Absolutely! Me2! And that makes perfect sense!!
-
Why? You're totally gonna have the bod for a Cabo trip!
-
Good luck! Can't wait to hear all about it!!!
-
I'm beyond excited for you!!! Go and live it up. Take lots o' pics--cuz you know, we need em. And worry about the maintenance when you return. Treat it as an experiment on how long it takes you to get back down and how large of a bounce you had eating ad libitum. Of all the carbolicious nonsense in the land of pasta and pizza and wine, oh my!!!

Food Before and After Photos
FluffyChix replied to GreenTealael's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Totally understand! I used to be such a total cheesehead. But RBB Poops have kinda broken the spell. Now, it's kinda like playing Russian Roulette with the throne and train schedules...but I have a couple of ideas up my sleeves using Good Culture (cultured 2% cottage cheese to replace the shredded cheese, plus a spoon of different protein powders, plus nutritional yeast for savory to replace parmesan flavors. So we'll see. Being in maintenance is bringing out the dormant foodie on the weekends. Weekdays I'm still nose to the grindstone KISS, lean, mean, and green. But weekends are more loosey goosey, now with limits. LOL! -

Ok, well that would do it!!! So it was cheesetacular? Have you tried the skim mozzarella one with almond flour and different flavor profiles by any chance? -
Ok, I thought it would be fun to put a daily thread in about keeping track of how many miles we walk or run each day/week. It's an informal account. Just take your previous total and add to it as often as you want! It would be fun to keep track each day! I will go back to Monday (the start of the week for me) and add figures. You can do it in either steps or miles/kms. Let's get physical, y'all!

I'm not hungry... I want food.
FluffyChix replied to NagathaChristie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Head hunger sucks balls! There I said it. LOL. And I thought it was AWFUL in that post op phase where we were on liquids and soft foods!!! But please please please maximize this time and resist urges!! If you're craving pizza, try making broth with a tbsp of pizza sauce in it, season with basil and oregano, sprinkle with nutritional yeast (tastes like parmesan without it being cheese) and enjoy--guilt free!! Then when you are on soft foods, make The World According to Eggface's Ricotta Bake. It will take care of your pizza craving. Hang in there and remember drink LOTS of fluid!! Get your protein in any way you can. -
I think whey protein isolate is ok with lactose intolerance. So you can make smoothies with Isopure Whey Isolate Protein, or use Jay Robb Egg White Protein, or soy protein (yuk on the taste). Use unsweetened cashew, almond, or coconut milk. Use coconut yogurt (Sprouts, and Whole Foods carries them...also almond yogurt). Use nutritional yeast to replace parmesan cheese. Think there are some decent cheeses out there that are either lactose free or are made with nut milks? Dunno tho. Sorry for the homeschool stress on top of what you are dealing with healing from surgery and PO life. ((hugs)) Try to treat yourself gently!! Rest when you can. Make great food choices!!! And walk and meditate/pray for stress relief.

TOO MUCH PROTEIN = KIDNEY PROBLEMS???
FluffyChix replied to New&Improved's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It's important to drink lots of water to flush your body and help you release fat. As @catwoman7 said, unless there is an underlying kidney issue, then eating a low carb diet is nothing to be concerned with. 100g of protein is at the higher end for men, but it isn't "super high". It's a little more than adequate. And that should be the goal of anyone eating low carb. You should only try for adequate protein to the point that you satisfy daily protein needs and also promote satiety, but overeating protein is worse in that up to 50% of excess protein gets converted to sugar by the liver via gluconeogenesis. And this drives up blood sugar which spikes insulin which signals fat storage. So overeating anything--including protein can be counterproductive. Especially if you are a T2 or are hyperinsulinemic. It's best to calculate your actual protein needs and try not to exceed them. Then fill the rest of your diet with leafy greens and very low glycemic veg and healthy fats. Look up Dr. Jason Fung and also Dr. Eric Westman, also Virta Health (run by Drs. Stephen Phinney and Jeff ?? last name escapes me this morning). -
Sadly I haven't found the PS PP yet. So I'm using SF DaVinci Pumpkin Pie Syrup (World Market has them at this time of year) mixed with hot decaff and either Chocolate or Vanilla PP. I had choco yesterday and today I'm having vanilla. They both rock, and I add a sprinkle of cinnamon for jazz hands.

