Well it all depends. Your situation may be a bit different because the type of tumor may dictate when you have your surgery. Most doctors recommend not having any plastic surgery until a year after reaching your goal, because during that time the skin does regain some elastcity and shrink. Not all the way, but some what. Then the plastic surgery can achieve the best results. Now a tumor removal is something different. It is similar to a question I had about apron removal. If it needs to be done before all the weight is lost, then are you prepared to have more surgery when you have reached goal? If so than having the surgery before you reach goal is a fine thing to do. Is the tumor malignant? Or just a hinderance and a possible future risk?

leener this is a good thing. that judge has granted you the wish of being able to recreate your being, your soul, everything about you. My mother just celebrated her 2 years being divorced, and she has become a completely different person. She has grown up, taken charge, made her self extremely successful, and taken risks she was never allowed to take! She still hasn't gotten another man tho. :grouphug: I keep hoping she would find a 20-something year old too just for some kicks LOL I am glad you are happy. Stop the emotional eating, and Celebrate by doing something really special for yourself. A new outift? A day at the spa? A roadtrip somewhere special?

currently i am trying to stick to a 1200 calorie diet. this has let me lose about 5 pounds in the last week and a half to bring me down to 355. I drink a gallon of Water a day, and it has made my hair and skin start to clear up again. I am going to get some new Protein shakes, and my diet is going to be Protein Shakes for Breakfast, salad and a Protein shake for lunch, and a big salad and protein rich dinner. I am cutting out all sugar and flour from my diet. also switching from white rice to brown rice. and lots of veggies. Snacks with be veggies, salads with every lunch and dinner, and i am keeping chicken strips in the fridge for quick snacks as well. we'll see how it goes. I track my food on FitDay.com its a great site!! -

that made me smile. Thank you so much sweety!!! I have lost the 22 over a long period of time, and even gained back some of the weight i hafd lost. I was down to 330. But I am determined to lose and be at least 30 pounds lighter by the time my surgery comes, 50 if possible. I am going to do the May Gone For Good challenge, and I am IN IT TO WIN IT!! LOL -
Well the nice thing about doing that is that you are loaning yourself the money. and the intrest is being paid to you. so it really is a wise decision. it does not affect your credit, and the money is not going into a black hole somewhere. you are essentially getting the surgery for free. if we had enough in our 401k we would do that ourselves.

Ok pnut. here are my stats. H-372, S-July 28th, J-340, G-120, C-355

Scheduled for July 28th. What is hard is that I WAS scheduled originally for April 28th. I actually feel a little down with this weekend coming up and not being able to go to Mexico. I am so excited, that it just really sucks that I have to wait longer. -
Oh wheetsin!! I will keep your DH and his passengers in my thoughts. I am so sorry this happened! But thank goodness they are allright! Even the guy who is at fault! I really do hope that DH and the rest are able to recover from this, and that they won't consider your car totalled. If they do decide to repair instead of write off the car, one thing i can suggest is that you have THEM (the ins company) handle the repair and the payment. This way there is no haggling about the cost of the repair. I would definitely go to the other guy's insurance and have them cover as much as possible. And state up front that you are wanting a settlment amount above and beyond the repair bills, rental car, and everything else covered to take care of the pain and suffering, as well as to replace some of the items destroyed in the accident. And contact your home owners insurance if you want to claim the expensive gift and the watch. I think they typically handle items in the car that you own. Oh I do hope you are alright too. It is stressful to deal with, you feel helpless, like you have said. make sure to focus on DH, but set yourself some time too!! Take care hon!!

actually i think he said 6 weeks didn't he? I would def not be willing to try and stomach crunches for a long time after the surgery. i'd be too chicken i'd break the band lol i know i have heard that doing a lot of crunches before getting the band helps to ease back into them later on, and also helps to make it less painful when moving around after the surgery. could be just a rumor. but it sounds good.
-
That was fascinating!! I have not seen the other threads featuring vids. I think this is great! So informative, and really eye opening to see how it is done exactly. The interesting thing is to see them doing things that some have said is a bad idea. Like stiching the band into place. I have heard some speculate that this helps erosion occur. Don't really have an opinion on it myself, but it certainly is interesting to see them do it.

i used to play soccer, and was an avid runner. what you need to do is strengthen those shin muscles. it sounds weird, but it can be done. best if you have a machine, but if not then you can use a rubber band (the workout type) and anchor it to something or have someone hold it. then put your toes in the other end and flex your foot up. do that for a count, then flex out to the right, then to the left. do this on each foot 3 times for full counts each time. this will help to strengthen those muscles. and after a time it really does work! meanwhile alternate hot and cold packs on them after working out. the hot helps the blood flow to the area to repair the muscle, and the cold help keep them from being too sore and swelling and getting too tight. when stretching make sure you are not just stretching in the flex position. make sure you are also pointing your toes and stretching the shin muscles that way. shin splints are basically tight muscles that get tired just like the rest of our muscles. after they build up it is easier to prevent this from happening.

PUT THE ICE CREAM DOWN!!! STEP AWAY FROM THE ICE CREAM!!! I know how hard it is to control hunger when it is that time of the month. maybe you should try working out. it will get the blood flowing, and maybe even tire you out. What are you doing besides eating? are you just on the computer? It might be boredom that has caused you to do this.
-
sweety you can do this. something that i do when i am really hungry like that is to go and drink a couple of glasses of hot water. maybe even hot tea. This fills the tummy with warmth, which makes you feel full. it also helps to wash away any acid that may be triggering a little hunger, and the saliva that triggers hunger. The head hunger...you just have to fight it. and keep in mind how much you deserve to be healthy and thin. look around on the internet at workout sights, or even modelling sites. look at pics of skinny people!! LOL that is also something that really helps me to keep focused.

Ok, I am in for the may challenge. I am a damn member of this club but have been lacking on checking in on things. Can we post before and after pics in our updated posts too? Just out of curiosity to see what one month of really workin out will do. Super cool! Can't wait to get started Pnut!!

gotta be careful with the atkins bars though. many nutritionists are finding that eating those preprepared bars and stuff are actually still spiking people's blood surgar and making them more hungry. if you go to the atkins support group site, that is on atkins.com, you will see many of them preaching to stay as far away from atkins products as possible because it causes weight loss stalls. i think they taste great!! so it is hard to stay away. i think moderation is the key with these bars. I miss tiger bars. I have no idea if they still make them, and i know a lot of people didn't like the taste of them, but i loved their Peanut Butter and chocolate ones. great for right before a major workout! but then again that was before i was fat, and i never looked at the cals. they are prolly like 1000 cals and 1000 carbs LOL
-
oh i am so sending that to everyone i know LOL
-
well then i am gonna have to try a boca burger!! i know that gardenburger has mushrooms in them. oh boy was that a bad day.  :phanvan :speechles :sick
-
LOL yeah...a little weird that only LBTers would overnight food to each other. I thought we were supposed to STOP obsessing about food LOL
-
does boca use mushrooms to help with the consistency and flavor? cause if so, i can't eat them. I am allergic to mushrooms. plus i thought mushrooms were bad with the band. don't they swell and cause pb's?
-
Kat if you can't find it i can always overnight it to you. I can get boxes of the stuff in little individual packets. i could freeze them and then send them overnight to you with some ice packs. hopefully they would arrive ok. and they are great portion sizes too!!
-
i love that last one. lol
