I’m 8 days post op and miserable. I hate the shakes, want to start purée’s. I’m having trouble getting my water in, also the calcium pill I ordered with my other vitamins I can’t get down at all, since surgery and since I can’t take large sips I’m having a lot of trouble swallowing pills. Going to order some chewable ones. My husband was home today so he was able to watch my 1 and 3 year old and I took a three hour nap, guess My body needed it! The pain is better though so that’s good lol. Have you tried Tylenol for the headache and upping her fluid intake ?

Lap-Band to Bypass - What Do You Wish You Would Have Been Told?
vanwest83 replied to ElleL's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I just had my revision last Monday. I’m 7 days post op. Be prepared that where they remove your port will probably hurt the most. The other sites didn’t hurt really at all but the port side looks like K was kicked multiple times big purple bruises. It’s also a different feeling. With my lap band I never felt full and was hungry by day 2. This time I really haven’t felt hunger pains . I’m starting to want to eat because I hate the protein shakes but other then that it’s been okay. -
I’m feeling better physically today but the pain has been very bad. Where they removed my port Hirt the worst. They had trouble taking it out.

I went home less then 24 hours after mine. I probably should of stayed. But I missed my bed and didn’t enjoy being awoken every few hours

I’m in Port St Lucie, so 4 hours south. I’m 5 days post op. I haven’t been the happiest camper but each day gets a little better. How are you feeling ?

It’s by far the best I’ve had. Since surgery all the shakes taste so sweet and awful. This has been such a depressing time for me. So the soup made me happy HW 367 SW 346 Revision from band to gastric bypass RNY on 11/6/17

Some hospitals have their own financing or take care credit. I would look into it. They are usually low in interest or no interest if you pay off the amount in the time allowed. HW 367 SW 346 Revision from band to gastric bypass RNY on 11/6/17

Congratulations! How are you feeling now? I just had my revision done on 11/6. I’ve been in a lot of pain and having trouble swallowing pills. Are you able to drink 64 oz water? So far I’m on my second water bottle and it’s 4pm and I managed to drink 11oz premier protein drink. This is such a strange thing for me, I’m so use to wanting to eat eat, and right now I could careless. Did you or anyone else have shooting pains near an incision site. I had surgery late Monday afternoon and still haven’t passed gas. I do seem to burp a little after drinking water. Having a really hard to drinking my fluids. I didn’t realize this surgery would be so painful. The side where they removed my port and lap band hurts so bad. I keep questioning why I did this to myself lol. jgat how are you doing on fluids ? I just had my band removed and converted to RNY on Monday. I’m at the point of recovery asking why I did this because I’m in a lot of pain. Everyone keeps telling me I’ll be happy in a few days to a week. I do have to say I haven’t felt hungry at all, so this is a big deal for me! I remember when I had the band put in and I felt hungry right away. I also failed my band and ate a lot of crap but decided I needed to make a change once and for all. I actually lost 21 lbs on the pre op diet they put you on for two weeks. HW 367 SW 346 Revision from band to gastric bypass RNY on 11/6/17 -
Well I’m able to post now because I can stay away for more then a few minutes. I have been super sleepy. They just have me my first protein shake so far I’ve had two medicine size cups and am tolerating it well. They had me walking last night. Have to get up today still. Doctor said I should be able to go home today which I’m happy about since it seems someone is always in my room. Not going to lie when I first woke up it was very painful. Took a few hours to get the pain under control. But seems a lot better today.

16 hours till I leave for the hospital! I've been on a clear liquid diet today. I've been keeping busy cleaning my house. I'm very nervous, haven't been put under in over 10 years.
-
Hi Stella! I'm also in Florida and had a Csection 13 months ago. I'm having surgery on Monday! Also a stay at home Mom. Where in FL are you ?
-
I'm starting to worry. I was told the hospital would call me with my arrival time today, not now it's 4pm and I haven't heard from anyone about Monday. Not even sure who I should call to ask [emoji22]
-
Also, I'm so over this diet [emoji22] lol

So I had my pre op labs done the other day and I don't know if I should be concerned my ALT levels are high at 31, max is 29. I'm confused because On 9/25 my ALT level was normal at 24. I don't understand how it all works but would of thought it would go down if I've been on a liver shrinking diet hope my liver isn't to large for surgery
-
When my doctors office submitted I received a letter in the mail from my insurance company a few days later(they had told me they submitted though) and when I received approval I received another letter
-
I was told I can't drink any vitamin water this week before surgery. So that sucks because I drink a lot of propel. I had my final pre op appointment with my surgeon today so now I'm all done till surgery. I'm super nervous not about after just if something will happen to me during. I'm down 15 lbs since starting the pre op diet. So hungry but I'm sticking to it. Good luck to everyone !

Me! Only 6 days to go for the big day for me!

Having surgery on November 6th and I've bought Premier Protein for my pre op diet but was wondering if their are any better tasting ones?
