  3. Here's a link to information about what to expect based on your BMI at surgery: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3744630/table/T2/
  4. Here's link to a site that calculates what to expect statistically at 6, 12, 18 and 24 months: https://www.obesitycoverage.com/the-complete-patients-guide-to-bariatric-surgery/ You have to scroll down a little to get to that part.

    Any March 2018 Sleevers?

Surgery is on Wednesday. I am so inexplicably nervous that someone is going to pull the rug out from under me and I won't get the surgery -- am I the only one??? I started this process in August, 7 months ago, and the buildup has been intense. Also with every pound I lose pre-op, DH asks me if I'm sure I want the surgery and its driving me nuts! He means well, he really does, but he's a normal weight and he doesn't get it. Its not strictly about losing the weight, its about finding a strategy to keep it off for the rest of my life.
  6. On my second episode. I am definitely more Grace thank Frankie, right down to the martinis with 2 olives I DO like Frankie's style, tho!
  7. ...off to watch Grace and Frankie! Will I be a Grace or a Frankie??

    Sorbet

    Those look good!
  15. I'm March 14th. Anyone else have a March date yet? @FluffyChix? Yea, I know its a little early, but I'm pretty excited! Lugged my fat **s through the mall today thinking about how much better it would be 75-100 pounds lighter -- and what it might be like to actually shop for myself in "normal size" stores.

    Pre Op Diet

    1200 kcals/day, 20% carb (60g), 40% protein (120g), 40% fat (57g) -- this is essentially my pre-op plan, and I've lost 10 pounds in 10 days.
  17. Thanks! I ordered the Isotonix aloe and probiotics Sr. G recommends -- will try this formula if I have problems. Have you sought out protein that is not whey-based yet? Maybe it is just transient lactose intolerance?
  18. Ha -- I binge-watched the season of Big Ward on Netflix this week -- I loved it, too!! I have never really liked My 600 Pound Life -- I just can't relate to their situations. First I ever heard of Fobi. Is there a risk of erosion like with band?
  19. How are you doing -- any better today? What is the name of the soft chews?

To tell or not to tell

So are they being very blunt: did you have bariatric surgery? Or is it more like: you look great - what are you doing? I know I've asked close associates the latter when they start losing big, prefaced with "if you wouldn't mind me asking...". Mainly because I just want to know what works for people!! I think if someone overweight took me aside and asked, I'd tell them.

To tell or not to tell

Good tip! I have kept my circle tight, too.

    Any March 2018 Sleevers?

The first days of any diet are the roughest and then it will get easier (but I'm sure you already know that, LOL).

    Any March 2018 Sleevers?

The PA that works with my surgeon told me GasX works for gas in the bowels, which isn't the area of concern. Which begs the question: how does air exit the abdomen -- isn't it through the digestive tract?
  25. @Arabian78 Whole Foods has a bunch of protein alternatives to whey that you may want to try. Keep plugging away :-)
