I'm sorry for my wrong assumption. Usually people are more afraid of what they do not know, or have not experienced. I guess I ahve seen more powerful storms in my life in Okinawa than what comes through here. I know that good construction and good preparedness makes for an easy ride out. I am not making light of anything, though. Please do not mistake my ease at understanding I have NO CONTROL over the weather for just not caring. But I do not see the need to become alarmed at these things either. I am glad that your customers had someone there to show them how to hook up a generator. I could not do that job, because my whole day would be shot trying to explain things to frazzled people who should have been prepared before a storm came, but were too lazy to do so. I would not last in that job, I would have turned mean and mad. But that is just me. I am a big one on responsibility. And you live here, you are responsible for how you handle a disaster.

Why won't US doctors do fills on bands done in Mexico?
FunnyDuddies replied to francesbabb's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I want to second fill centers usa. They have a great price plan, and will set you up well with someone in your area. -
Yes, I lived in Hawaii. Lived there for 4 years. I have had losses due to natural disasters. I have had two homes burn down, one due to wild fire, I have been through various storms, earthquakes, floods, blizzard that brought down the roof and an ice storm that brought a tree through a family home in North Carolina. I am not non chalant. Anything over a cat 2 and I am out of here. But you gotta understand...I live in florida where most of the time our afternoon thunderstorms are stronger than most of the hurricanes that come through. I have seen water spouts while fishing and had no where to go. Its something you live with when you live here. I think that being smart, being prepared, and having a plan is better than an alarmist attitude (not saying anyone here is being alarmist). I just think that calm cool thinking, and going with the flow is the best situation. I have lived all over the world. And lived in many states in this country. There are natural disasters everywhere. You just have to know where the threats are and how do deal with the consequences. I am a firm believer in taking care of yourself. If you live in an area where hurricanes come through, be prepared to due some rebuild. We are. We are heavily insured, and have evac plans and supplies. We know that if anything happens it is just an act of nature, and we would rebuild and live on.

I too must add my name to the list of hair losers. It is coming out in massive amounts when I shower. and the top is quite thin. I have nightmares about too. LOL I think i am just going to wear a bandana for as long as possible, then cut it short like Telly. I think that will be a good look for me. Plus I can wear sexy wigs to the club. LOL

wanna fight about it? :D :boxing::fencing: lol

TOM I am assuming you are no where in the south. this storm is quite a yawner to a lot of us here. LOL Its not going to be strong at all. the last two hurricanes that we have been through, both my husband and I drove to work in, and so did most of his office. Its not a party till its a Category 3 or higher. Everything else is just a rain storm.

TELLY!!! What happened to our freak threads girl? We need to revive the sexual revolution in this place! LOL
-
dawg you should be taken out and shot. lol that too is my pet peeve.
-
it is a love it or leave it situation. what is hard is when an entire state does the right thing, but a few stay behind, and don't heed warnings, then want to complain about how bad they have it after the storm. You didn't have to stay, and you shoulda gotten insurance. so tired of that crap.

I have lived around volcanos, tornadoes, hurricanes, typhoons, flood plains, earthquakes, mudslide areas and wild fire areas. I would gladly take hurricanes and typhoons anyday over the rest. You see them coming, if you aren't stupid you leave before anything over a cat 2 gets to you, you have insurance for your home, no matter how much it costs, and all is well. its a completely preparable disaster. sure it is touch sometimes, but it is a hell of a lot safer than the other natural disasters you find in this country.
-
To who? The people who had their homes whipped around? Or the ones that are about to have their homes whipped around. It comes with the territory. We all know what natural disasters might befall us, and take the risk living where we do. Personally I am hoping for a HORRIBLE hurricane season, and want to see a storm come through here badly. It might sound like a bad thing. But we desperately need something to drive down the property prices here, and a strong hurricane season will do that. Then we can get into a home for cheaper. LOL

LOL actually...the latest models have it coming straight for Tampa. Then across the state. Hurricane party at my place!!

Yeah...just like every year.

Just wondering why so many go to Mexico for banding?
FunnyDuddies replied to shell04937's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I went to Mexico for a number of reasons. First...Insurance didn't cover it. Ok...I make a more than decent living so i could afford to go to a local doc and pay out of pocket. But in investigating docs in Mexico because of info from this site I found that I actually trusted Dr. Sanchez more than the docs here. No one had the same experience with placing the band than Dr. Sanchez, and his rate of complication was WAY lower than those of the local docs. the man has placed over 6000 bands. that is more than any other doctor I have heard of. The hospital he practices out of is also one of the nicest in mexico, and honestly was nicer than any hospital I have been to here in the states. I even gave birth in a hospital rated the #3 hospital in the country, and the hospital in mexico was nicer than that one. I felt totally at ease, the surgery went well, everything was taken care of and I couldn't be happier. I have chosen a doctor here to get my fills done, and I get my first fill on the 6th of september. It is with Flouro, and the cost is only $200. bonus! -
LOL 121 days till christmas baby!!!

LOL do we need to revive the sex thread? I am full of good ideas and crazy stuff. LOL I even learned a few new things while I was away. did you know you can do it in less than 2 minutes, and still have it be mindblowing?!?! LOL Talk about having a crazy work schedule!
-
oh my you guys. this is so sweet. LOL I actually had to postpone my fill cause of my daughter being sick. had to take her to the docs and the only time available was when my fill was scheduled. So I rescheduled for sept 6th, the day before my daughters birthday. I have been really busy, and needing a break from here, not to mention dealing with family issues and weirdness. But I am calm and cool and back. Looks like I missed all the fun too! LOL I appreciate the wondering and the looking out for me. Its all cool, and I am back.
