  5. Today is an UP day--no fasting. Super stressful here. Going to a Neil Diamond Cover Band concert tonight with friends and think I will split a chicken salad with Mr. F and indulge in a glass of wine. So cals will be up and up! LOL.
  6. Yay!!! Congrats!!! Some of it is water, and you will lose quickly at first, but some is also fat. So glad you feel good and are fully hydrated! IF is really kinda magical! So when you say alternating? What are you doing differently on alternating days?

I also love any veggie in spirals: broccoli cauliflower kohlrabi turnip daikon rutabaga all the squashes beets carrots english cucumber I feel like Bubba Gump! On love shirataki noodles and shirataki rice (especially the rice when mixed with caulirice).

  10. Yeah. I already do that--water part. It's only been a problem really since post surgery this time. Was just wondering if you had any top secret trick. LOL. Sorry about your reflux if you eat too late. But dang! That will keep you honest!!
  11. Love both of those books!!! So easy to read and pretty profound!!
  12. Here's one on this topic. I know there is a huge thread about 50+ WLS peeps here. You just have to search for it. Welcome!

LOL, unless you're on the pre-op liquid diet, or post op lower stages or are on full liquids... See, there's always free cheese in a trap.

How far out are you? Please fill out your profile so we can see your surgery, what stage you're in, etc Depending on your answers, there's many options. Welcome.
  16. It depends what shape your esophagus and tum are in as a result of the band. I'm a new RNY (no conversion) and it's very rare for me to have that stuck feeling but when I do, I know it's cuz my esophagitis is acting up again. ((hugs))

    Meh to the scale now?

OMG! Totally stole this and will now post it All. The. Places (including other threads here!) TY!!! Love it!
  18. Go back to liquids only (maybe even clear liquids and clear protein) until that feeling goes away. You probably irritated it with whatever you advanced your diet to and now have referred pain from lower down in your esophagus and tummy. But you feel it in your throat. Are you taking a PPI or acid reducer for GERD? If you can't eat or drink or keep anything down, then call your doc immediately. You can try taking liquid Tylenol (sugar free).

    Dumping question

((hugs)) It's a process and we have to work on things a step at a time as we have this honeymoon period. Here's a thread I started on the main board to address learning how to change our behaviors with food and addressing "the head work." It's full of motivational items and has great tips and articles that will help you begin reframing your brain! Come join us over there!

    Food Before and After Photos

YES! Am I yelling? Cuz it feels like I'm yelling!!!! LOL. I know EXACTLY how you feel!!! (I'm having salad tonight--super duper crunchy, crisp, and no heavy dressings--just my guilt free tangy zero cal dressing.) I feel SO excellent after having one of these salads. I can eat a lot more than you of the salad...I think cuz it scrunches down maybe and is so wet from moist veggies? But we go to this super cheap neighborhood place that cooks everything from scratch. I could literally have anything I want--pasta, pizza, bread...and instead I get 1 of 3 things and 2 of them are salads or involve salad and the other is just the "chicken or shrimp" salad add-on and a side of their al dente veggies with garlic and super light on the oil. So think "steamed al dente." I just am at the point where I prefer the clean food. Cuz every time I don't do that? I feel miserable after and usually have either nausea or RH, or swollen tummy and the dry heaves. Etc. Loves me some salad. But was always a salad girl.

    Keto vs. No Keto

Way to rock it! Congrats on the 7lbs loss!! I kinda feel like if fat isn't making you feel bad and you're losing weight and are satisfied by it, then is it too much for you? I don't think so. Especially if it's healthy fat.
  24. Gosh! I think you have to do what works and find your hacks around your schedule. I think the milk hack sounds very reasonable!! And it may actually help you sleep deeper and faster! I think until it stops working, work it baby! Sorry your schedule is so cray!!! Hope it gets better soon!
