Did I mention I live vicariously through you and your late night shenanigans? (Not that I'm dissatisfied about the way I eat--if I was, I'd change to a different plan and shake the tree...)

Carbs....and how much
FluffyChix replied to Nonnaof4's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That's me most days. I get over 1lb of veggies per day usually. I keep it to 50g total or about 30g net most days. Here's what I've had so far and dinner will likely be cauliflower and broccoli roasted and maybe a small salad plus baked fish. Oh and I had an ounce of grape tomatoes with mid morning snack. I will probably have a bedtime snack of either a salad or veggies with yogurt Ranch. This was me yesterday: -
7 days Post Op and scared

But I will say, with liquids you are most likely have not done any damage. It's just better to develop the habit of becoming satisfied with the correct program volume for your stage of healing and progression. -

^^^^This! They do NOT want us challenging the size of our tools in the early days. That means they don't want that stomach to churn and grind any more than it has to. At 7 days, I was on 2-4 fl oz max of liquids=1/4c-1/2c by volume. -

I'm so sorry to hear this news!!! ((hugs)) I'm not gonna tell you not to panic...I do know that kidneys and livers both get a lot of "incidentalomas" on them. I have two of them on my adrenals that have been there for years. But I think we instinctively know when we get a result like that...especially with your family history. I just also want to encourage you to strive for positivity as you process this challenge. It will be one of the hardest years of your life, but you CAN survive this! I had a very similar thing happen to me with my BCdx eight years ago. The PA called on Good Friday...ugh. Just so so sad to hear this news. Wish I could do something for you. -

Love this! Will try your's tomorrow! How long does it take the eggs to go room temp? I do already boiling water. Straight outta the fridge. Water boiling on high. Timer for 6.5 minutes. Then remove from the water and rinse under cold water (terribly wasteful) until I can remove peel with a spoon. Then eat immediately. -

TY!! I think that's what I'm leaning toward! Eventually there will be categories like: Eggs, Chicken, Beef, etc. -

I figured out with my SBegg method that I make a perfect 6.5 minute SB egg. LOL. And can repeat it. -
Our Texas grocery store. HEB = Here Everything's Better = H.E. Buttz (the founder's name). We call it "going heebing" LOL.

TY for the great tip! Sigh. Yeah, I do add white vinegar to the water and it does help. My issue is with timing or temperature or both? Cuz by the time I'm SURE the egg white will be solid where it hits the yolk, the yolk is over cooked and not runny any more. I'm deeply troubled by this lack of skill. LOL. I get skeezed out with runny whites but love runny yolks. Go figure. Huh? -

Should it be a snack if it's a bonafide meal size? I truly hate trying to figure categories out. Especially when I can't make it look "not-gooberish" if I do multiple categories...which of course this is. Sigh, maybe I need an Anytime Category? I had meant to do this to begin with until I had tons of recipes, then I'd start breaking down to sub categories but here's my thought to keep it clean-ish? Breakfast Lunch Dinner Snacks Bread Sweet Treats Soups/Stews Smoothies/Shakes -

I really like Dr. Weiner and if you can handle the carbs in his plan, it's a super duper healthy way! I'm so happy you found a way that works for you and makes you happy! I would be a sad monkey without my veggies!!! -

LOL. Here's a glamour shot for ya! I make 8 chaffles at a time and stick em in the freezer so I can pull one out and pop it in the air fryer basket and have a hot, crispy, chaffle in 3 minutes freezer to plate. And I was hankerin after avocado egg toast so I threw this together. Of course that meant making a soft boiled egg cuz I apparently am incapable of making poached eggs without leaving the egg white runny...so I just gave up, moved on, and switched to soft boiled eggs...It was pretty nummy. No survivors! Ding Dang Dong. So good! Ok, would you categorize this meal primarily as: Bread (cuz of the chaffle), Egg (cuz of the honkin huge egg), Avocado (well cuz just because), Breakfast, Lunch? TIA! -

Dunno...your stuff looks pretty awesome--so I'm not buying that you're no good at cookin! But love simplest! -
Can I get an AMEN?

You should make the mixture, then pipe it into little stars on a plastic lined plate or tray and freeze them. Then you take them out of the freezer and squirt it with SF Hershey's Syrup. It freezes instantly. So delish and it keeps them out of plain site being in the freezer!

Ok, not true. But to steal from @GreenTealael, now I'm ugly cryin'!!! -
Dooooooo eeeettttt! A meellllioooonnnn percent! They have so many healthy services today! Depending on where you live, they may have a grocery store that makes fresh food servings. Here's a few snaps from our HEB store. They make super beautiful pre-made meals to go--cooked fresh. So do places like Whole Foods and Sprouts and I think TJs? These are called "meal simple" and they're prepped for cooking. One meal would make 2 meals for us! But the store also sells these same meals already cooked and RTE.

Gosh they sneak back so STEALTH!!! ((hugs))
