Little Green getting little(r)
Apple203 replied to Little Green's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Glad to hear you got your new date, snafus and all. And LOL for the surgeon's comments about needing assistance after surgery -- that is too funny! -
I don't know about Matt, but I sure do! Matt, I'm the same week.

CPAP Nightmare?!?!
Apple203 replied to blind unicorn's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hope it better for you last night @KatFight! I've used my new machine now 6 nights in a row for just about 8 hours a night. Its not perfect: at least once every night the mask slips and it sounds like a tornado landed in my bedroom, which wakes us and the dog up. BUT, overall, I am feeling more rested already. Sleep apneas still hovering at 8-9 per hour -- hope surgery takes care of that! -
Talk to your doctor -- there are many options for depression. Don't suffer needlessly.

Good luck @angyplus5! You got this!

Insurance denied - Cigna

I think many of us get caught by the 90-days, thinking 3 visits meets the criteria when its really 4 visits, right? It stinks to get delayed. Hang in there! -
When food is no longer a coping mechanism.
Apple203 replied to Creekimp13's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Haha -- so not happening, @FluffyChix. I have impending retirement (or new job?) to throw into the mix, too -- big changes, welcome changes coming, but I am a little scared. -

Interesting discussion! I figured dropping cocktails on the weekends (and I still use the college definition of weekend: Thurs-Sun, haha) would leave an "activity" hole, but I didnt consider that food would, too. Interesting times!! -

@Little Green I am sorry for what you are going through. Please continue to SHOUT on the board, you have every right to be extremely frustrated!! -

I'm still trying to wrap my head around bananas and cream PP and decaf coffee -- I am at once horrified and intrigued. Going to try it tomorrow morning! -
How to Get a Gastric Sleeve with Low BMI - Where to Go, How to Convince Doctors I Need It
Apple203 replied to Salazar's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@Salazar Since you are in the region, Johns Hopkins offers a concierge ESG for lower BMI patients that you could consider. -
Hi there, my surgeon required upper GI for all of his patients, too. Sorry that this is going to delay you.

Is 165 a reasonable goal with your height and muscle mass? I know how maddening the struggle is to lose weight, but you are very close to an ideal weight now. My husband (also 6'1") has a very lean frame and 190 sits well on him. -

What?? Your surgeon is asking for 20 pounds in a month??? Holy moly! What's your plan look like? -

Apple203 replied to AskingForAFriend's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My dietitian today said iron and zinc are mainly what you need to avoid hair loss. Unfortunately, I ordered my vitamins without iron. -

Isn't it great to have a date, even if its 4 or 5 weeks away?! I'm excited and nervous, too. What's your pre-op diet look like? -

I have the Dreamwear one, small works best for me: https://www.easybreathe.com/-p4440.html?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIr9a_5bSS2QIVS1qGCh1p9wkPEAYYBCABEgIHcfD_BwE Nothing actually goes in your nose. -

Sorry to hear this, and I suspect I would feel the same way with a full mask. Have you considered nasal pillow mask, which lets you gasp away with your mouth (I've done it!) if you don't have enough air? -

Apple203 replied to FluffyChix's topic in The Lounge
Mom's family -- tons of us have it! I'm sorry to read about your neuropathy, too -- cancer is such a b***h. I'm sure we'll both be better off with less weight to bear on our suffering feet. Soon..... right? -

I really should look into braces, maybe after I lose some weight. :-) I have something called CMT (Charcot Marie Tooth) -- its pretty mild as far as it goes, but it is slowly progressive and I cant lift my toes off the floor anymore, so I trip over my toes! -
I read about the new labels -- how cool is that?!?!

Nope, but she's taught me what exercises to do, and how to do them, so when the swelling is down a little more (maybe a day or two more?) I'll just start where we left off. I have droopy feet, so I fall a lot, LOL.
