  1. Sometimes when you play, you pay. Saturday's "Miss Adventures" landed me back 3 squares on the Candy Land game board. Oh well. It was totes worth it. But apparently my RDs advice of low residue, soft foods, full liquids/purees should be my friend for the next 2 weeks until I have my follow up with the surgeon. Today I'm firmly on board with her plan cuz I don't want another day like yesterday. 5'4" πŸ‘΅ 17m PO (WLM) 134.0lbs (pre-poopy) Sunday August 12 Menu: B1-6am--decaf + PP (1oz) B2-10:30am--soft scrambled egg + avocado (1 egg + 45g ew + 1tbsp sour cream + 3 evoo sprays + 52g avocado) L-3:00pm--28g bh peppermill turkey breast + protein latte (8z decaff + 2oz PP) D-7pm--herbox chicken bouillon-sodium free + 2.25oz cooked boiled shrimp BS-9pm--1bottle PP Clear Fruit Punch
  2. I'm not IFing today, but I am back on full liquids/puree/soft-mushies with low fiber for the next 2 weeks per my RD. I'll probably push starting food out as long as possible today though. Having bad intestinal issues and cramping again. Ugh.

    No longer "obese"!!!

    Woooohoooo! Congrats!
  4. My signature line contains my goals. My surgeon's and RD's goals were 160 and 156lbs respectively and are based on a very strict formula used by ASMBS which includes the predicted 65% loss of EBW for RNY surgery. Goal 1 was mine 150lbs (they were both on board with me cuz it wasn't that far off their goal) = high school weight. Goal 2 was mine 140lbs (they were skeptically on board but when I hit it wanted me to stop there) = "normal BMI" per chart below...I'm very average and BMI charts are predictive for me and 140lbs is barely within normal for my height. Goal 3 was mine 130lbs (they think I'm too thin and there is no advantage to being this weight) = smack in the middle of my "normal BMI" per the chart and where I "think" I will finally be happy with the size of my booty and thighs. I'm 4 lbs away today. Goal BDG is mine 125lbs (don't know if I'm going for this one yet or not...they think it's unrealistic at only 5lbs from "Ideal" per ASMBS. BDG=Barbie Dream Girl Goal=where I think I would be a smokin' 57y hottie. LOL.
  5. Stalls happen. Don't up cals or lower them. Just focus on meeting your protein goals and following your doc's rules!!
  6. Fuel that burn baby!!! What are you listening to? Post your YouTube workout tunes of the day!!!! Inspire us! I ran 45 minutes this morning (ok I ralked=run/walked at 3mph)--but still, I did it for 45 continuous minutes so I'll take it. And I love ralking to these tunes!!! I love the drum beats and tempo of all of these--really puts me in my zone. Def Leppard - Rocket Tom Petty - Last Dance With MaryJane + American Girl U2 - Pride Boston -- Rock and Roll Band

    Doubting my decision

((hugs)) Try to move past this and know that as everyone said, this is really a very safe surgery in general. But with all surgeries, complications do happen. I think they are only about 1-3%--about the same as laparoscopic gallbladder surgery. Don't let fear rule.
  8. Wow!! You look FABULOUS and so tiny! Congrats on a great report and for sharing! Can't wait for pics of progress and of your sis' wedding!!! Woot!

Dirty dark sleeve secrets :P Confessional

I'm not perfect. But rules exist for a reason. And sometimes you won't see the reason or experience it for years down the road. So don't be the guinea pig that either proves or disproves the rules. Follow them as closely to 100% as possible and all "should" be well in your world.
  10. Yes! Absolutely! My latest measurements pre-surgery: 12.5neck bust 38 waist 29 hips 38 135lbs I also have a photo progression by month but haven't updated it in a long time.
  11. Embrace this time. Don't eat! Get ALL of your fluids in and MORE!!! And do what you need to meet your 60g of protein requirement. That's non-negotiable. 2 Premier Proteins and you're done. Boom baby! Then go about your life as normal!
  12. Love this!!!! Thank you SO much for posting it!!!!

