FROM SIZE 14/16 to 4/6 10 mo. Post Op
Tracy4 replied to ThickGirl5683's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I agree, and I am trying to remember I have lost inches and put on muscle, but the np at the doctors office, had me for a loop! My last visit, she said, "oh you have only lost 9 pounds in 3 months" but never said wow 80 pounds gone! So it through me off, like I should have done better. When she asked what my goal was and I said to keep off the weight I have lost and maybe another 20 pounds, she stated 30 would probably be better. I was at a loss -

Congrats!!! I have to ask, how did you keep going?? I started at 266 end of May, I am at 186...and the scale has not budged in two months. Last week, I went back to protein shakes and bars and light dinner and still scale has not moved. I am working out 5-6 days a week. I thought maybe muscle gain, because I am at a size 14 and last time I weighed this I was at a size 16. But the doctor seems it should be a piece of cake ( no pun) to loose another 30 pounds. I am soo struggling right now and any advice would be amazing! Keep up the great work! -
11 months post op and hungry every half hour...I am freaking out!!
Tracy4 replied to up4challenge's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 6 months out and going through the same struggle. Even though I don't eat alot at one sitting, I am noticing I graze and pick all day long. I started at 266 and I am at 189, and haven't lost anything in a month, I have been exercising 6 times a week and I feel like I am stuck. I did start logging all my food etc on a bariatric app and also on the Atkins app to see what I am doing right/wrong. It has helped. Any advice from people who have hit walls will help! -
I am 3 1/2 months post opt, maybe not a mentor, but a buddy! I'm at a stall point right now, things are going well! Feel free to message me

Ice chips ice chips ice chips! The only thing that saved me from dehydration.... lots of cups of ice... they made me feel sooo much better

I am three and a half months post opt and totally understand where you are coming from! The only person I told was my husband and kids. I didn't want anyone to know, I didn't want them to try and talk me out of it or hear any stories they had heard or read online🙄 The day before my surgery, I let my close family know, and then just went in he next day and had it done. The people work with still don't know I had the surgery, I told them it was something else, I work with mostly men so they don't even notice what I'm eating or drinking most of the time! At first I thought I had ad axe the biggest mistake! He first few weeks were rough, but now I am so glad I did it! I'm here if you need anything or have any questions

You know you lost weight when

When you go running up the stairs at night to bed and your thighs clap together and cheer you on!! Happened two nights ago... -
I felt exactly the same way! Like omg what have I done! This is ridiculous, I should have just dieted!! However, I say that because I knew I could cheat on a diet, this prevents you from doing that! Now I am glad I did it, I am 3 1/2 months out, down 71 pounds and feel great! Sleeping better and just started to exercise. I do take a bit here and there of sweets or something I am craving, but honestly, I don't even like the taste, its more of changing my state of mind. I know I have lost a bunch and have gone from a 24 to a size 14-16, but I still feel bigger, I don't even have an urge to clothes shop, I just wear my stuff really big stuff and I think that feeling will change too. Its a roller coaster, but I think in the end and for your health you will see it was for the best

I am over this stall and becoming frustrated
Tracy4 replied to lilbigprsn's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am an 3 months post op and have stalled at least once each month, I notice it around my period, but then I also, check my food log and go back to basics, protein shake for at least one meal a day, and more fluid. Has gotten me moving all three times! Good luck -
I a man almost 3 months post op and I have had the same thing starting after surgery the very first night in the hospital! I find smaller meals more frequent definitely help. I still can't fit 8 ounces of anything in at a meal! Also, try staying with more protein

Was that weight all lost after surgery? Are you exercising and what are you eating? Curious, I'm stuck lol

Those sound good! I will research those today! My problem, I hate reheated meat so everything I make is either eaten when I make it or something I can have cold. I just went to the grocery store and bought a rotisserie chicken and that will last me several meals and can be eaten cold and on salad..

I am eating between 300-500 calories. I can't fit anymore. I still have a protein shake or scrambled eggs for breakfast. I'll eat soup, salad with grilled chicken or a protein bar for lunch and just a small dinner of mostly meat and veggies. I can't fit a lot of food. I find it much better to track with the Atkins app, it's free to use and download. I also do a lot of sugar free fudgesicles, hello and puddings. I started walking a few weeks ago, not far and about 20 minutes a few times a week, and I swim. I'm going to sound so bad, but I have small 2 pound weights that I use to do arm exercises while I'm watching tv at night.. like I mentioned I don't have a lot for energy but I just figured it's something!
-
I haven't even told anyone at my work that I had the surgery. I have had comments from people like, oh you've lost weight, your such a pretty girl and if you lost more 🙄 As you can tell I work with mostly men! I am trying to exercise but just not a lot of energy... just keep trucking!

No Regrets ---but this is 'no fun'
Tracy4 replied to Nanasha's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm 9 weeks out, 57 pounds down, and at first hated it, but learned to realize food isn't life! I lived to eat, now I spend my time doing other stuff! I always keep a protein bar on hand at all times, quick meal, and they taste good! I haven't changed my cooking yet. I have a family of 4, we always ate mostly healthy and I just pass on bread and carbs. Eat the meat and veggies only.. and if we order out salad with grilled chicken or soup. Always have at least 2-3 meals in take out. So that's my lunch/dinner for the next day... -
panicking about post-op side effects...
Tracy4 replied to MrsTesla's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
9 weeks post opt, down 57 pounds and absolutely so glad I did it!! I hit panic mode Day of surgery but that was quickly gone once I got to the operating room. The first two weeks sucked, but week 3,4,5,6,7,8,9 sooo glad I did it! You will have ups and downs, but it isn't as bad as everyone thinks. Everyone posts bad stuff for sympathy, no one really posts he good stuff because they are out enjoying themselves! You will be great! -
Who else is dying of thirst!!!!!

I have a cup of crushed ice, every chance I get! I was/am drinking lots of water but the ice made me not feel dehydrated -
I'm 9 weeks out and down 57 pounds. But getting bored with food and not sure if I am even eating the right things. I use the Atkins app to count calories and carbs and I max my calories at 500. I'm hungry but can't stand more than two-three bites of food
