  3. Yes feeling much better thank you. I go for my firdt fill July 1 so a new experience to start. Stay Well
  4. Dr. Bagan performed my sugery on May 21. I can't say enough about him only that he really cares for his patient and provides excellent support through the entire process. His bariatric nurse Sandy is just wonderful and demonstrates that they cannot do enough for you to be successful. If suregeons and nurses were all like this it would be a better health care system. Highly Recommended:thumbup:
  5. Thank you thats a good rule of thumb
  6. Yes I have started but still waiting for the affects

    What did I do?

I was banded on May 21st and believe me I was on an emotional rollercoaster.I understand exactly how you feel. But it does get better the pain is minimal now. The ahrd part for me is the headaches and trying to get all the right liquids down. I was very tired no energy whne I asked the qusetion of my nurse she said i wasn't getting enough protein. So today I adjust again to make it better. It seems like adjustment will be around for awhile. Sorry to hear about your baby but I am sure you will make it. I need to know others have made it so then I know I can do it to. This is a great place to see that for yourself. Good Luck:thumbup:
  8. Thanks After going through this believe me I will stick it out. I spoke with my Nurse and she indictaed I wasn't getting enough protein. Which i acknowledge. So today is a new day and more protein. Thanks for the support this site helps
  9. Thank you I will concentrate more on the liquids
  10. Since being on the clear liquid diet I am experiencing headaches, fatigue and napping alot. Is this normal? My energy level is very low.Any suggestions? Thanks:ohmy:

    Just got approval

Thanks you were most helpful. I suffer with the same health issues except diabetes but on the edge of that too. I realize the good things that will come out of this. I guess living this life for so long and trying so many diets that my biggest fear is failure. Not sure if that is normal emotions but this is the one time I hope I can succeed in. Crazy after all the waiting that now I question my confidence.
  12. I just recieved approval from insurance after a long battle. Now reality is sinking in and getting nervous. I know I'm doing this for all the right reasons but the biggest thing for me is the drastic change in life style. I have fears of success and what life will be when it is done. Hard to explain maybe someone else is going or has gone through this roller coaster of emotions. Any advice?

Anyone with GHI success in NY??

I am also GHI and retired from Sanitation. I am in the process right now and the first response I got was that the documentation was not complete. My doctor is resubmitting. I can tell you living in Florida and using GHI is not the easiest thing to do. they literally torture you at times. Rght now I am just praying that they accept the documents and I don't have to go through another six month wait.
  14. I recently met with my nutritionist and still waiting for final approval from Insurance. I realize this is very important for my health but find there is some fear in accpeting such a drastic life change. I've tried so many programs before had sucess and failure but failing here is even more difficult to handle. The food and how I have to eat for the rest of my life is something I hope I can do. It's like being at the edge of a cliff being chased and asking myself jump or get caught. Very difficult mentally not knowing if I will be successful.