    OOTD

I cannot shout it loud enough or say it often enough, but everyone looks SOOOO freakin beautiful!!!!! I adore seeing your outfits and getting to know your personal styles! TY for sharing them with us all!!! Ok, yesterday's outfit. Hotter than hell and I got the nerve to wear my white shorts outfit again and this time, I snapped pics.
  14. You're doing great! I'd make my fat free milk the Fairlife milk to max protein on it, and as @MeepMeep suggested, you can even mix a little protein into your mashed potatoes (which I would replace with smashed cauliflower ). But don't worry about your veggies yet. Those will come with progress. Worry about maxing protein within your very narrow volume per meal eating window!! Remember, down protein drinks as fluid and that will give you latitude to do an all veggie snack or meal by helping you load up on protien!
  15. I think if it isn't too inconvenient for your to take the time to post this, that THIS type of information is completely vital and useful to vets, sophomores, and newbies alike! Cuz we can "see" what someone is eating at X point in their life post surgery. That is so vital to make sure we're on track! I am gonna continue posting my quantities cuz I do it anyway and record it in MFP, so maybe it will help someone see that you can "usually" eat in a controlled manner and still get TONS of healthy nutritious food. But not everyone does that normally (tracks) and that's OK too. We want EVERYBODY here, even if they don't weigh/measure and only say things like: b-protein coffee msnack - Oikos cherry yogurt l-tuna sandwich (1/2) snack - gs apple + peanut butter d-don't know yet Just my opinion!!!!
  16. Welcome to all our new participants! Yay!!!! We don't even care if you're pre-op. Your menu and insights and path are valuable to us all and help so many people!!! We all need inspiration--even if it's "What Not To Do at Almost 18months Post Op When Out For The Day With Friends" !! (As yesterday's menu will serve as a visual aid. LOL. I'm so lucky to have the scale stuck at 135lbs and not have it go up after a day like this. But hopefully, you will see from this day that I do have days where I either eat, or eat craptastically and go over on my cals for losing in a huge way--including all manner of contraband foods that do not encourage health--but offer HUGE hedonistic food reward! This morning although I'm not hungry yet, I have a big desire for more hedonistic shenanigans. I don't (am not ready) to eat my first meal of the day, but I don't feel like staying in and working or having a "work day" round the house. I want to be out with people and friends--and at the end of it--I want to have some kind of hedonistic meal. After a day like yesterday which is more than 1 day of Feasting during the week--I want MORE and MORE and MORE off plan days. That's the trouble with cheat days and my personality type. I do better with structure and rules and continuity and low reward, clean foods. My thoughts settle down, and normalize and I don't have these huge swings of cravings and head hunger. Cuz even though yesterday was fun, I did not feel "awesome" after eating! In fact, I felt heavy, bloated, crampy colon (BAD) and nauseated. I had my support meeting yesterday and my RD (who has known me since before surgery) told me that I needed to step back a stage and should not be adding fiber. I need to go back to soft diet/full liquid diet for the next 2 weeks until I see my surgeon for my check-up. I will see my doc for my 18 month follow-up + the f/up for the twisted gut/hernia surgery. And RD and I both think that my gut is not back to normal yet and may still be having issues. So00000oooooo, ugh, back on a soft diet starting today. She said that until my gut is moving with normal motility it's asking for problems to dump a bunch of fiber into it and not helpful to make it "scrunch" and "churn" and "work" as hard as it has to with a normal diet. Can I just say yesterday I was in complete denial and had HUGE cognitive dissonance! Oh well--today I WILL reign my wayward 2 year old in and put the brakes on her giving her structure and education!!! Will report how I succeed tomorrow! 5'4" πŸ‘΅ 17m PO (WLM) 135.0lbs (post-poopy) Saturday August 10 Menu: B1 - 6am - Protein latte (8oz decaff + 4oz PP Chocolate + grd cinnamon) (58cals + 1g nc) L1- 1:30pm - Texas BBQ -- no sauce (estimated: 1.5oz lean brisket + 1.5oz lean pork rib + 1.5oz p/b smoked sausage + 3bites green beans + 3bites potato salad (no sugar) + 1 onion raw (single ring) + 3 dill pickle slices + 1/4 pickled jalapeno) (340cals + 11g nc) L2- 2:30pm - decaff + 2oz sugar free International House Vanilla Coffee Creamer (80cals + 4 nc) AS-5:00pm - estimated -- 2oz rustic Italian pagnotta bread + 1tbsp evoo + 1 glass cabernet (360cals + 28g carbs) D - 7:00pm - estimated - 2.25oz boiled shrimped shelled deveined (107cals + 2g nc) Dessert - 8:30pm - estimated - 1/8 slice Cracker Barrel sugar free apple pie + 3 bites sugar free vanilla ice cream + decaff black coffee (65cals + 9g nc) BS - 10pm - 10 Snyder's peanut butter stale pretzels + 1 package CM seaweed snacks with sea salt + glass cabernet (200cals + 17g nc) I impressed even myself with this...and I "found" the peanut pretzels in the back of our pantry leftover from a last year family trip to Wurstfest in New Braunfels! 18. Yay! You don’t have to track just participate! On the other site, some list quantities, some list meticulously, and some just say: b-protein drink l-turkey jerky stick d-mashed sweet potatoes and salmon not even any macros or quantities! The idea is just to be accountable and get ideas from others! It all works!!!!

    Frustrating weight loss

Search 3 week stall that can happen between weeks 2-6. It's a thing. You're doing great. Hang in there.
  20. Oh man I can relate! Every day I was at least a 7 or 8 on a 1-10 scale and really most days I was at a 9-10. I would cry daily. And took pain pills and drank to help dim the pain. It was an awful existence non-existence! I can tell you the difference at 5'4" and 56 years from 287lbs to 135lbs today is dramatically different!!! I still have neuropathy from cancer treatment/surgery, but my pain at the end of the day is a very manageable 3-4. I live life and can be active now! It's night and day difference in pain relief. And I only have had pain pills for an emergency surgery-and no alcohol for pain management either! It's a miracle! Can't wait for y'all to experience this!!!
  21. This makes a great microwave casserole. I mix it up in a big bowl, then spoon into 4oz ramekins and seal them for dinners.
