Oh I don't mind if this thread gets too big. I want to keep all the christmas stuff in one thread so that we keep our seasonal craziness from overloading the lounge. LOLI wouldn't want anyone to get annoyed that there are too many christmas threads this far from christmas. Those pics are great tho!!! I have a lot of uses for some of them. Something I am doing this year is taking some left over wrapping paper with christmas images, and decoupaging the cutout images onto large glass ornaments. Modpodge has a glittery version that is really nice for this. I am doing sets of six, and the family is signing them, then we are giving them away as our family gift this year.

FunnyDuddies replied to FunnyDuddies's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Quiet weekend around here. I hope that everyone is quiet because of some fun activities and lots of family time. I got on the scale today and I have been consistantly losing .5 a day it seems. So we will see what wednesday's weigh in brings. I am hoping for a really strong number. :Banane56: Hugs to all my GFG'ers. May all your scales read lower. -

I know that when I was pregnant and I was craving something, the doctor said to give into it, as long as it was along healthy lines. I couldn't eat all the chocolate and potato ships I wanted. But he believed that cravings were a way of the body needing something. Women who crave iron during their pregnancies though have been known to get such strong cravings they eat weird things, like raw liver, dirt, and laundry detergent. -

There are no deaths related to the band. So you have no worries. There ARE deaths directly related to other weight loss surgeries. -
I am on mushies now, and wanted to share for those having trouble getting in their protein. I eat Breakstone's 2% cottage cheese. They come in these little 4oz snack size containers that are perfect bandster portion. Each 4oz container has 90 calories, and 11 grams of protein!!! 11 grams in one little container! It is a good thing. Check it out. I got mine at walmart.

YAY!!!!! That is AWESOME! I am so happy for you! And I think it is really cool to start your journey!

walk for the next 6 weeks, then hire a personal trainer. Heck, I would even wait 8 to 10 weeks on the personal trainer and just test your body for those 2 to 4 weeks after you are given the all clear. A personal trainer may want you to jump into a full routine, and that might not be good for your still healing body. Just take it slow!!

:bump: :bump: :bump: :bump: :bump: My mom came into town yesterday, and omlettes are her fave Breakfast. I knew that with the kids, a quick breakfast that is fun was in order!! We made these this morning and they were FABULOUS!! We used the Glad double zip freezer bags, which are made to also go in boiling Water and in the microwave, and they turned out perfect!! I grated some cheese, chopped up a red, green and yellow bell pepper, and some on the vine tomatoes, and my egg I made with 3 egg whites, and one yolk from one of the eggs. It was so yummy!! And my mother thought it was a fabulous quick and no mess way of making an omlette. And we used paper plates, so in the end we had no dishes except for the forks! The potof water was dumped out and set out to dry.

Did you have the fat free kind? Cause that type is NASTY! But the 2% is really yummy, and has a wonderful smooth flavor.

Definitely full. I thought it was a wierd feeling too. And I was unsure of it. But now that I know what it is I go very slowly or that tightness can turn to pain!!

Surgery Scheduled with Dr. Sanchez!!
FunnyDuddies replied to GonnaDoIt's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
You are going to LOVE Dr. Sanchez! Sherri and I were banded on the same day (July 10th) by Dr. Sanchez, and it was the best experience for me! I wish I could use him for all of my medical issues LOL He is fabulous, his staff is fabulous, and I could not have asked for an easier time with recovery! I feel so supported by him and his staff, and I know that if I have any problems I will be well taken care of. -
oh my that sounds very good. I think I need to go shopping!! LOL

Damn, hit away girl! Nothin wrong with flirting, with either sex IMHO. Doesn't mean it goes anywhere, and I swear it makes you more confident. LOL I have caught the flirt bug HARDCORE since I started my journey, and the band for some reason has also doubled my confience. I am a danger to myself and others now. LOL -
oooo we're in! We'll bring the scotch and I am pretty sure that Pnut has some wine left over. Well....maybe she doesn't. LOL Congratz Tricia!!! That is awesome! I hope all the headaches are gone and that the closing goes really smoothly!
-
Ok, snuck some time in. The wish list is updated! If you do not see a loss total for this week, it is because you either just joined, or you have not weighed in. There are a lot of people who have not weighed in. Lets see those weights people!!

Here is what I suggest. Get a full grown og from a shelter. Look for one that exhibits housebroken tendancies. the volunteers can help you find this. Also look for a dog that is maybe not a hyper type of dog. When you find the perfect dog, buy a crate. Make sure you get this before, or on your way home with the new dog. Introduce him to it, and make sure that you have treats for rewarding him. You want the dog to be crate trained for the time that you are gone. Are you close enough to school to come home for lunch once a day to let him out? If not, its ok. Alot of dogs go 8-9 hours during the day in their crate, but just make sure you get home and let him out. Another idea is setting up a kennel in your backyard, with a bucket of Water, a dog house, and an area for him to go potty. These are your two choices. A puppy will NOT be able to handle you being gone all day for quite some time. I suggest you steer away from getting a puppy. If you do decide to get a puppy, you will nee to put him in day care till he is about 1 yr old so that he gets the exercise and time outsie that he needs in that first year.
