What is your diet like? Do you plan, track, weigh, measure, or anything like that? Just curious. We don't see many people from 2004 procedures here.
  3. Yay! How bout a full meal? What kind of volume? (Last night I had 3oz foil fish = 1/2c + 1/2c zucchini noodles in lite alfredo + 1c of chopped salad with iceberg lettuce, spinach, cucumber, onion, avocado and WF Italian Dressing). I ate it all in 20 minutes. I was satisfied but not stuffed.) *I'm in official "oh crap" fear mode.*
  4. So what kind of meal volume are you eating now when you feel the first signal of fullness?
  5. That's beyond awesome about the new lease on your restriction!!!!

    Salad

Outlier Alert!!!! I started salads at 4 weeks. I started with baby spinach and purple onion and feta and Walden Farms Italian Dressing. I still eat at least 1 salad or green soup a day. I love them. And I can eat more salad than other food cuz it all has so much water in it, and is slightly sliderish for me. I always add 2-3oz of protein to it. Last night I had foil wrapped basa, chopped salad (iceberg, spinach, cucumber, radish, onion, avocado, grape tomato, low fat feta, Walden Farms Italian), and zucchini noodles with light Classico Alfredo. There were no survivors. I'm 17 months out. My advice is to go slowly. Protein FIRST! And keep your salads lean and mean! Do not go for a bunch of high calorie toppings like dressings, full fat cheese, croutons, bacon, etc. Figure out a way to keep them VERY light. Most of my salads are WELL under 100cals including dressing. It's very easy to have a 700 calorie salad if you don't control those variables.

    Traumatic Aug 12th op

Gosh! What a wild ride!!! What caused the extreme pain? I'm so sorry you had to go through this terror! And so glad you are doing so well! ((hugs)) FYI? I didn't have any complications or problems with pain and my abdomen looked like your's after my surgery too. Lovenox. Gotta love it. It puts on quite a "color show". Luckily most of us can absorb it. And you don't have to "love" the protein period, you just have to figure out a way through it. Try cutting your protein with things that take the sweetness away: 1. Decaff Coffee 2. Decaff Tea 3. High Protein Milk (like Fairlife milk or Fat Free Milk + Skim Milk Powder) 4. Greek Yogurt thinned down with milk to a pourable consistency 5. Water Add unflavored protein to soups. Get soup from the market (fresh) and strain it and drink the liquids. Hang in there and heal well! Walk, walk, walk, sip, sip, sip!!

    OOTD

Love the outfits ladies!!! Polka dots, stripes, short dresses, and confi-mom outfits!!!!
  13. Yay girlie!!! You ARE a fierce warrior!!!! What I love about you (and find SO inspiring) is that you own your junk. And you figure out how to hack it to get back to your norm/happy place. And you keep trying and DO-ING until you achieve success!! That's a powerful lesson, not only in life, but here in the post-bari apocalyptic world! You know!?! One thing...with the warrior diet, it's important to throw some variation in there. Mix things up like, maybe doing ADF warrior OMAD or 20:4 combined with 2MADs and even 1 "controlled" feast day. You might even stick a complete 24 or 36 hour water fast at some point in the plan. With IF, it isn't necessary to be keto or low carb, especially if you are metabolically flexible (able to move easily between fat burning and sugar burning). So, so glad this thread has been able to help you get back to your happy place! We missed you!

What a Difference a Poop Makes!

Pooping makes the world go around! The world go around! The world go around! Many think this song should be about money, but nah...I think it's all about the (Mr. Hanky). Good Lord! So I've been through MOM 60ml x 3 days, Mag Citrate 400mg Pills Daily, Mag Citrate Liquid (1/3 bottle--oh the humanity! Never again!), Smooth Move Tea, and Miralax x 2 days, psyllium 12g x 3 days, chia seed pudding (standing by), and daily Colace 250mg pills...and finally. Finally! FINALLY! The earth moved. I would like to thank the academy. I feel such a sense of relief. I was seriously bloated, uncomfy, was 4 lbs up on the scale, and generally in a pissy mood yesterday. I was miserable. Now, this morning...I feel light as a feather and so relieved. No more pain, distended tummy, nuttin honey. Life is good again. Nowwwww....wax eloquently and profusely about how much better you feel when the trains are rolling down the track on schedule!!! Ok, go!

What a Difference a Poop Makes!

Yeah. You need to call the doc. That's not normal and it could be so many things. But all of them MUST be investigated. They will want you to have a stool sample usually and it's very important you do that and also practice extraordinary hand washing skills and hygiene. Also use a separate bathroom for now if you can and clean your's very very well for them before anyone else uses it. ((hugs))

What a Difference a Poop Makes!

How long has this been happening to you? Have you talked to your doctors about it or your RD? That is not a usual response to last so long after surgery, hon.

What a Difference a Poop Makes!

EF=Extended Fasting aka Dr. Jason Fung and Megan Ramos in IDM program. They reverse a lot of diabetes T2 patients--especially with extended fasts, but with you it would be imperative to have medical supervision...they also work with a bunch of bariatric patients.

Have you thought about going low carb and or doing IF's and EF's?

    another wild weight loss alternative

What if you had a sadistic doctor like in Little Shop of Horrors and he/she went around zapping you just for fun? LOL.

What a Difference a Poop Makes!

Is there any way your doc would supervise you with fasting? Mr. F. is ok to fast with metformin, but he was able to stop his T2 drug (think it was Januvia? or something...) by IF and low carb/keto...just trying to spitball. Lantus absolutely will make you gain or make weight loss very difficult.
  23. FluffyChix

What a Difference a Poop Makes!

Sorry to hear that, but metformin may be a good thing!!! It will help heal you cuz it makes you more insulin sensitive!!! Hopefully the weight loss starts again!!!
  24. YAY!!! Absolute BEST outcome! See? I told you, you're just full of poop! 2 MAXIMUM doses of 60ml each? Make sure to hydrate both before and after!!
  25. Yay!!!! That's fantastic!!!! Congrats to you and thank the Whoosh Fairy!! And your hard work/determination. Love that IF!