Ok, these are going crazy everywhere on the internet and especially at another site where I read. I know we used to make "protein waffles" in the old days of LC using protein powder, egg whites, and mozzarella cheese. But now they've stealth rebranded to Chaffles! (Those crafty millennial bloggers!) And now I can not help myself and have to make them. I even tried to buy one at Target online and pay to have it delivered today but they are so popular everyone is out of them! So now I have to wait til Friday for it to arrive! Wah! Look at what I bought myself for my birthday pressie! https://www.target.com/p/dash-mini-maker-waffle-aqua/-/A-52912898?ref=tgt_adv_XS000000&AFID=google_pla_df&fndsrc=tgtao&CPNG=PLA_Appliances%2BShopping_Brand&adgroup=SC_Appliances&LID=700000001170770pgs&network=g&device=c&location=9027638&gclid=CjwKCAjwq4fsBRBnEiwANTahcOdi4XMR9dU9M_IJdWTEkfKPZ90Id6ZEUswHepUP8UQRChVJdG9SqhoCgO4QAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds (link isn't an affiliate link btw) It's a mini chaffle maker (4" diameter!): Here is a popular recipe for them: Chaffles by Kasey Trenum https://kaseytrenum.com/keto-chaffle-recipe/ -
Isopure unflavored???
FluffyChix replied to NYJenn's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I love the isopure mixed in cold cream soups and things like smashed cauli soup or smashed cauliflower. Sorry to hear that!! What brand were you using? -
Keeper. (Elle Woods dress...just sayin)

Isopure unflavored???
FluffyChix replied to NYJenn's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I use the unflavored in savory dishes and in baking only. To mix with fluids, the fluid needs to be room temp and you make a slurry first. Then add the rest of the liquid to it slowly while stirring to get all the clumps out. Then you slowly nuke to warm. If you exceed 140degrees, it will clump. It's still edible. You can blend it sometimes. But it's not that appealing... I use things like ready to drink protein in my coffee (both hot and cold) and my teas (hot and cold) -

FluffyChix replied to Little Debbie 77's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Yes! I do! And I also believe in better living through chemistry for some "slightly more innocuous" "ingredients". LOL. I'm pretty sure this won't go on my tombstone: "It wot the Walden Farms Calorie Free Italian Dressing wot dun her in!" hehehehe But the old me mighta read: "It was that b***h Big Deb (formerly Little Debbie) wot did her in, in the kitchen pantry at midnight with a Zebra Cake!" -

I'd try to not exceed 16:8 then. And at least do 5:2 or ADF. Don't go under a 500cal deck is my thought. Even on restriction days. Just a thought! Congrats on not having a big bounce from working or boozing! ((hugs)) -
Terrified I Wonβt Lose Weight
FluffyChix replied to Little Debbie 77's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I honestly remember feeling this way! And I also never thought I'd possibly see my high school weight (Goal #1 150lbs). But hey, I'm a slow loser and all. Don't exercise overly much and here I am. I'm below Goal #3 135lbs! And feel 1000% bettah!!! If I can do this...you can do this. I'm nothin special and the only super power I have is that I know how to pack a crap ton of deeply nutritious food into 600-800 calories per day. -
Thank you everyone! I didn't mean to blow up this thread! LOL @Cheeseburgh NEVER underestimate the value of knowing how much each limb weighs!!! You never know when you might need that information!

Hey have either of you tried the Bolthouse Farms Salad Dressings? The ones that are 40cals for 2 Tbsp? Was wondering if you had, and if you had an opinion of the best one. I got the Verde Avocado. Dunno if they were going for Green Goddess or Creamy Jalapeno Ranch? It's kinda blah and a little on the sweet side. Opinions?
