Wooohoooo everyone! I just found this thread! Is it still in effect for Summer 2019? I rarely do the NSVs, cuz everyday feels like an NSV to me these days and I don't wanna hog the NSV threads! But I had to share this cuz I just had a realization! For the last 2 mornings, I "ran" for 60 minutes and 65 minutes continuous at a 3mph (about 5kph) rate. That means, I ran 3.1m yesterday and 3.2m today and guess what? That's a freaking 5K!!! Wooot! I will take that any day of the week!! Yay me. NSV!

Laughter releases endorphins and oxytocin (the feel good hormone). So does crying btw...but I'd rather laugh.

Congrats everyone!!! The pain does get better. Walk, walk walk. Sip sip sip. The more hydrated, the better!!! Drink it slowly. Vary temps until you find the one that works best for you. Also if needed, take that liquid tylenol at the first sign of pain. It really cuts it to a very manageable level!!!

Anxiety and head hunger are killing me

Yeah the breathing of this and the rhythmic strokes are meditative. Great exercise for it! Google four square breathing and also 8:6 breathing. (high 5 from a former fellow swimmer) -
In a pinch, sure. You should check out this thread for ideas:

Yep this. This is what I get with RH. I have to eat some protein and a bit of carb to fix it. I take my blood sugar reading and then dose a glucose tablet accordingly, then eat protein 30 minutes afterward (once my bg comes back up) to stabilize it.

Yes, it's very common. It will pass! Do mindful things for yourself to help get through it! 1. Sunlight every day--exercise/walk outside if you can and also supp Vitamin D and Vit C. 2. EXERCISE hard every day--walk fast if that's all you got. 3. Eat healthy! Maintain good control over what goes down your piehole and cut out any crap if you're eating it. IT helps you feel successful. 4. Watch comedies. Laugh a lot. 5. Deep breathe--especially when you're in the middle of an episode of sadness. Google Four Square Breathing. 6. Develop a network of friends and likeminded people. 7. Get a creative outlet, even if it's coloring on your mobile phone! 8. Get enough sleep! Work on developing good sleep hygiene so you really get deep sleep. 9. Focus on happy thoughts, on the future, on victory. 10. Stand in front of your mirror in a super hero pose for 60 seconds each day and imagine yourself winning the day and being happy.

Has anyone else felt this way?
FluffyChix replied to Miss.ferby's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
So I agree, we all go through this to one extent or another. The shame and stigma attached to WLS and obesity is really so sad. It's diagnosed by the AMA as a disease. That means doctors are allowed to treat us for this disease and insurance has to cover it, if it's listed as a covered feature of their plans. Obesity like many diseases is multi-factoral. Do we have some amount of culpability? Absolutely. But at the core, there is some element of broken-ness within that then takes our body out of homeostasis and hormonally sets us up for heartache down the road. Most of us are champion losers. But most of us are hideous maintainers. Sure there is ricidivism (reverting to old ways and patterns with eating/food), but our body also has a desire to take us back up and level us off at our last HIGHEST weight level. Yikes! Hello regain? Yes. WLS helps break this cycle. It is a metabolic reset. It is actually (or can be) more of a weight maintenance tool than it is a weight loss tool. But like with any tool, it is up to us to use the tool correctly. Don't use a screw driver to hammer in a nail. And just like with any disease, take heart disease...do you blame the patient for needing a heart bypass or stint if lifestyle changes and medicine doesn't work to reverse their CHD? No...we don't. Then it's unfair for MO people to be blamed for needing a surgical intervention to help normalize a substantially broken metabolism. This is what finally gave me peace about my surgery. I also have PCOS since I was 13-14y. My highest weight was 325lbs. My recent high was 287lbs. I weigh 134lbs this morning. I'm 56y. I'm not any great shakes. But I am determined and focused and have chosen to put my love/adoration of food to the side in favor of kicking ass and taking names in the healthy living department. I just "ran" 65minutes straight this morning. When I first started I was chair/bed bound and couldn't stand or walk for more than 5 minutes. You can do this. But you do have to want to change and you have to apply yourself. My RD said that PCOS makes it harder and wl slower for patients. It's partly why I did the RNY over the VSG. -
This. (I don't wait 30 minutes before a meal though--I used to wait 15mins.) But my RD said as long as you don't have restriction with liquids and it goes out of your tum super quick, then you can drink right up to the point of eating. I do wait 30-45 mins after eating though.

This is basically a variation of my recipes I developed on Fluffy Chix Cook years ago. It always aggravates me when cooks don't give the inspiration link who inspired their version. It's just common decency. 😕 https://fluffychixcook.com/coconut-flower-oat-fiber-pyslli-wraps-atkins-owl-friendly/ https://fluffychixcook.com/basic-psylli-wraps-low-carb-gluten-free/ https://fluffychixcook.com/egg-fast-recipe-lo-lo-psylli-wraps-version-4-induction-grain-free-gluten-free/ https://fluffychixcook.com/coconut-flour-oat-fiber-psylli-buns-and-wraps-from-shannon-harding/ https://fluffychixcook.com/page-4-wraps-low-carb-keto-tortillas-induction-friendlygluten-grain-free/ https://fluffychixcook.com/keto-boboli-copykat-low-carb-keto-gluten-free/ -
Anyone have CT Scans few weeks after surgery to pinpoint issues?

Yes. I had one with contrast and a barium swallow and an xray. I was full of poo.... -
Freakish Restriction???
FluffyChix replied to KarenLR75's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So sorry. At 3 1/2 weeks (I think it was about that)...I had that same issue. Suddenly started projectile vomiting and dry heaving...couldn't keep water down. Went to the ER. Got fluids and spasm meds for my bowels. So. Much. Pain. They did a CT scan and barium swallow and drumroll please...Turns out I was full of poo. After a MASSIVE cleanout on the #2 tracks with MOM, everything returned to normal. As embarrassing as that might be, I truly hope that's what is going on with you and they get it figured out soon! Glad your doc is on board and taking you seriously!! -

Intermittent Fasting Daily Menu/Results/Accountability
FluffyChix replied to FluffyChix's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
What do your meals and eating window look like? Can you post a day or 2 of typical food/schedule? My RD is on board with my IF/EFs but said I really need to have days where I not only fluctuate low on protein but follow those with days I fluctuate higher in my range. That staying at 50-60 every day is a little on the low side and could cause probs down the road long term. -

If your urine is dark, you're likely dehydrated. IF and low carb cause you to lose extra fluid. I get 100floz in per day as a minimum. Try drinking more water if possible? ((hugs))
