Yeah...I have tattoos all over. Getting them all removed during this whole process too. LOL who ever said tattoos were forever? Yeah, I saw that the stats I grabbed were not updated, in all of my sleepy haste. So I will be updating them tomorrow morning. I was doing it now, but I think I am going to go crawl into bed, and do it when I have a fresh mind tomorrow. So everyone ignore my last message!! LOL -

Ok. I have done the updates for those who have posted. Take a look at the first page, and if your stats are wrong, let me know. Then on Wednesday we will do the final weight in before I leave for Mexico. I leave Thursday evening, so if you do not get your weigh in by then it will not be updated till after I get back. Thanks all!!! -

Hey all!! I am back home, and got to sleep all day today! Yay! I just got on, and made my progress pics for the challenge. I don't see much of a loss, except around the midsection. You be the judge. I am going to go and update the stats. Glad to see you all on your way over here. And to see some new faces. Thank you all for the congratz for winning the challenge. Hard work pays off. And i really feel good about myself. Now if I could only I could figure out how to put the award in my sig. LOL I can't wait to get Kat's gift for winning. It looks so cute!! Only 8 days till my surgery!!! I am starting to freak out, but that is normal for me. I will be picking up the gift for next month's challenge winner in Mexico. I will pick up something really nice. Promise. Hugs too all!! I hope everyone has a spectacular 4th of July!! Play safe, and enjoy the time you get off. -
So tell us true. Did you do a last supper? Was it the day before surgery? Did you have really bad gas pains? Or no problems whatsoever? Did the gas last for days? I am trying to figure out if there is a connection between the two. Its not like they giving you an enema before surgery. You may have some food waste still inside. And surgery to the gut shuts down the digestive system for a period of time. The walking stimulates it. The gas pains might be a result of "last supper" syndrome and I really want a last supper but I want less pain more. So dish. so to speak. What did you eat 24 hours before surgery? 48 hours before surgery? And what was your gas pain level?

Pnut has done a fantastic job!! I could never imagine trying to replace her. But she was hurt by this, and I feel really bad. She stated that she was taking a break from the challenge, but not from handling the upkeep of the threads. I assumed, and stepped in as a kind gesture only. Just to give her a break. That is all. But I did so without asking if she wanted me to. That was a bonehead move on my part. -
You go girl!! thinking about you a lot and I hope everything is going well!! Good luck, and I hope you enter banddom with no troubles!

Hey there folks. I have to make an apology to you all, but I mostly have to apologize to Pnut. I made an error in judgement by creating this thread. This is Pnut's baby, and it was not my place to assume that she was not going to do it, or try to take on the duties for the month to give her a break. it was something that i needed to discuss with her first. I didn't. My heart was in the right place, but my head was not. I have been under a lot of stress and living on caffeine for the last 2.5 days, and was not thinking clearly. I am so sorry Susan. Truly I am. I could not replace you, not in a million years, and I never would have done something that i thought you would take offense to. So y'all, I want you to know that I feel just awful that I made Pnut upset, and that I came across as replacing her. I have a feeling some others perceive this to be my intentions, and they would be wrong. I gladly hand this back over to Pnut, or whom ever she would like to have handle it. I am backing away. This place is consuming too much of my time, and now has messed up a very dear friendship that I once had. I will be away with my upcoming surgery, anyway. Amy -

Karla, life does seem to get in the way sometimes doesn't it? LOL No worries. When you are more settled then we can support you in losing again. I hope the move goes well!! I hate moving. LOL Heather, thanks...I will update it now for you. -
In my studying I have learned that even though you are not filled does not mean that you will not have restriction. There is still a band around your stomach. It will restrict the bites and the amount of food that you are putting in there, if only slightly. I agree with the others. Slow down, take your time, and try to chew your food as much as possible.

Star Jones....leaving "the view"
FunnyDuddies replied to piercedqt78's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Well shoot, my daughter should do wel in her modelling career then. I swear it was like delivering a watermelon with a baby attached! LOL I agree that her face seems very large and flat since she lost the weight. I have noticed this on other weight loss patients. At first I thought it was an issue of just knowing the person when they were heavy (by sight) and then the huge difference after losing. But then I met some people who had the same look, and al of them have had GB. I never new them before when they were heavy. I guess you can lose a fat butt, but you can't lose a fat head. LOL -
Dody, I wish you the best, and hope that you recover well from both surgeries. Congratz on getting the band surgery moved up. Make sure that you get plenty of water, and try to move around as much as possible. Don't want to add blood clots to your list.

