Also hidden sugar. So just watch and see how it goes down. Do you continue to lose weight? Do you stall? Do you retain water? Do you dump from it?

Well...I'd say good initiative. But here's the dealio. The most calorie dense and craptastically chemical laden portion of chinese takeout is... dunh, dunh, dunhhhhh.... wait for it. The Sauce. So by ordering the extra sauce you essentially "super sized" your food. An alternative would have been to have it with sauce on the side. Puree the solids with a broth that has a little soy, a little sesame oil, ginger and garlic (all pretty low cal/healthy if you limit the soy and the sesame oil. Then you could add a tablespoon or less of the calorie dense sauce to your puree servings at the time you eat. In the early days I would buy the ready made sauces that had the fewest calories, carbs, sugar, fat, chemicals and keep them on hand. Then I'd take regular food and just put a teaspoon of the sauce on it--or a tablespoon. You want your calories as low as possible and the nutrients as HIGH as possible. I call it the calorie bang for the buck.

Diarrhea and work
FluffyChix replied to Sharon B A's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Do you know what is causing this? Is this normal for DS peeps? I never researched it to find out. But it sounds horrifying. I know what mine was like healing from the gut surgery and it was bad enough at 10-12 times per day. So can't even imagine how bad it would be at 2x per hour!!! -
Yeah hon. Competition and jealousy do strange things to peeps. She's also looking at your through her obese filter of you. So any loss looks "small" to her on you. Go for where you WANT to be in your heart of hearts. I think 125 is a great place for you.

So we as patients have an internal filter that is rather "needy" -- or at least many of us do. We perceive this surgery as "a really big dealio" and that we are all "special little snowflakes" to be given attention to ad libitum. Cuz you know, we're pretty internally focused and driven on "winning WLS." And it's our #1 priority, almost to the exclusion of everyone else's needs. The surgeon's (and sometimes their team) do this thing EVERY dang day. With hundreds of patients at various levels of care along a 5 year continuum. (Or at least those who are building or contained within a Centers of Excellence Program.) And their perspective is that "we do our job" but dangit, you the patient have a responsibility in the 5 year process. And your job is to know your pre-op instructions, follow the rules, work the journey, and behave normally without neediness. Cuz you know, needy patients cost the practice moolah. So they want self-starters. They want people to get in, get out, and get on with their life. And they do NOT see this surgery as a big dealio. In fact, they see it as kind of a "tonsilectomy" or "gall bladder surgery". Something that can literally be done as an outpatient. I remember talking to my surgeon (whom I see every time I have a follow-up) about the level of care I was gonna need post RNY. And she cocked her head at an angle, and looked at me like I was an idiot, and started laughing! She said, "Post care? Why would you need that? LOL. I think YOU think this surgery is gonna be a big deal--it isn't. Like, get over your bad self. You're not a snowflake, buttercup." LOL. That's the difference. And what you are experiencing is entirely normal. If one meal or one day you have pain, then you drop back a stage and go back on liquids for a day or two...it only becomes an issue if you no longer can keep ANYTHING down--water or protein drinks. In that case, then it's a call to the doc. Any other event other than sudden onset of intense pain is not a doctor phonecall or hand holding event.

FluffyChix replied to Tejee's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Another 600-800 cals/day at 6 months. I also avoided anything resembling candy at that time. So no protein bars. Very simple: B: protein latte OR egg puff OR Greek yogurt with 1oz froz blueberries + 1/2oz walnuts L: turkey roll up + 1-2oz raw veg OR tuna pouch + 1 cup salad with WF cal free dressing OR green soup (broth+2oz shrimp or chicken + 1oz frozen greens + 1/2-1oz mushrooms π§ 2-3oz dense lean protein + 1oz steamed/sauteed/roasted fresh veggie + 1oz avocado & .5-1oz grape tomato -

2 weeks after sleeve need advice
FluffyChix replied to Jdymitc's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Try cutting the protein with things like: Fat Free Fairlife Milk (13g protein per cup) Fat Free Greek Yogurt (6g protein per 2oz of HEB FF Plain Greek Yogurt) Fat Free Kefir Plain (3g protein per 2oz of Lifeway Low Fat Plain Kefir) Make Protein Cream Soup (This makes 4, 4oz servings of soup with almost 11g of protein per 4oz serving.) Add protein powder to everything! -
Yes. It's normal to have these periods. But it also depends on your diet leading up to surgery. If you were still drinking/eating crap foods and caloric drinks and were high carb, pre-surgery, then your recovery is extra hard, cuz not only is your body trying to heal, but it's also trying to convert from being a sugar burning machine (carb monkey), to burning fat/ketone bodies (fat burner) due to caloric restriction and carb restriction. And that makes you feel very tired. You can try adding a cup of normal sodium bouillon to your day and see how you feel afterward? But follow your doc's plan and if it's really bad, then call your doc. But I think it's just all part of the healing...

Damn!!! ((hugs)) Well most importantly, drop us a pre-poop weight and a post-poop weight. Bahahahaha! And if you missed it this time, remember...before losing it, always. ALWAYS. Step on the scale first for your b/a reading. Hahahahahahaha. Yes, swearsies. I actually do this. I will just say, sometimes...I impress myself. Ha! Do you feel better today? -

Ok, I'm in! Hello August!!! August Stats: 17m PO RNY, 56y F, 5'4", 135lbs, 23BMI (3w PO for emergency internal hernia with twisted gut) Personal Goal: Want to hit 130lbs by August 20th (18m f/up with my surgeon & oncologist & cardioman) Fun Fact: I used to be a very very very fluffy (325lb) low carb keto food blogger and wrote several digital e-cookbooks. My old blog was Fluffy Chix Cook. I also am a freelance graphic artist and work from home, so most days I work in flannel pjs or stretchy soft shorts and tshirts. LOL. And very fuzzy house slippers. Oh, and in my usual 2percenter way, I overslept 30minutes this morning and missed my running cuz I had a rush job due this morning. Now I have to fit it in today...ahhhh Mondays.

So 5"4" π΅ 17m PO (WLM) 135.0lbs Ok, so scale is moving back down in the right direction. Had a business meeting last night at a restaurant, but was very good. Chose to have a small Greek salad with shrimp. And had iced tea rather than drinks. Woot! Eating was also back to a normal-ish non-fasting level. 6am B1-Black Coffee 10am B2-1c Egg Salad with Cottage Cheese + 50g Radish Chips 2:30pm L-4 Deviled Egg halves + Iced Cocomojoe Coffee (3oz PP + decaff) 6:00pm Small Greek Salad (dressing on side) + 2oz grilled shrimp (ate 1/3 of salad + 1 1/2 oz of shrimp) 8:30pm Quest Cheddar Sour Cream Chips (yeah...sigh...I went there--the whole bag) -

Awww! So sad to hear of your unfortunate fire down below!!! I'm thinking it sounds like a fat event--too much in your dinner meal. It hits me within 10-20 minutes as well and it's immediately demanding. Did you feel better immediately after the trip to the trone room? π§ -
