  1. Hi. I swear I've seen people list a recommended schedule for eating/drinking throughout the day but have been unable to locate using the search feature. I know I can figure it out for myself, but would love to see some recommendations from those more experienced. I'm two weeks post-op and was cleared by my surgeon yesterday for soft solids. I made some delicious slow cooker beef--it really is amazing how my sleeve only allows about 1/4 cup! Oh the money I'll save on food! Anyone have any recommendations on a food/drink schedule in a typical day? I'm struggling a bit with water trying to space it out from food...thanks in advance! Surgery weight, 8/3: 275 Current weight, 8/17: 258

    August Sleevers-How are you doing??

I was sleeved on 8/3. Surgery weight: 275, current weight : 234. I had an awfully long stall through September, but back on track and have consistently increased exercise. It’s so encouraging to see progress in the size of my body. Really grateful for the surgery.
  3. Mine is still going strong. This week, I finally put the scale away and have not been weighing myself everyday as I foolishly had been doing. I really expected to see some sort of drop this morning, but nothing. I'm honestly devastated. I'm walking everyday, keeping calories around 800 or less, drinking water. I started out with a quick 17 pound drop after being sleeved on 8/3 (SW 275, CW 252). I know the 3-week stall is real--how long did it last for you until you started dropping? I'm losing my mind here.

    August Sleevers-How are you doing??

I’m right there with you. Sleeved 8/3 at 275. Lost 17 pounds super fast, then slowly trickled in a few more pounds. Have essentially been at a stall since 8/20 eating around 800 cals a day or less. Current weight around 250. I know I’ve lost inches, it’s slightly visible, but I feel like the scale should be moving more at this point too. It’s truly maddening. I’m beginning to wonder if it’s just too few calories—but it’s so hard to eat.
  5. Mine has been happening since August 20th
  6. Do you think it's related to my age? I'm 39.

    I regret this surgery

I was sleeved on 8/3. I've hit the three week stall and definitely understand your general frustrations. Yesterday I had anxiety attack out of nowhere. Couldn't breathe, felt like crying. My patience is very thin. The heat is seriously effecting me, and I'm totally weak. Even taking my vitamins and hitting protein. I want to get back to exercising but I know I don't have the stamina for much right now . I'm sure it will get better, but wanted to share so you don't feel alone. I guess this hormone thing is for real. Hang in there.

    August Sleevers-How are you doing??

Hi. Sleeved on 8/3. Down 23 lbs since surgery. Have definitely hit the three week stall! I'm getting better everyday with getting in enough water, but struggling a bit with liquid protein--just kind of over it, but trying to work on it because I have struggled with feeling weak and tired. It's not been easy for me to take it slow, so I have to remind myself I just had surgery three weeks ago, and need to take better care of myself. I am also battling constipation, even taking benefited everyday and hitting 60oz fluids. Good luck to you!

    Week 5 recipes needed

I made these last night: http://www.delish.com/cooking/recipe-ideas/recipes/a51783/zucchini-enchiladas-recipe/ This is really good too, though I left out the grapes and celery: https://www.google.com/amp/www.foodrepublic.com/recipes/curried-chicken-salad-with-greek-yogurt-recipe/amp/

    Eating & Drinking Schedule?

Thanks! Something to consider. Water has been going much better--just a lot of focus. And yes, per my surgeon, beef was fine as long as I am tolerating it, which I am.
  11. I made some delicious low-carb broccoli beef in the slow cooker. Used light sodium soy sauce, and Splenda where it called for a bit of sugar. I cooked it extra long so the beef is just in tiny shreds, also allowed the broccoli to get really soft. I'm dying for crunch, but this has been a great meal to go to. I also made a curry chicken salad using rotisserie chicken and Greek yogurt in place of mayo. The curry seasoning helped mix things up for me. Try searching Pinterest for bariatric recipes--there are a ton of ideas! Good luck.
  12. Sleeved 8/3. Meet with my surgeon tomorrow for 2 week follow up and what should ideally be clearance to move on to soft solids. Down 17 pounds so far. The ricotta Bake has been good to me but I'll be happy to carefully explore different protein and plan-appropriate sustenance moving forward. Any recommendations on best soft cooked meats to try? I keep reading that chicken is difficult on the new tummy? Would love some ideas! (Ricotta Bake seen here modified from its original Italian inspired flavors to be a bit more Southwestern, Greek yogurt added for protein)

    Last Day of Purées!!

Yes. Well at least as far as I understood it was ok for me! And it did not give me any problems. Lifesaver!

    Last Day of Purées!!

Totally! I am so glad my surgeon is on the speedy schedule for me. I could not deal with exclusive liquids and purées much longer.

    Last Day of Purées!!

Of course! 8oz ricotta 1/2 cup cheese-- I used cheddar jack 1 large egg, beaten 1/4 cup fat free Greek yogurt 1/2 small can diced green chilies (mild) Salt and pepper to taste 1/2 cup shredded cheddar jack Lightly beat egg, add to all ingredients (except cheese for topping), mix well. Divide evenly into mini muffin tins. Top with remaining cheese. Bake at 450 for 20 mins. Serve topped with a dollop of ff Greek yogurt. I did not find chiles too spicy or upsetting in any way--everyone is different I'm sure. I did freak out a little with the skins on the green chiles, but they really are already so mushy. This recipe was very much based on Eggface's recipe, which I also enjoy: http://theworldaccordingtoeggface.blogspot.com/2007/08/pureed-foods.html?m=1 Though I used a sweet potato tomato sauce instead of marinara because I thought something less acidic would be a good idea (plus I just really enjoy the sauce): http://nataliaskitchen.net/sweet_potato_sauce/ Let me know how you like it!

    Last Day of Purées!!

It really is amazing to see how different surgeons prescribe pre and post-op plans. Good luck to you!
  18. Yes. I think so--it was pretty hot outside and I think I let hydration get away from me!
  19. No. No weight gain after surgery. Thanks!
  20. I was sleeved 8/3. I am down 17 pounds from 275 to 258 (I'm 5'7", age 39). I have no idea how that is in comparison, but I imagine everyone is vastly different. All of the sudden today after picking blackberries with my family, I feel crazy weak and tired. Almost weepy--like I just feel like crying. Sorry, went off on unrelated info there, I'm thrilled about 17 pounds, but feel very off today.
  21. I am 7 days post-op. I'm very surprised about the insomnia that has hit me. I'm very tired and pretty weak--returned to work yesterday, (desk job). But I've barely sleep at night since 3 days post-op--and not even napping.
  22. Are you eating solids yet our just purées right now?
  23. Hey. I was sleeved 8/3. A lot of the same fears. Plus I had a similar stabbing awful pain in my left side beneath my ribs. 2 GasX strips worked wonders. Plus, just walking up and down my hallway. Have you tried GasX yet? I had the unexpected bonus of my period coming early, and the cramping that came with it to add to everything, so it's been a hell of a few days!
