Out With the Old--In With the New!
Miss Topaz replied to FluffyChix's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Rebellion happens. I had brownies and chocolate this week and I know I ate breakfast and lunches too fast. Had a stall. But guess what? We're human! And we don't have to be perfect, but we do have to consistently get back on track. So it's a new day - no matter what time it is! Praying for that long, luxurious poop for you! Hey all - I've had 6 nosebleeds in 10 days after never having one in 53 years of life. I live in Colorado and it's been very dry, but it's not like I just moved here. I asked my surgeon if I should come in for a blood test for vitamin deficiency. He says as long as I'm taking my vitamins (i am) it's likely just the dry weather or soemthing else. Has anyone else experienced nosebleeds? I've had two at work - luckily alone in my office - which are most upsetting. It looks like my multi doesn't really give that much vitamin K and of course, on my tiny diet I'm only getting so much. I might look for a supplement tomorrow....

Fluffer - catching up after being awol most of the week. Congrats on figuring it out and measuring! I need to follow your example. Tried a cauliflower crust pizza today and ate too much of it. I told myself 1 slice, but had to go for 1/2 a slice more... Not sick but not feeling great either. Also have discovered that chocolate doesn't bother me. Next week will officially be a chocolate free week! (won't hurt that my office mate, who brings in chocolate, will be out of town). You're so inspiring! I'm loving following your journey! -

About 7 weeks out now. Drinking water more like a nornal person and eating more like 1/2 cup instead of 1/4 mist if the time. Other than eating restrictions I feel pretty nornal. Sent from my SM-G920V using BariatricPal mobile app -
One month surgiversary - measurements!
Miss Topaz posted a topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hey all! I was sleeved on Jan 23, 2018. Yesterday was my one month surgiversary! Hubby took measurements for me a couple days prior to surgery and redid them last night to see how things have progressed beyond the scale. Woo hoo! We've got a good start going! Not sure why we went metric, but here's the results: 2 cm off belly/waist 6 cm off hips - YASSS!!! Explains why pants are seriously baggy 4 cm off bust 3 cm off neck - who knew I was carrying so much fat around my neck? 2 cm off rt arm 1 cm off right calf 2 cm off right thigh So thrilled with this! I can't wait to see what the numbers look like on Mar 23! My coats and jackets and clothes are getting big. It's still winter, so cold winds blowing up under loose jackets is becoming a problem! I did score a new fleece jacket for only $15 on a clearance sale today. It's way too small yet, but I will get there soon! -

THIS! I wore saggy pants to work with a long cardi (which i love) to cover the sag and felt like a frump all day. Got new pants that fit and it changed my whole attitude. I've only bought jeans smaller in casual wear as i dont mind feeling baggy as much at home and have several previously too small tops for errands Sent from my SM-G920V using BariatricPal mobile app -

Closet shopping is the best! I did get fed up with my work pants sagging to my knees and went to the local outlet mall, and to kohls armed with a 30% off coupon and picked up a few things. It's amazing how much better you feel when your pants fit! I also instituted 'yoga pants friday' at the office so I can wear stretchy pants on Friday since they last so much longer while we lose. -
To tell or not to tell
Miss Topaz replied to beccaconaty87's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
It's definitely a personal choice. I've kept the circle very small - due to negativity and also, because my medical choices are really no one's business. My coworkers know i had surgery, but we don't discuss what type. I started working with a dietician during my pre-surgery requirements, so just said that she and I were resetting my habits in the new year, post surgery. There are a couple concerned that I'm not eating enough, but they know I'm under medical care and feeling great, so they're not overly worried. -

Just keep measuring and you'll be fine! I've found that some days I can eat what looks like a lot and other days only half that amount. Depends on the food too Sent from my SM-G920V using BariatricPal mobile app -
After 6 weeks (which is now!) I can have fruit and veg. But the plan stresses protein first, then veg, then fruit. I haven't tried a raw carrot yet, but have had sugar snap peas with no issue and a clementine. Mind you, only a few at a time.

I remember having a few burps. Get that gas out! I like "war wounds". My surgeon referred to them as "stab wounds"
