Oh sweetie! ((hugs)) This process isn't easy!! It's really hard and some days it's harder than others!!! But even as hard as it is every day? It's still the "easiest" we'll ever have it to get substantial, life changing weight loss to be a reality for us. Right? So glad to hear you are working the plan and experiencing success! Feels great doesn't it?!! Be proud of your efforts!! -
Congrats on graduating!!!! I had a soft scrambled egg with cottage cheese in it and some cheddar. The cheese caused me issues, but stirring in a spoon of greek yogurt or sour cream and cooking until creamy would have worked better! The egg went down great though!

First 1-2 week foods ideas post surgery
FluffyChix replied to Scorpio1978's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I mostly did protein drinks, watered yogurt down with Fairlife Milk and used different flavors to add punch to it. I did some butternut squash soup, some tomato soup (too acidy for me at first), and a ton of broth and cream of chicken and cream of mushroom soups. I also did won ton soup without the noodles--just broth from a Chinese food place. I'd mix in protein (unflavored) into all my soups while it was cold then gently heated it to no more than 140 cuz I didn't like when the protein clumped when it got too hot. I did not do well with the bean soups/pea soups. Gassy but also carby and that made me hungry. Then SF popsicles and sf jello. Oh and I did a ton of decaf coffee with my protein drinks in it as both hot and cold (iced) lattes and blended frappacinos. -
Food- best nutritional for limited volume
FluffyChix replied to 2Bsmaller18's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
I love things like: Green Soup (2-3oz of shrimp cooked in bone broth with any kind of chopped greens and frozen onion, pepper, celery blend -- then I spice it however I feel like it. I also love salads cuz I can eat more at a meal and I focus on 2-3oz of dense protein (salmon, tuna, sardines, shrimp, Boar's Head lunchmeat turkey or chicken. or lite liverwurst to get more iron in) and use Walden Farms or Triple Zero dressings. Then I add healthy fats with controlled amounts of avocado, olives, reduced fat cheese, pumpkin or sunflower seeds. I can get a ton protein and nutrients for around 100 cals. I also love fish, shrimp, and all seafood cuz it's a lot of protein per ounce (or can be) and very low in cals. Also green smoothies with protein powder, frozen spinach, frozen blueberries (1oz), peanut butter powder and cashew milk is very dense. I also add whole pysllium husks for more fiber and a shake that sticks to your ribs! -

No. Then I wouldn't. I would bake them just to make multiples. But I have my single egg puff down to about 3 minutes or work for breakfast using the microwave and that way it's fresh anytime I want it. But it's a cool idea if you don't have an oven or don't use the micro! -
I'd be bored too. Why are you so limited? Add fish, ground turkey, chicken, seafood of all kinds, canned tuna, chicken and salmon to make salads out of using hardboiled egg, cottage cheese, greek yogurt (plain) and spices with some mustard and dill relish. Lunch meats, veggies of all kinds. Some small amounts of nuts. Some avocado and olives for healthy fats.

I so agree! So sorry not to comment on each person's SOOO CUTE outfits and how fine they look!!! Pinterest helped me decide how I wanted to reinvent myself. Only thing is my fat brain won't let me buy super tight things very easily...so my look is still too baggy.

Fat and Carb intake at stage 3
FluffyChix replied to Bianca S.'s topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I wasn't given a goal either. She only wanted me to worry about protein and the goal was and is 60-80g although she's now backed that down to a range of 50-75g. Here's a glimpse of my MFP goals I set at Stage 3: The top is what I actually got. Also, MFP adds in exercise macros. And I never try to eat that back cuz it's doesn't help my weight loss/maintenance any. So my goal for the day at that time was set at 600cals. Here's where I set my goals to: I was very hyperinsulinemic, so I kept carbs low and limited to most coming from veggies and sometimes a bit of berries. The focus was and is on protein. And I had to keep fats low cuz I would get nauseated from too much fat in the meal--especially early out. -
What are your symptoms after eating meat? The salmon is probably too high fat for you right now and sits heavy, making you queasy. That used to happen to me, although now, I do just fine with it. Try a white fleshed fish like basa/pangasius/swai (all the same fish)--it's very delicate and mild.

((Hugs)) You aren’t alone!! Come here often and read and post! Get support! Give support and be strengthened by it. When you’re tempted come post!!! Quit testing cuz that’s not really what you are doing-that’s just the label you put on it to feel better. You can’t game the process. Trust me on that. This is hard. So hard. But if you work it and use the time wisely it will also be the best time, the transformative time, and a time of huge growth and healing! Welcome to the boards. This is a great group of amazingly successful and helpful friends! You WILL figure this ou as you go. For me doing the head work was the hardest part!

How much food should I be eating?
FluffyChix replied to MinnieSD's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Yep. What everyone else said. Volume is KING. Through every phase it's very important to follow their volume instructions for your stage. Stage 1 & 2 is usually 1/8-1/4c. Usually calories (liquids) take caree of themselves. If you are getting in your 48-60g of protein at that point from liquids, it is usually about 300-500 cals. As you progress, you will be at 60-80g of protein and Stage 3 & 4 will look more like 1/4c-1cup max. Anything you eat needs to fit within your cup. So if you eat 1-2oz of dense protein by weight, it goes into your measuring cup for your appropriate volume limit for the meal. 1-2oz of protein can take up as much space as 1/2cup of volume. -
Soft scrambled eggs with cottage cheese and cheddar with taco bell mild sauce. In retrospect I should have held off on the cheese cuz it caused me terrible issues afterward.
