meh, I had a cheese curl yesterday. Life happens
-
I ate an Old Bay cheese curl yesterday. On purpose. I made a freaking meal out of it, LOL.

From reading this board, I've learned that nearly everyone has doubts/misgivings about the surgery immediately before and after, which isn't surprising. The 2 weeks before and month after are pretty rough! Its big decision for sure, and one that only you can make. And if you chose to cancel, you can always change your mind later.
-
Is it the surgery that is giving you second thoughts, or the lifestyle?
-
I am sick to death of milky protein drinks, too, blech! I'm a longtime green smoothie gal, so hopefully one day I'll get there again. My next stage is: flakey fish, tuna salad, chicken salad, egg salad, eggs, cottage cheese, ricotta cheese, greek yogurt, refried beans, smashed bananas, applesauce, mashed potatoes/sweet potatoes/cauliflower. Its a veritable cornucopia of food, 2 ounces at a time! I can't wait.

Haha I think it was on purpose
-
@Mattymatt I would heart you but I can't

I know, right? I mean, I love them both, but this isn't what is best for me right now.

I wanna vent, too!!! My SIL, who I truly love, came and spent LAST weekend with us and she's coming again THIS weekend (and bringing a friend!). And my brother had a procedure that required anesthesia and spent 2 days with us. I'm, like, 10 days out of surgery, and what I really want is to relax/rest/recuperate before I have to go back to work. What are they thinking?? Neither one did an damn thing to help out. Ahem. Vent is over. Cough. Must calm down...LOL

New incision pain, 10 days post-op
Apple203 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Has anybody started having incision pain 10 days post-op? Incisions look great, not red or warm/hot. Its mainly my big incision, and it doesn't hurt at all if I sit quietly. Could this be nerves healing? What do you think?? -

That's rough!! I had a week of clear after surgery and that was bad enough! -
New incision pain, 10 days post-op

Thanks for reassuring words. I think its part of healing, but I called dr's office just to be sure. Still waiting for call back. I'll post what they say in case someone else is experiencing something similar. Fortunately, sitting still means no pain :-) -

I'm behind y'all at only 20# lost, but ALL of it seems like it came from my arms, neck and shoulders. I carry maybe 90% of my weight in my abdomen, and its going to be 100% soon, LOL. -
New incision pain, 10 days post-op
Apple203 replied to Apple203's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Its the whole near region, but most intense at the big incision. It feels like nerve pain to me? But I'm a bit surprised by this development. Oh, and I never actually bruised! -
How to get enough fluid during the day
Apple203 replied to TheSirBeardsley's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
From Week #5 to Week #12, my plan requires four meals a day, spaced at four hours. A meal is 2.5 ounces of lean protein and 1/4-1/2 cups of fruit, yogurt, or soft vegetables. -
Here’s my Friday face!

I got some bad news for you -- protein shakes suck after surgery, too! Hope you don't have to go too long with 'em, and good luck with your surgery! -

You are a hoot! Soooooo happy that you've broken the cursed stall!! How long did it last? -
OK, so inquiring minds want to know: when did your stall start and how long did it last?
-
LOL, yes, it is unusual. This is where I just trust my surgeon, PLUS he tests regularly.
-
With Isotonix, you can take them all at once, and together. That is the beauty of it.
-
I officially weigh less than my tall (6'2") husband.
-
My surgeon recommends Bariatric Advantage, Celebrate or NutraMetrix Isotonix. I chose the NutraMetrix line, which I drink first thing in the morning. The drink consists of 8 ounces of water, one capful of a multivitamin and 3 capfuls of calcium. I also take a generic B1 vitamin 3 days a week. https://www.isotonix.com/product/isotonix-calcium-plus/?skuName=Isotonix® Calcium Plus - Single Bottle (90 Servings)&id=13020&idType=sku https://www.isotonix.com/product/isotonix-multivitamin-with-iron/?id=2243&idType=product I did ask about Tespo, but it wasn't approved simple because they didn't have enough personal evidence to support a recommendation. It is worth noting that my surgeon is extremely conservative (e.g., clear liquids for a week after surgery, etc).
-
I take powdered vitamins and calcium -- Isontonix (recommended by surgeon) -- and the advantage is that I can take everything all at once, which I do first thing in the AM. When I am done, I wait 30 minutes and have my first protein drink (which is half of a protein drink, actually). I have these every 4 hours and hit 65+ grams of protein. In between each protein drink, I drink one 16 oz. bottle of water. Not trying to tell you what to do, just offering one approach to juggling all of this. :-)
