  1. So let me get this straight. Just because someone might jump to a snap judgement of “my way” of living eating post surgery , it means I should limit posting and posting my meals? Even though I say nothing derogatory about any of the other posts that are on the other end of the spectrum—like urs and kitty’s? Just trying to not jump to conclusions.

    Bypass or Sleeve

With Barrett's there IS no other option for you but RNY. If he disagrees, run as far and fast from the di*k as you can! ((hugs)) He sees you as lambchops (with 2 surgeries) in front of him when he looks at you--not a patient.

    Starting Purees today!

Try the nutritional yeast. It's sooooo good and really adds a little cheese-ish flavor and great B-vitamins!

    New here

Welcome and lots of luck!! Make sure you talk to your surgeon and anesthesiologist and nurses about the kind of drug you are allergic too!
  6. well, congrats on the 18:6 with a 24hour IF in there! Wooohoooo. I wanna party with you someday! But I'm a VERY cheap drunk! LOL. Congrats on your IF day today. Accident or planned, our pancreas and livah don't care about the motivation for it. They just appreciate the break! And hells to the yeah baybbeeeee! I've been forking with these last pounds WAY too long. I will take whatever help I can get! Haha! With any luck I will be down at or below my current ticker weight tomorrow. (Praying) LOL. Otherwise, I think small animals may be sacrificed and a pentagram drawn on the floor...just sayin'. LOL. Oh but I did buy total craptastic stuff today at the heb. (Like canned chicken/tuna/sardines, pre-made brown gravy, campbell's cream soups, etc...) Ha! Oh and @GreenTealael totally made me jones for the strawberries and cream PP. So I got some of those in addition to my old flames bananas and cream and chocolate.

    Weight Gain - phase 2/puree

What are you eating if you're having trouble getting protein in? How much fluid are you getting in daily also?
  10. Well hell! I'm pretty sure that's part of it! And y'all probably did a hellah amount of stuff this weekend beyond cardio. Anyway you slice it, that's fabulous!!!! Yay!!!

My RNY story two years post-op

Wow! Thanks so much for sharing! You look amazing! So sorry to read of your struggle, but truly hope things improve over time!!! ((hugs))
  12. Ha! That's why we need MANY voices here on this thread! With many examples!! Cuz then people can see a wide variety! Or wider variety! And yes, I may be at healthy BMI, but I'm not at my goal... and if you hang out and read much on this thread you will see that I'm still in WLM (weight loss mode). And unlike you guys, I have chosen to be in the camp who says WLM = 600-800cals day. But that's just me. And nope still don't hate you. You give me hope that I may not have totally forked my metabolism when I do enter maintenance phase!!! Yay!!! That's really outstanding btw (2300???) and dropped 3 lbs. Fabulous!!! Congrats to you my friend!!
  13. Don't do it. Don't add crackers this soon. Take advantage of staying away from slidery foods! Just be a good girl and eat your tuna plain with a fork. Or use an ounce of avocado with it and a grape tomato. Whatever you're allowed at your stage. But at mine, if I could have tuna, I could have some avocado. Those having issues getting fluids down, experiment with the temperature. To this day, room temp and warm/hot go down easier for me than cold. Cold makes me belch and knots up my tool a little.

I've got the 6 month post op blues

Yeah. Sorry you are going through this. But you are right on time. Welcome to the club. IT happens to most of us about 6 months out. And it IS up to us how serious we treat this life changing surgery. IF you are not one of the "lucky ones" with super tight restriction, you have to really have a talk with yourself and decide how worth it is to you to continue to do the work. What got my head back in the game was mixing things up and setting new goals, new wonky eating patterns etc. And I had to keep reminding myself that healthy food is where it's at from now on--not in snacky slider land. Start eating that dense protein again!!! MAKE it hard. Food SHOULD feel hard to eat right now. You still want negative feedback. Don't go for easy. Stop the slider crap. Stop the snack habit. Just do it hon. You are worth it. You've come too far to stop now. Reach for the sky. Reach for your goals.

    Struggling with family

Sorry about the loss of your mom! ((hugs)) Doesn't matter why someone chooses to have this surgery. They are all equally important and nobody's motivation or fight is more important than another. They are all valid reasons. If someone is MO, do we care? Let em get the surgery and experience the benefits all around. I guarantee no one will miss understanding how much better they feel. The proof will be in the pudding. You can't miss it. IT hits you upside the head how much better you feel.

3 months post op restriction ?

Yep, to this day I measure and weigh everything but I'm an outlier. And AR.

3 months post op restriction ?

Yeah, you have 2 groups of peeps who count carbs: those who net, and those who do not--but mostly they probably only saw the word "tortilla" and extrapolated that it was a standard carb one.

    💜AUGUST 2019 CHALLENGE💜

Ok, dance party done!!!! Def Leppard Rocket did it for me! 6 minutes! SIX! B Side Question: Best Compliment? Answer: "I love being with you--you're so much fun!"
  21. Most of us have never and may never see our "ideal" body weight as defined by the ASMBS/Insurance Chart and that's because it's an archaic formula based on 1950's weight people. So it's pretty unrealistic for most of us, but nevertheless, it's the formula used by ASMBS certified doctors (COE docs) the world over. Here's how it's figured for a woman: 100lbs for the first 5 feet of height + 5lbs for every inch over 5 feet. Sample: 5'4" woman would have an "Ideal" weight of 100 + (4x5) = 120lbs I'm 5'4" and very average but have some extra skin. But at 120lbs I think I would look pretty damn skinny. But you may be saying "ideal" as in your "BDG" = Barbie Dream Girl weight? Which is anything you dream it to be...but that may be how YOUR goal will be determined, it just isn't the way your doc or RD determines your target goal or the projected % EBW loss (excess body weight loss).
  22. Ack. Hoping you feel better soon! Ty! I'm sure it's just a little hiccup. Nothing major. (But I'm just hard headed enough to use this time as an excuse to finally reach Goal #3! hehehe)
  23. FluffyChix

3 months post op restriction ?

I could eat that much at 3 months, but the bigger question is "Should I?" or Should YOU? What is your quantity you should be having at 3 months? Cuz at 3 months, I think my total volume range per meal was between 1/2-1cup--focusing on trying not to exceed 3/4cup. At almost 18months, I still only have a maximum volume of 1cup allowed--even though I can easily exceed that at any meal...
