any November 2017 sleevers?
Geri Marie replied to Sugar42's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Omg guys!! My surgery is just two weeks away!!! I can begin to tell you how excited I am to be doing this! I am not going to lie....I'm pretty nervous but I know deep down this is the best thing for me. November 15th can not come soon enough. I guess I better get shopping for my first few weeks and start thinking about what to bring with me to the hospital. Good luck to all!! -
Don't feel bad, and definitely go through with it. My husband isn't very supportive either but I told him the only thing I need to know is.... is he going to pick me up from the hospital? Goid luck Sent from my SM-G935P using BariatricPal mobile app

I have Aetna, amd they require three months supervised diet, with no weight gain. I use this stuff called Teami tea, a colon cleanse that helps with a pound or two. I went through Irma this past month and had gained weight. So four days prior to weight in I went on a full liquid diet and drank the Teami tea (double dose) and lost 1.2 lbs from my previous months weigh in. I suggest you do this and get weighed again. Now I'm one month away and trying so hard not to binge this last weigh in is so important. Good luck to you. Keep us abreast of what's happening! Sent from my SM-G935P using BariatricPal mobile app

don't go back!! I quit back in 2002 and it was the best decision I made in my life. I'm sure it's a huge risk because your stomach is so small now to start smoking and getting all sirs who knows what smoking added to your new healthy lifestyle would do. But you know you should go back to your doctor and talk to him about getting back on Chantix. Good luck! you can do it Sent from my SM-G935P using BariatricPal mobile app

So as WLS patients this time of year can be so so so hard on the ones that LOVE everything pumpkin. But it doesn't have to be! This morning I dug out a can of pumpkin (not pumpkin pie filling) and added three tablespoons to my protein shake. I also added pumpkin pie seasoning and two stevias. All with two scoops of baritatric advantage vanilla and a cup of almondmilk with 5 ice cubes. Heaven!! I will use the can for making my own Greek yogurt pumpkin as well, same premise! Happy Pumpkin Season everyone!!

Having second thoughts
Geri Marie replied to Aginn10's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well, I am in no way shape or form a dr. But I know from personal experience that yes, once you start following the program you loose weight and think, heck I'm doing it, why bother.....Myself I'm 46, and did it once. Ive lost 100 lbs on my own twice. But the thing that most people that aren't you dont realize is that keeping it off is 60% the battle. Most of my friends and family think its a mistake as well. But they are not me......I KNOW myself. It's all well and good when your loosing it, but somewhere down the line, a couple cheat days, a couple parties, a Christmas or two and BAM I'm right back to 250 in no time flat. Just my opinion -
Anyone here in Florida??
Geri Marie replied to trulykendra's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Dr Bass is doing my surgery. I have a date of November 13th! I had him do a lap band back in 2010 and he was GREAT. His wife and office staff are awesome. I have two more classes and a physc evaluation still. Sadly the band did not work for me so its time to get sleeved. -
Dang.....I just realized I misspelled Pumpkin lol. My fingers dont type as fast as my brain i guess!

It's great in the chocolate protein. I think it tastes like a mocha shake. I got a Chai tea syrup from daVinci and it tastes like a root beer float. I love it. I ordered more today along with a Eggnog one. It's on a site called websturantstore.com. Shipping is pricey but its worth it.

This is my mixing station! I'm obsessed! Lol
-
So Jealous!!!! I had my band removed on the 16th of August and waiting for November 13th to get here!! So excited for you!
-
I use plain Greek yogurt, add the pumpkin, spices, and stevia. The nice part about doing this is it doesn't add very many carbs. There is 3 grams to three scoops.

I know its way late....But Nordic Track makes an awesome one for a great price

New Here and Struggling
Geri Marie replied to abj85's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi abj85 Glad your here. I'm going to give you some advise on how to lose some weight before your next appt. First- Don't beat yourself up! It didn't take a month or a week to get to where your at, and its going to take some time to change your habits. BUT you CAN DO IT!! So here's some tips my team has taught me... First- Eat 3-4 times a day. Breakfast- eat no later than 30 minutes after you wake. I make my own protein shakes with stevia and almond milk. I use Bariatric Advantage. Chocolate, vanilla and banana are my favorites. For lunch I choose this as my main meal. Try to stay under 50 grams of carbs (For the whole day) I eat cottage cheese, eggs, salmon, cod, chicken. Mediterranean type meals are good. Feta cheese, nuts, etc. For dinner I have another shake. I have a snack like Yogurt, apples with Peanut butter, grapes Don't starve yourself, otherwise your body goes into starvation mode and you wont lose. With the shakes I go to this website www.webstaurantstore.com believe its called. I order sugar free coffee syrups for a good price and make it fun!! I have eggnog shakes, Chai tea flavored shakes, and my latest is butter rum shake! But you can also do unsweetened coconut milk with chocolate and have a mounds shake. I always at two packets of all natural stevia sweetener because I like mine sweet. Become a mixologist! Any help I can give you, dont hesitate to message me. Good luck you can do it! -
Fi72 I am so proud of you! I too accept the failure of the band being my fault and I'm going to go with the sleeve I have very minor acid reflux right now so I think I'll be okay but I'm super excited to take this journey with all of you. So many people blame the band and act like it's not worthy, I just think the band works for some just not all of us :-( Sent from my SM-G935P using BariatricPal mobile app
