Interesting! I tried 5 oz water per hour and its too much for me -- 4 oz per hour seems to work just right. And I mean to say, I basically slug an ounce every 15 minutes.

Just set up first appointments/Anxiety
Apple203 replied to dani0913's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I would suggest that the first thing you should do is get a handle on why you are anemic. I became anemic a couple of years ago, and my PCP took it very very seriously. My issue was gynecological, and after a hysterectomy and 6 months of Vitron C, I got it under control. I have anxiety, too, you can still take ADs after surgery. Good luck to you -- its a long process but I think its worth it! -

Hi all, I finally made it to the losers bench! Surgery went well, despite some problems with the hiatal hernia repair. Haven't talked to surgeon directly about that yet. Pain is low. Woke up with shoulder pain from gas, that was expected thanks to everyone accounts. First walk is within the hour. I have been surprised a few times when I wake up and I am sleeved, lo l, so happy it's done!! Sent from my SM-G935V using BariatricPal mobile app

Ha -- my stomach is noisy, too! I guess keep walking and sipping and things will settle down! :-)

I have a "kitchen timer" ap that I am using to send an alert every 10 minutes for an ounce of water. So I should be able to get 60 ounces of water in 12 hours, which allows me to take naps, etc. I am using a 16 ounce water bottle which I pour into a one ounce cup that a nurse gave to me. Every bottle, I log into myfitnesspal. I can sort of slug the one ounce of water already.

Getting Sleeved Monday 03/19/18
Apple203 replied to BuzzVSG's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Catheter -- yes, for about 24 hours. Pain upon waking -- no. I just kept floating in and out. I'm told it took me 2 hours to wake up. I remember being happy that surgery actually happened. I'm 2 days out, no hunger yet. Thirst was an issue the first day. -
Sorry you had such a rocky start. Could the sleep pains be entrapped gas? I imagine you didn't many chances to walk with the fever.

I had the BEST night's sleep last night, and on my side, no less -- heaven!!! Today I'm all about the fluids and walking for gas, which I can still feel around my shoulders and my arms (?). To hopefully stave off constipation, I am taking 2 oz aloe vera juice and probiotics at the recommendation of my surgeon. Have a great day, people of bariatricpal.com!

Have a safe surgery -- it'll be over in a blink. I kept dozing in and out and I was so happy when I realized I had the surgery already, LOL. -
I’m sorry you are having a rough go of things. Things should look up soon.

I just had hiatal hernia Mon repair that was larger than expected. Not experiencing significant pain. Sent from my SM-G935V using BariatricPal mobile app -
MyFitnessPal is excellent.

Oh, I definitely agree with CPAP adding gas to the system!

Same day! How are you feeling? How much are you drinking? I am shooting for 1 ounce every 15 minutes today, plus lots of walking.
-
Haha — just stay away from innocent people, OK?

Ahhh, finally sipping some water, and it is sooooo nice! Looks like its true; Dr. G keeps his patients 2 nights. Including me. I am looking forward to getting out off the hospital gown and into some comfy pants and a T-shirt. The sip sip sip walk walk walk :-). I did take advantage of the morphine overnight, and I feel pretty gassy this morning.
