    Sliming with VSG?

No regrets what so ever. I lost 50% during pre-op of what I lost in total with the band. My band just never worked for me and I also did the yo-yo again and again until I decided it was time for me to take back my life. As your lap band is already removed, any scar tissue should have been remedied. It took my surgeon a little extra time to remove my scar tissue from the band which was extensive. I wish you all the best and am positive, you will be successful with whatever decision you make!

    Sliming with VSG?

I just had my band revised and sleeve surgery completed 8/8, I certainly hope that doesn't happen. So far, so good.

    Pre Op Diet

I did a 2 week pre-op liquid diet (lost 19.5 lbs) and am now on a 2.5 week post-op liquid diet (my surgery was 8/8/17). My post-op follow-up appointment is what's driving the 2.5 week liquid diet (I am on the short list if anyone cancels their appt, otherwise, I'll be drinking my meals. Its all good though, in the long run it will all pay off. The hardest part for me was after the 1st week I was tired of the protein shakes. I did find a life saver in the form of a 10g protein shot which mixes well with the strawberry crush packs you can get at the Dollar Tree (that is also where I got the protein shots). I also got orange and pineapple. It made for a less sweet drink which I mixed in 20g protein portions. I sipped on these all day. The name of the protein is Protein Boost and it has 0 sugar and even tastes good as a straight shot although I prefer mixing them. Hope this bit of info helps gets you through these tough times.
  4. Tomorrow is the big day! :624_alarm_clock: I'm down 19lbs:) pre-surgery and am very excited (and only a little afraid:o) for the procedure)! I'll post how I feel in a couple of days.

Thanks so much! I had my surgery on 8/8 and am now back at home since yesterday. I got out of bed as quickly to start of the healing process. One thing I'm glad I did was taking my own protein to the hospital (what they had was not at all tasty). :o

On to the next milestone (getting through the post-op liquid diet).

    Ready to Run-Just my thoughts

Hi Chloe, I too am a transplant (NC to TX). My best friend lives here so that has made this a little easier for me. But by the way you speak, your beauty is from your heart, not based on looks. I'd bet you're going to be the same kind, sweet person you've always been, just in a smaller body. Best of Luck.

    6 months in the hospital

I hope your brother gets we'll soon. I'll keep him in my prayers.
  7. I too was reluctant to tell family and I too have all sorts of issues in my family tree (high bp and diabetes). Everyone has high bp and one sister is diabetic. I eventually told my family and was amazed at how supportive they are. No judgement, just a desire to see me healthy. We now can talk openly about my upcoming surgery which for me, was a burden to carry alone. Whatever you decide, I wish you the best!