I need ideas for week 3 TLBC post-op diet
FunnyDuddies replied to Buffie's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
here is my smoothie recipe: 1 banana 1 cup of ice 1 cup of no sugar added 100% apple juice 1/4 cup blueberries 1/2 cup strawberries blend really well. add apple juice to thin. you get in all the fruit you need, it provides Fiber and is chock full of Vitamins. Again, don't worry about the calories. when you get up to 900-1200 cals a day you will lose. trust me. Time2live...I get the sugar free popcicles from walmart. They are in a bight yellow box. Look for the ones that have superheroes, or the rockets, or the crayons. Then look around to find the sugar free pocicles, creamcicles, and no sugar added fudge pops. The sugar free pops are about 10 cals each, creamcicles are (i think) 15 cals, and the fudgcicles are 20 or 25 cals each. I have been eating them on my liquid preop diet. Honestly, my appetite is so gone it is hard to look at them now. LOL but i am sure I will love having them after surgery. -
Has anyone heard from Beecheegirl????

just that. it is light, fruity, and sweet. It isn't so much flowery in my opinion. Not like a rose or gardenia. It is really light in smell, and I don't mean like you are not wearing any no matter how much you put on. It is so hard to describe. But the next time you go into VS take a look at it. they have other great smells, but this is the best in my opinion. Its the purple line. and they have a lot that comes in that smell.
-
Oh playing walmart was my answer!! LOL Actually it was! LOL My kids LOVE the Iron beads. We have about 6 of those buckets. And they have been spilled so many times. I think there is now a bunch of coins and buttons in there with them too. One craft project the kids really love lately are the little metal frames that you fill with colored pieces of plastic, then bake. the plastic melts and it creates a suncatcher. We also do the paint ones. Emily loves the painting ones. andy tries to eat the little plastic pieces that are supposed to melt. So that is his favorite. He thinks it looks like colored cookie sugar. We also do felt projects. And some other stuff. Let me see if i can come up with some ideas for you. They like to draw pictures on contruction paper, then they get the colored pipe cleaners and little colored fuzzy balls and glue them to the paper to fill in their drawings. We have fluffy flowers all over our windows. They also make animals with construction paper, cut them out (we have safe scissors that only cut paper), put googly eyes on them, and glue popcicle sticks to the back to make puppets for a show. then the kids rehearse a show and play it out for daddy when he gets home. Again with the construction paper. Or you can take pages from a coloring book. Cut squares out of colored tissue paper. Pour some glue on a plate. Get a pencil and wrap the tissue paper around the eraser end. Dip in the glue and then place on the page. Pull the pencil away and you have a tissue paper "flower" coming up from the page. Do this a lot close together to fill in any area. Again...we have lots of fluffy and tissuey flowers in our windows. LOL um...we spent a week where they had to find a bunch of stuff that was 2 inches or smaller. then we made shadow boxes and put them all in there. It is amazing to see what their eyes are drawn to, depending on their personality. this is a great way to find out what their main intrests are, and what their favorite color truly is. Emily's is full of money. LOL Even a $5 bill she found when we were doing laundry. that is part of the rules. And she gets to keep whatever she finds. She actually found a $100 bill in daddies pants, and refuses to give it back. It went right into her allowance jar. LOL We bought some cheap vases (little ones) at walmart, and got some glass glue. I let the kids paint them, and we put little votive candles in them and gave them away for christmas gifts last year. the year before we made the actual candles. Emily loves that. Andy was too young to care. Keep in mind that this is a 3 and 4 year old doing these (almost 4 and 5) so don't be turned off by the crafts thinking they are for older kids. They may not turn out pretty, but they are fun, and the kids have so much pride in them.

