    Arthritis

Not nsaids for sure. In any form per my surgeon. But talk to your doctor about your concerns. It's amazing what losing the weight does to inflammatory diseases and pain levels.

    WTF Hunger?

Follow your doc's plan. Don't deviate.

    WTF Hunger?

So the idea of eating liquids and things without texture or grain is that they don't want to stimulate the gut to start "churning" and scrunching like it does when solid or semi-solid foods are introduced. When I was on full liquids I was allowed: clear fluids without sugar or caffeine, protein drinks, and yogurt that was low carb/low sugar and free of any fruit that was thinned down to pourable consistency (think soup texture). I was also allowed ice pops (sf) and sf jello. The problem with eating pureed soups thinned down at this stage is that even pureeing chicken will leave a sludgish texture that has grit or grain to it. And it will cause your stomach to grind too much. So don't try to game the system. If it doesn't appear on your plan, don't do it. LOL. You CAN make up cream soups with Fairlife FF Milk. Strain it and slowly add in a scoop of unflavored protein in order to up your protein content of the meal. That would add smooth consistency, absence of texture and should help satiety by upping your protein. And FYI, 1 pint should take you about 8 hours or more to consume at your stage. Each meal 2 hours apart and 4oz per meal approximately.

    WTF Hunger?

Dude, there is nothing "accidental" about falling into a quart of egg drop soup at 8 days post op. And are you supposed to be able to eat purees at 8 days? You do not want to pop a suture line. You gotta own mistakes to change them. ((hugs)) PPI = omeprazole (H2 acid blocker), nexium, prilosec, etc

    WTF Hunger?

Yes. It's normal. Please don't over eat at this point. Please take it slowly. Drink water when hunger hits. It may also be stomach acid. Are you taking a PPI? Please don't advance your diet ahead of your doc's plan. You can do this!

    Barimelts multivitamin

I love the Celebrate 3-in-1 multi chewable in tangerine or citrus--can't remember the flavor. Also love the Celebrate Chewy Calcium Citrate. Love all the fruit flavors, but watermelon rocks me! Also love the chocolate--like candy. Also loved the Chewable Iron from Celebrate in Tangerine. OHHH and loved the vitamin powder drink mix--especially in citrus. Tastes like Tang! I still drink it some mornings cuz I want me some Tang!

  19. In your situation, I'd probably do that to. Find out from your RD if you gain 5lbs between now and then, will you get in trouble with insurance or the doctor? Ring Ring... Hello, Frito Lay? Can you send me all the Fritos Scoops and Bean Dip along with a case of Pringles and Lays? And go ahead and throw in a couple of Banh Mis, please? **** Ring Ring... Hello Utz? Please send me a case of Cheesy Poofs (balls). kthnxbye.

    Food Before and After Photos

I love my healthy meals. My super power is maxing the number of protein grams for the calorie. haha. This is 1/2 of a recipe of tuna salad with some kim chi (raw) and veggies. There were no survivors.
  21. So I'm finally at a point of being able to respond, Kitty. Sorry for the delay--but I was thinking about your points all last night and this morning. It wasn't entirely out-of-the-blue, though. She's been saying this to me along with my RD since I hit about 145lbs. They wanted me to stop there cuz they said I had a darling figure that looked right on me and that if I went lower I would look drawn and frail. And yet, I just put their advice aside and went on about my merry agenda. Right? What's messed up (among other things) is that yesterday I was so anxious to see her cuz as usual, I was afraid I "hadn't lost enough" weight or wasn't low enough to "win WLS" and not get a lecture for failing or lack of trying. I was actually worried cuz the scale here was 135.2lbs which was about the same as it was last time in her office. I felt like I should be below 130lbs by now. But my body has resisted and resisted. So although it wasn't unexpected--no one expects the Spanish Inquisition (ty Monty Python). You know? So I wasn't expecting her gentle finger-wagging from the opposite perspective, nor did I miss the fact that she "casually" asked if I'd like to see their new RD since my old one is now at another hospital where I do my support group. So I have 2 RDs on the case now. And of course, I told her, "Sure! When?" LOL. I know for sure she does see me clearly without bias and always operates from a Best Practices perspective, plus she genuinely cares about her patients!! She's so talented and such a healer! I know rebound isn't inevitable but part of me is still so fearful of the zombie apocalypse where all the slain pounds lay waiting to leap on me and I revert to my former poor habits and miscreant deeds that got me to the Obesity Ball. I'm that much of a backslider! (potentially) And yeah, the studies...for sure. Both she and RD1 told me about them that there is no evidence that being midway or lower in your normal zone is healthy for older peeps. It's actually associated with a great all-cause mortality. But ugh...you know? I just wanna be thin. And if I die? I want to die thin (not anorexic). Just thin. Messed up. I know... As to what do I replace the obsession with--I think it's gonna have to be fitness. I really pondered that. I need to build some muscles especially in my arms and legs and core and booty. Well fu*k! IN mah bod! And I'd like to pick my speed up on "ralking" now that I'm actually able to run an entire 5K at one time. Something I never thought would be possible. Even though I pay for it afterward with increased fatigue/pain, it just feels worth it once it's gone. Thanks for caring and for asking the tough questions that make me think! I really value your opinion and friendship! (Ironically, I woke up to a new low -- barely -- of 133.2lbs this morning. I ate like a rabid dog last night. So. much. steak and chicken. and salad. and loaded broccoli.)
  22. You need to be higher. You will lose at anything under 1500 at this point.

Are you a Bronte sister? Or maybe Anne Shirley? Nice piece! Wish I could chime in. You have a definite writing style and meter/tempo/cadence I feel as I read your work. You've got talent.
