So I had a small almost-panic-attack just now thinking that I was going to be rejected right on the OR table, LOL. Has anyone else experienced this kind of thing?

Anesthesia is very very safe these days. I know its quite nerve-wracking to wonder if you will be someone who breezes through it or has a few bad days at first -- I worry a LOT about that and I am over a week away! Either way, in a week you will have your feet on the ground and your new life begins!! Wishing you a safe surgery One thing for folks to think about: you can take an anti-anxiety (like Lorazepam) the morning of surgery with your surgeon's permission -- its not contradicted for surgery.

sfh PURE is what I use: 24g protein, 130 cals, 4g carbs. 1 g sugar. It has only 4 ingredients: grass fed whey, natural vanilla flavor, sunflower lecithin, stevia leaf extract. Less than $2 per shake ($8/day). Tastes great!! I just had a vanilla shake with an orange and ice cubes blended in and it was delicious!

CPAP Nightmare?!?!
Apple203 replied to blind unicorn's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Time will tell :-) You will need to bring it to the hospital, that much I do know. Like @gr8ful1 said, it does get easier over time. At first, I woke up constantly, but now its only once or twice a night. I also have my fingers crossed that this will be temporary. -
Yes, she is going to be very unhappy as you lose weight! Congrats on the cute new place!

Can you get your hands on some inexpensive extra pillows to imitate an elevating bed? Sorry you are so uncomfortable...

@Sprinkles1 What do you think her deal is? Is she overweight herself, maybe jealous?

Man, 3 is rough!! I'm on Day 7 of my pre-op and its getting easier. I've lost 7 pounds already (from 228 to 221)!

For All You Peeps in Selfieville!!! Burning Question I MUST Know!!!
Apple203 replied to FluffyChix's topic in The Lounge
Do folks know you can set your phone with a 10 second delay? With the selfie mode on, you can center yourself, etc. No need to take all of your photos in bathrooms!!! -

Glad things are looking up for you :-)

I agree, and my favorite shake is chocolate with a tablespoon of PB2, half a banana, a teaspoon of decaf coffee granules and some ice cubes.

You are pretty brave to reach out to your doctor and to post your experience here! I worry about slipping back to daily drinking myself, and after reading your experience, maybe the best approach (for me) is to just not start again.

Same here!

New Premier Protein flavor!!!!
Apple203 replied to Maggie1955's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I tried 'em both and was not too happy with either -- too sweet for me. I'll bring the rest of the boxes to my office and someone will take them off my hands! The thing with Premium Protein that turns me off is the ingredients list. My sfh Pure protein powder has 4 ingredients: grass fed whey concentrate, natural vanilla flavor, sunflower lecithin, and stevia leaf extract. To which I add frozen fruit, PB2, decaf coffee, spinach, etc. -
I love that your doctor is negotiating with you about your exercise -- bet s/he doesn't do that often!

My pre-op with the surgeon was to go over all of the tests I had. This is different than the pre-anasthesia checkup, which I had this morning. It was a review of my medical history and medications, a basic physical exam, some blood work, and instructions about surgery day (where to go, what to wear, what to bring). If you havent had an EKG in the past 6 months, you may need one. I went directly though the hospital, but your PCP can also do it. Good luck!