Fishy and Sherri...are you as nervous as me?? LOL I had my neighbor/trainer come over for coffee today (mind was decaf...yuck) and he is so proud of me and cannot wait till I am home. I had an incident today where my dog got out of the house and made a run for the 6 lane freeway 6 blocks from my house. And I ran after him. I ran the whole way! I can't believe it. I would have never had been able to do that before. And I never thought I could run that far. I am not making light of the situation, but I have told people that if I was there at 9/11 on the streets below the towers, I would have died, cause i would not have been able to make it enough blocks from the time the planes hit till the towers came down. (don't hate me for that analogy. But that is stuck in my head when I see the pictures of people running for their lives.) Now I know I can take care of myself, and more importantly be of help to my family in a crisis situation. you have no idea how that makes me feel. And my neighbor/trainer saw me running after the dog. He literally hugged me and cried when I got home. He was just amazed! And he knows what this means to me. 11 days!!! OMG!!! LOL We take the kids up to North Carolina tomorrow night, and return Saturday night. then we are childless till we get back from Mexico. What do we do with the time?? LOL

Yup. Urban legend. But if you can document that your extra skin is causing rashes, skin infections, or discomfort then your insurance might be able to cover it. Good luck!!

JQPUBLIC!!! So glad you are here! I will update the list to include you. Would you like to tell us a little about yourself? When you were banded? How your weight loss has been? What your current goal is? I have to say your weight loss is an inspiration!! Congradulations on it! I didn't even realize what your totals were till I was adding you to the list. LOL Good job!!! -
Speaking of our July board... Emilee made the comment that I should post the link here, and that is such a great idea i thought i would do just that. hehehe So here is where you can go for the July GFG thread. http://www.lapbandtalk.com/showthread.php?t=20375 I will be updating the totals and the honors post on Friday. I will be out of town then till Sunday. If you see that your weights and loss (or gains) are not correct please pm me or just put a message in the July thread. I will update it. I also mentioned there, but will do the same here, that even though the challenge is not going to take place in July, you are still welcome to keep a scorecard on the July board and keep it updated to show us your outstanding achievement! It might also serve as a way to keep yourself accountable. It is up to you completely. I think I might do it after my surgery just to keep myself up on my Water, and to also keep myself going in regards to workouts. I know I can't do the workouts i am doing now, but I can walk for 30 minutes by gummit so I need to remain faithful to myself with that. If you feel that you want to do this copy and paste your card from here, switch it up, make it yours. I will not be posting a scorecard in that thread, just to keep things simple. I want to give huge hugs to everyone. I had an NSV today of slightly major proportions. LOL My dog got out today, and he is a border collie. Little (#%^(# can run! And run he did...straight toward the 6 lane road a few blocks from our house. And guess what...I ran after him! I ran all the way there. I was out of breath, but I ran the whole way there, and caught him. It didn't even hit me till I got back and my trainer, wholives next door to me, came over and told me he saw me. He gave me the biggest hug and was actually crying!! A grown man...crying cause his neighber, and trainee, can run again. And it made me cry. And I have to say it is this group right here that has made me get as far as I am without the band today. You all have no idea the impact that you have made on my life. I am sure it wasn't pretty, but I ran today for a full 6 blocks, and I feel so good about it!! Thank you all for the gift you have given to me. I love you all, truly.

Thanks Tricia!! I wanted a place for all of us GFG'ers to still congregate and update our stats. Just because we don't have the challenege going doesn't mean the club is defunct!! Emilee, I will do that. It is a very good idea. Thank you. Joyce, I will update your totals. I am sure GA will give you all the heat you need to sweat it off girl! :girl_hug: Just think...in a little while you and I can fit into some sexy baseball outfits and you can come down here and gawk at the braves during spring training. They'll be lining up to sign autographs for us. LOL "Hey Chipper!! Come here!" One other thing...I think those who wish to keep scorecards here just to keep their stats and make an easy place for accountability are more than welcome to do so. We will be bringing the Challenge back in August, but that does not mean that you should not challenge yourself. So feel free to post a scorecard. Let us see how well you are doing. And keep it as a reminder of what rules you should be following. You can get a scorecard in last months thread on the first page. http://www.lapbandtalk.com/showthread.php?t=19195 Alright GFG!!! Lets lose those pounds!!! -
oh say it isn't so!! I will not be able to go without asparagus. I have to have that. It is my fav veg and has so many good properties.
