Apple203 replied to norahilda82's topic in Pre-op Diets and Questions
Hi Nora, do you mean psychological? If so, my understanding is that you have to do an extensive questionnaire then interview. But mine isnt until next week, so I dont know first-hand. Hopefully others will weigh in. -
Vitamin Supplements 1st 3 Months
Apple203 replied to Apple203's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The nutritionist said (without actually saying) that BA's chews were what she tends to grab in her office. -
Hey BPs, The topic at this month's pre-surgery diet class was vitamins supplements in the first 3 months, e.g. chewables or powders. Someone in the elevator on the way down had sampled a chewable and we were both gagging (and giggling) at how awful it was. Recommendations?? Our practice offered 2 chewable options and 1 powder option, but we can bring other options in for approval.

Bunny these are the only brands that meet their specs. Note that the liquid form on the right requires the additional B-12 supplement. -

I don't really get the Tespo concept -- why do you need the Keureg-like machine to dispense the liquid? -

I feel oddly dirty for engaging in this thread... devolvement. I will bow out now, with the hope that the OP doesn't bail on the forum because of the bad behavior and thread hijacking.

You are tragically insecure. I feel sorry for you, oddly.

Psychology and journalism -- two degrees that people got when they weren't that smart at my university. Oh, and political science, lest forget.

Hmmm.... am I upset? I don't feel upset... I did really dig Berry's post to the thread.

Pregnant almost 3 months out
Apple203 replied to Israh's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
"Get an abortion" is just such a useless post -- and you know it. -
Bummer, proudgrammy. I just got word that I need CPAP. Surgery isn't for a few more months, I am also really hoping its not a permanent thing. Oh well, at least I'll get a good night's sleep!

Pregnant almost 3 months out

My surgeon gave us a stern warning about this -- its not uncommon, evidently, because fat is free birth control hormonally, and when it goes, so does the free BC. Best wishes to you and baby -- you'll be fine! -
well, as they say, to each his own...

For the record, I'm careful with EVERYTHING I read on the internet! :-) What I liked about the video is that he reinforces what actually is VERY common science/research -- weight loss is achieved through diet, not exercise, and therefore you have to get your head and your diet straight as your top priorities during the early stages after bariatric surgery. And then when you do start exercising, most obese people are de-conditioned and are gonna need the help of trained professionals to guide you in the early stages. Those are the messages he promotes in this video, and they make perfect sense to me. Have you actually watched the video? I watched another of his videos this morning out of curiosity (and will watch more) and he had the highly UN-debunkable position that your success or failure largely lies with the choices you make.

I inherited a not-so-lovely condition where my body does not cover my peripheral nerves correctly, so I have significant neuropathy and very weak muscles at the end of long nerve runs (feet, lower limbs). My feeling is that unloading 75 pounds will be tremendously beneficial to my feet, even tho neuropathy will still be there (for me).

Berry, you are such a voice of reason on this board -- thanks for keeping us grounded in reality :-)
