  1. Well, she has a point. She is purist. The sugar free sweeteners do often have a silent cephalic insulin response. So that's a no for the sf pops and sf jello. But using her reasoning, the whey protein isolate you are drinking in 3-4 shakes a day will spike your insulin WAAAAAAAYYYYYY more than the SF pops or jello. I'd follow their advice and see if you can disguise the taste of the shakes enough...

    Pre op diet!

I agree with @catwoman7--the first days are the worst! Hang in there. Stay busy and drink busloads of water, decaff black coffee, decaff green tea and your protein drinks. Also sugar free popsicles and a sf jello per day.

Non-Vets Able to Post in Vets Forum?

5 more days...just sayin'...5 more days and it's official. I will graduate from Sophomore to Vet.
  7. Ok, I'd post a picture of this, but it's boring. LOL. I LOVE this cup of protein latte!!! LOVE it--am I YELLING? Cuz it feels like I am! So it's super simple: 1 cup of decaff (make sure it's DECAFF!!) 2oz Protein Drink (made up into a shake)--any flavor but this one is chocolate RTD Premier Protein, but there are other RTD whey ISOLATE drinks out there--just look at GNC or Vitamin Shoppe or Walmart/Costco/Sam's, etc. Ground Cinnamon Liquid Chocolate Flavored Stevia (to taste--optional) Sprinkle cinnamon into cup. Pour in your 2 ounces of shake. Top with hot coffee. Add a few drops of liquid stevia (if desired) and enjoy! You can drink on these all morning to get your protein in! And it keeps you from gnawing your arm off to escape the hunger trap!
  8. Call them and tell them your struggles. They aren't out any money. LOL. YOu already bought them. But ask for a 2nd options. I used a lot of Isopure Protein Powder. You have to blend them (in my opinion), and I love to use decaff coffee as the base and add ice to them. Make sure your broth is as low carb as possible and hopefully doesn't have sugar in any form within the first 5 ingredients. I loved using the HerbOx Sodium Free packets that you buy in a box. Both the beef and chicken are really tasty. I also used sugar free jello cupz (not the pudding) and sugar free popsicles. I would have 1 each of those a day and I drank a crapton of water too. Black decaff coffee and black (uncreamed) green tea (decaff) are wonderful too. And I stayed busy. So busy! Walk! Don't sit and watch tv or tv commercials. This is the hardest part of the journey hon.

    15 Years Post-Op and I’m still going!!

You rock it woman!!!! That's amazing and wonderful!!! You look fabulous! How do you feel?
  12. Meat Lube. Don't try dry at this stage. I think for the first 2 months anything I ate had a spoon of low cal, low fat, low/no sugar gravy on it--or Marinara--or light Alfredo sauce. I used moist meats and tiny bites. And being WELL hydrated will help improve your ability to keep things down. You don't have to cook meat in it, just top the meat with some meat lube. Sorry about the foamies, step back a stage today to let the irritation heal.
  13. With your amount of workouts, you seriously may not be getting in enough food. Also, try mixing things up. Do 1 day of OMAD or a 36 hour fast then a 2MAD in an 18:6 window. Have a feast day where you eat over your normal cals but make it healthy food (not a bunch of junk). How much protien are you getting? I found help with varying how much I got each day. Some days have been mostly veggies and only 20g of protein or less (autophagy days). Lots of good material in this thread! So sorry you are stuck. Stalls suck! Congrats on losing over 70% of your weight! I would think you could lose more if you want. It may just take some time. Right? Don't give up. Congrats on losing 114lbs!!! WTG!
  14. Yes. It's a seminal moment when you realize that and can get through the grieving so you have room and energy to learn new ways. It's totes worth it in the long run!

    pre packed meals snacks breads

(no inspiration here), just an average--very average--shmo on the internet trying to figure out how to hack myself. And what works for me, just doesn't work for a lot of people.
  16. I think I ate 1/2 an egg that first meal--also at 2 weeks. Congrats on graduating. Eat by the book--don't chase the satisfied or full feeling cuz it's not really working so well right now for most of us. I think it's 1-2oz by volume at that point if I remember correctly?

    pre packed meals snacks breads

I'm an outlier. (disclaimer) In the early days, I used pre-packaged foods cuz I ate so little, and it was convenient not to have to cook. Then as I graduated to lean/mean weight loss machine terms, I kicked most of the pre-pared convenience stuff to the curb so I could max out my losses in the shortest time. Now that I'm very close to goal, I'm adding some of them back in--not sure if that's healthy to do--cuz the least processed the better in my opinion. I think it's a YMMV (your mileage may vary) thing. Some use and still lose quickly, others stall and get lost within the seduction of high reward treats and convenience. I do use shirataki noodles though, some Epic sticks, some beef jerkey, some protein drinks/powders and the occasional bite of a bar for a sweet hit. It's just not often.
  18. On around 9.01.18 when I started IF again at around 7 months post op, I weighed 167.2lbs and had been locked in a stall from hell...Today I weigh 135.4lbs. It takes time. And sometimes you have to heal inside before it starts showing externally on the scale. But without having your details it's impossible to say if you are doing IF correctly, and taking in the right amount of nutrition, etc... Welcome btw!
  19. Yummo!!!! That sounds great! Love crab 🦀 & every shellfish You can even puree it up so it's creamy texture.
  20. Ok, so I'm on a soft foods mission from God these days. LOL! I'm having a bit of an affair with Healthy Request Condensed Cream Soups. Today I tried and made cream of mushroom and crab soup. It was totes awesome and ridiculously easy. Just open some cans and pour into a pot--basically. Cream of Mushroom Crab Soup (or use your favorite healthy canned cream soup flavor): You basically just whisk everything but the protein powder together in a small saucepan and let it simmer for about 5 minutes. You can add whatever spices you want. I also nuked 2 oz of broccoli until very tender and chopped it up pretty small. Then to every serving, I just add 1/4 of the whey protein powder and a spoon or two of soup and stir it into a paste, then add the rest of the soup and the protein powder dissolves like magic. Then I added the broccoli to the bowl. It makes about 4-5 (1/2c) servings and is fabulous. If you don't like broccoli you can add cauliflower, chopped spinach, more mushrooms. But I am focusing on frozen soft veggies right now. So so so good. I may have it for dinner tonight!!! Here's the nutrition totals with 4 servings per recipe (makes about 1 cup of soup with the broccoli added):
  21. Yum!!!! Love the idea of pizza sauce in a bottle and the chicken sausage!!! *drool*
