you sick ?

This! Some ice creams kill me but I can do a kiddie sized cone of soft serve. Culver's custard made me feel like absolute death! It took a while for my body to allow rice (mainly for sushi or Chinese food) but now I just need to be really mind the amount I eat and I *usually* keep it down.
  6. Just curious if anyone has tried this and what their success was like. My bf wants to lose a big chunk of weight and proposed this, and of course he has my support! I know all programs have VERY different pre-op plans, but mine was 3 weeks (based on BMI) of nothing but 4 (plan approved) protein shakes and raw non-starchy veggies with zero topping/seasoning. I adhered to this diet 100% in 2018. I had already lost 40+lbs at that point and lost 16lbs in the 3 weeks before surgery. Obviously my caloric needs are far lower at 168 than at 300+ lbs, so I am planning to do 4 lower calorie protein shakes (Premier, Quest, GNC Lean) and the same restriction on veggies. I'm planning to do this for 2 weeks. I got to my lowest weight of 149 last summer and maintained pretty well until the holidays when I saw as high as 175. I've been maintaining from about 169-173 since January, but I really want that "Normal" BMI back (~155). Fortunately almost all my smaller clothes still fit with the exception of a pair of shorts. Hoping to hear that others have seen results!

    Tummy Tuck 8/21

Yayyyy!!! You look incredible, the FDL looks fantastic!
  8. Good luck!!! It's another wild journey - I'm going in for round 2 in less than 2 months! I decided to split my body lift up, so I'll see if I'm glad I did afterwards. If you have any questions about the process or anything I'm here!

How many calories do you eat a day?

I'm usually around 1100-1300 per day, but I relax some on the weekends and I maintain pretty well. (19 months post-op)

    Body Changes are Frustrating

Body changes really ARE so challenging to process! I'm down 199 lbs and have already had 1 round of plastics (second in October) but it doesn't solve all the problems. It definitely helps, but I know rather than the copious amounts of loose skin to make me feel uncomfortable and remind me of how large I was, I'll have a TON of scars literally all over my body as a reminder. I am very thankful to be where I am, but it's very hard to see what I've done to my body.

Vets - How often do you weigh yourself?

Thank you so much!!! I lost 57lbs pre-op, so about 140 in the past 18 months.

Vets - How often do you weigh yourself?

I hope it's okay I'm a couple days shy of 18 months, but I also weigh every day and track every day. I'm at a 700 day streak on MFP. To me, it just works. I've formed this habit, it's yielding positive results so I'm sticking to it. When I'm out of town or on vacation I definitely relax but jump right back on the wagon as soon as I'm home. I honestly find myself looking forward to that comfort/control. It's unreal how quickly my body can put weight back on. I went away for the 4th of July for 4 nights and came home about 12lbs heavier. I lost it all back in the span of a week, but it was a pretty great reminder of how valuable my positive habits are.

How much Calcium citrate is everyone taking?

    I take 1500 per day (500 x3) per my surgeon's protocol.

    Tummy Tuck 8/21

I have a FDL and it's healing really well. I also had a ton of skin above my navel and a regular TT wouldn't have taken care of it at all. I'm actually having it revised in my next surgery to take more/extend it a little higher as I still have loose skin there even with the first FDL. I can't easily post pics from my work computer, but I can later if that would be helpful. As far as needing help, I think after a couple days you should really be okay especially without any muscle repair. Just take it very easy.
