Calling all October sleevers!!
arcwls replied to Detroit_25's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was advised x1 coffee, no sugar or milk pre op. May be different for other countries (this advice was given to me in Australia). Hope they helps? Personally, I would probably just ring and ask them to email the guidelines anyway as a back up! -

Thank you so much! I really appreciate your reply. I had my Dietician apt and she cleared up a number of my concerns and I feel a lot better. Good vibes received from Australia! [emoji1308] x -
Calling all October sleevers!!
arcwls replied to Detroit_25's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi All, I'm getting pretty nervous... my surgery is in less than two weeks and I have no one to talk about it really. My partner is the only one that knows and he's so supportive but probably not as interested in the finer details and concerns and querying I have on a daily basis, as the date approaches. So I do feel a little isolated having my concerns go unanswered. I recently had surgery (a week ago) to have all four of my wisdom teeth removed and I had a horrible time with pain relief. Nothing worked and I had to just ride it out. They had me on Tremadol, telling me to up my dosage and it did nothing except constipate me beyond belief. This worries me a lot coming up to what I know is going to a painful recovery and the possibility of being constipated as a reaction to pain medications as well as in pain is just a little too much to handle all on my own. Anyone have anything they can share with me, to try and alleviate some of my concerns? -

October 31st. Nervous, scared and excited all rolled into one! -
Exactly! That's really good to hear. I think it's a good way to get your head around the lifestyle change as well! [emoji846]

Great to see a recent reply from Perth on this thread! I'm new too and from Perth and am booked in for the end of October. I'm excited to get this all underway! I had to push my surgery date back, they wanted to schedule me in for early September but that was too quick to get the leave at work booked in, in time. So things move nicely and I'm sure you'll find the same! I'm already making changes in my lifestyle pre-op like going hiking over the weekend and eating smaller meals (even avoiding dessert at my family's birthday dinner!) [emoji5][emoji5][emoji5]

Not telling Mom/some others....opinions

I am with you. I have told my partner because they will have to pick me up and see me while I recover. I'd rather no one knew; not because I am ashamed, it's just no one else's business [emoji846] -
I was worried about this too. Has anyone done the diet for longer than one month? I have two months until mine, and was thinking I should give the pre-op diet a go earlier to get use to it, or maybe even lose more? Anyone tried this approach? Perth: 31/10/2017 HW: 98/99kg GW: 60-65kg H: 171cm

Hi I'm here! From Perth, booked for late October and I've just signed up to get support too! [emoji5]

I can relate too! I am in my mid twenties and since finishing high school I've struggled with my weight. Only time I had a decent loss was after a traumatic event in my life and I lost about 10kg in a couple weeks. Of course this went back on and more once I got back on my feet. I was also concerned with the lack of data available after the 5 years (and how it was casually mentioned that people have died from it too, think my doctor said 8 in the years they've been doing it in WA). The pre-op diet concerns me too seeing as I am lactose intolerant so I can't do whey or milk and I snack all the time in secret when I'm bored or nervous. HW: 98/99kg GW: 60-65kgs H: 171cm

I had my consult and surgery was available for me 6 weeks later. I pushed mine out to ensure I had the leave at work. Dr Dolan has a lot of great reviews online [emoji4]
