  1. I too am in the same boat. Sleeved 8/15 pre surgery weight was 356.6 (I'm 5'3") I lost about 19 before surgery and 56 total now. Doing ok with protein but definitely not with water. Not sure why it's such a struggle for me. Feeling better so hopefully ill increase my activity levels and see if that keeps me moving along. Went through a stall already, don't want another one!
  2. Same boat... sleeved 8/15 down 55lbs and stopped my metformin and BP meds shortly after surgery hoping in dec when I go to pulmonologist I lose the CPAP!!! Also less back pain so I'm able to slowly increase activity all positive steps and in the right direction

    Solids

Week 5 I started solids... lean ground turkey party, cheese sticks, very lean hamburger patty, chicken. Not very adventurous with trying new things though. I agree, couldn't do the canned chicken!!! 😳 And it doesn't help I'm sure that I eat no fish.
  4. Thank you BigAussieGirl!! I'm certainly trying!! Best of luck to you! I look forward to hearing about your success!! 👍🏻😀
  5. Congrats to you and your awesome attitude! I was sleeved on 8/15 and since my preop diet on 7/29 I'm down 53.4 lbs Feeling better with less back pain and able to walk further. I too was hoping it would be more. I have about 200 to lose, well now about 147lbs lol I know as I feel better I can increase my activity. I don't feel I could/should eat less. I literally have 2 small meals a day and a protein shake so I'm comfortable with the amount of food I'm intaking. But more activity I'm hoping will make a difference. On a positive note, I'm thrilled with a 50 lb loss. Have never lost anything like this in my life!!!! Keep working hard! We can do this!!!

    Solid food

I agree I'm six weeks out and cannot do much more that about 3.5 oz of lean ground turkey or chicken with a handful of green beans Have a shake for bkfst and solids for lunch and dinner trying not to snack much
  7. The day I got my date and started my liquid two week diet I was 356.6 (I'm 5'3") BMI was 62 needed it below 60 required by the hospital. On surgery day I was about 335 today I was 305.4 give or take a bit long road ahead but I feel I'm making small steps in the right direction!!!
  8. I'm 6 weeks post op and down 52.4 lbs i have a LOT more to lose and I don't see it on myself much. I feel it because I'm not in as much pain and not so out of breath but I feel some people are giving me false praise but oh well. Keep working hard friends, we can do this!!!!
  9. I felt the same... think I was a little disillusioned about what weight loss would be like and I agree, this cost me $23,000 so I was a little disheartened. Then I looked at the big pic. I stared preop diet on 7/29, sleeved on 8/15 lost a total of 51.6 lbs which I've never EVER done in my life. I get sidetracked because I have SO much weight to lose but I need to not look at the big picture and take it one day at a time
  10. I stalled around week three too. Saw the dr today for my 5-6 week post op visit. Down 48.8 lbs since started pre op diet. Managing about 3-3.5oz of a turkey burger or chicken now. Still struggling to get the water in but overall they were pleased with my progress. Hoping my stall doesn't revisit.....
  11. I do not. Been using milk of magnesia and a stool softener which I stopped because it's a pill and my drs office said pills shouldn't be larger than a tic tac. So yesterday I got miralax and took a dose. It is the only "struggle" I'm currently having.
  12. I'm having big issues with constipation. The more I tell myself not to "strain" the more I feel like I do. Def not getting my water in. Really need to focus on that! Sleeved on 8/15
  13. I am having the same issue... was sleeved on 8/15 and was able to start stage 5 last Tuesday. I usually have a protein shake for bkfst, did a 3.5 oz piece of chicken for lunch with a tiny amount of canned green beans and had a 3.5 oz turkey burger for dinner. Fat free cheese stick with the burger. Doing fine with protein I think, not with getting water in. Constipation is a continuing issue which I'll address with the dr at my 5 Week appt Wednesday. Down 48lbs since preop started 7/29
  14. My sleeve was 8/15 and I felt a little nauseous from the anesthesia... once I got to my room and slept a little I felt 100% better i was walking wishing 5 hrs and able to take small sips of broth. Only broth and water stayed down. LOL Home on day 3... been doing ok since. Due to pain in my back and knees I don't get much exercise in but as I keep losing that is getting better. Walked 1 mile the other day. A first!!!

    First cheat since pre-op

Thanks... I won't beat myself up. The drastic changes I've made since my ore op diet started on 7/29 shock me. I've never worked so hard st something before LOL Need to keep trying to get the water in. I definitely miss my carbs and some of my old favorites but I'm feeling better, so that wins!!!
  16. Ugh I teach 8th grade and had a very long day today and an open house tonight. Was just temped and gave in and ate 15 goldfish crackers. Chewed until they were nothing but the salt and the crunch will get me through the night! sleeved 8/15, down 42 lbs since started preop diet on 7/29 good luck everyone!
  17. I also was told I drinking 30 min before and 30 after which is a challenge cause I want to drink, yet struggle the rest of the day to get my liquids in... crazy. im eating more solid foods, turkey burger for dinner last night with a small amount of fat free cheese. I manage about 3.5 oz burger and a few soft veggies. Takes about 35 min to eat that. going to a support meeting wed so I'm looking for ideas because the dr said to eat low fat, low sugar others say watch carbs but the yogurt recommended in my plan is cannon Greek triple zero but has 15g carbs which I thought was kind of high. So im sticking to the lean turkey for burgers, egg beaters with fat free ham for now until I can figure out how to be more creative without blowing the fat or carb count!
  18. I too cannot handle the isopure. It actually caused me to vomit twice in the hospital. I can easily do the Premier chocolate shakes and they're 30g each. They're not awful... good luck 😁
  19. Since coming home (sleeved on 8/15) I've taken the anti ulcer pill every day and the chewable bariatric fusion vitamins suggested by my surgeon. I don't take other meds. Definitely having issues with constipation and was wondering if an over the counter stool softener pill is ok to take??? I'm also taking milf of magnesia (liquid) but definitely need more assistance. Thoughts???? Thanks

    First cheat since pre-op

I definitely will!!! It was the first time I strayed from my plan since I started preop on 7/29 So I'll will regroup and move on thanks for the Input
  21. My surgeon has me start on day 14 post op (sleeved on 8/15) They recommended bariatric fusion. One chewable 4x a day. now if I can only remember to take them! Ugh!

    Soft/ puréed doods

I have a X-ray question. I'm in stage 4 (sleeved on 8/15) had small pieces of chicken tonight and about 6 small green beans. on my list from the nutritionist it says I can have fat free ricotta. Being Italian, can I add fat free egg beaters and a little fat free mozzarella and Parmesan to make it more like manicotti filling? The plain fat free ricotta is tasteless..... the fat and calorie count would still be low...
  23. Ugh at a hotel. Have a shake with me I'm saving for lunch and the ride home. Hotel breakfast eating 1 egg (avoiding the yolk) and about 1/3 cup special K in fat free milk I'm letting turn to mush.... i need to get home where I have my supplies went to outback last night and ate a very tiny amount of potato soup. It was the only thing on the menu I knew would go down easy. back on track when I get home!!!!
  24. Same with me... premier 11iz shakes take about 15 min but I could go faster water is another issue for some reason. Prior to my sleeve (8/15) I would drink all day. Now I'm lucky to get in 25-30oz Not sure why.... need to keep working on it
  25. I was sleeved on 8/15 started puréed last week. I can get in about 1/3 cup of egg beaters, just started adding a little fat free ham and cheese into it but it takes about 45 min and then I'm full. struggling with the water needed.... don't seem to be thirsty yet I used to drink water like a fish!
