Oh, I don't go away hungry. I just don't go away full. Does that make sense? I go away with the feeling like "Ok, I can go another 4-6 hours before the next meal..." but it's totally different than walking away "complete" and "full" or "stuffed". You know? It's very difficult to describe though. It's simply, "enough." If I was still hungry, I'd for sure up my veg quantity for the meal. My "no seconds" rule is about building new habits for the future. I used to be a seconds and thirds girl. But even more, you can see that going back for more after about 30 minutes or so can lead to regain. So I don't want to do feed the mouth craving for just another taste. And just for the record. My eating has never been about "seeing how little I can eat in a day". My eating has been all about see how MUCH nutrition, I can pack into my caloric intake and how much food quantity that can be so that I'm not starving all the time. It is always a case of fitting the most food into my macros for the day and will likely continue to be that way, cuz it makes me happy. And I'm clearly not starving to death.

Me 2. I just still try to do it by my meal volume size from the doc. And I eat as many times as needed to make my maintenance cal/macro target for the day. Obsessed much? LOL!

Good question. I actually weighed and measured the ingredients (not really packed). So now I know what to measure on a scale each time. For instance, I know ever salad that includes all of these ingredients will look like this: 10g purple onion 18g red bell pepper 14g baby carrot 30g cucumber 10g shredded cabbage 14g baby spinach (more for romaine or iceberg cuz it weighs more per volume) 8-10g arugula 2 to 2.5oz dense protein optional: 4-6g reduced fat cheese crumbles 4-8g pumpkin seeds or some kind of nut 14g avocado Zero cal dressing of some nature. That will make about 1 1/2 cups of loosely packed salad. It might even be closer to 2 cups.

Ok, the most AHHHH-mayzing Chaffle breakfast sandwich evs!! I heart my new silicone egg poachers from World Market!! They also have the mini waffle maker there too in tons of cute colors! This is ridiculously delish and I was even filled up with it!! Moooooooove over McDonalds! I give you the Chaffle Breakfast Open Faced with a Poached Southwest Egg White and 2% Deli Deluxe Cheese with Grape Tomatoes. All for around 150cals. I've said it before, I'll say it again but I'm the Calorie Whisperer--it's my super power. Here's my version of this chaffle recipe along with the link to where I first saw it. This makes 4 small chaffles perfect size for us. Here's the whole meal breakout: 143 calories; 13g protein; 7g fat; 8g carbs; 2g fiber; 6g net carbs Here's the mini DASH waffle maker. So worth buying... Here's the Egg Poachers at World Market -
I have to eat something really weird to feel "full" or eat way past my 1cup volume. Things that make me full: Glugging water quickly can fill me up to the point of discomfort. It's as if my roux limb reaches capacity then sends the full signal back up to my pouch stopping things. But I don't fully understand the physiology or science behind this. I just know this happens. Cottage Cheese eaten quickly within 5 minutes can back me up and make me full for hours. I can eat 9oz by volume. Dense dry chicken or pork eaten fairly quickly within 5 minutes can back me up and make me full for a few hours. I can eat 7-8oz by weight (terrifying cuz that's about 1 1/2cups of food by volume). Combined meal: 4-5oz dense dry protein (no sauce or meat lube) + 3oz al dente veggie + 1oz avocado + 1oz grape tomatoes can make me full for a few hours but not as full as cottage cheese. Mostly I just eat to my volume per meal and stop when no longer actively starving. That meal looks more like this: 3-4oz dense dry protein (no sauce or meat lube) + 2oz al dente veggie + 1oz avocado + 1oz grape tomatoes - I'm no longer hungry, but I don't have a full sensation either.

So happy with weightloss but exhausted
FluffyChix replied to Sandyyy's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Fu*k! I'm eighteen months and take in on average this week about 1000cals per day. I'd be exhausted too with that schedule! Do you really walk 10mi per day? Do you really go to the gym 4 days per week? Do you really do elliptical on top of that? Do you also do yoga and stretching and your doctor thinks you aren't DOING ENOUGH? For reals? That's total insanity! You're getting in 500cals or less per day. I gotta call BS. No wonder your tired. The real question is, how are you not dead? -

A Crazy Past Two Years- Grazing issue begun

^^^^^ This a million times! So sorry you're having a rough go!!! One rule I live by for nightly snacking is: 1. It has to have a protein or fiber component! (when I was in WLM I was very strict with this. Only a narrow list of snacks such as hard boiled egg, string cheese, meat rollup, raw veggies. Now that I'm in maintenance it also incluses 1/2 small GS apple + 1/2 oz raw nuts, more veggies lol, 1 tbsp nut butter and a gg brancrisp.) If you fill up on protein you will find it harder to eat more food. -

FluffyChix replied to Sandyyy's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
You need to up your protein hon. Exhaustion at this time is normal, but you do need to eat more and advance your diet as you tolerate. Try going to mushies or even thicker cream soups. Blended veggie soups work great at this time of year. ((hugs)) I wouldn't bother working out until you can get your diet and sleep taken care of. They are way more important to long term health. And if exhaustion continues, see the doc. They need to do blood work to see if you are low in anything. -
Protein and Weight Loss (unrelated)

Well, she's certainly within rights to make arbitrary fantasy rules for her practice, but scientifically this is a load of hooey. LOL. ALLLLLLLL macronutrients are cumulative as is calorie load, glycemic load, incretin load, protein load, etc. So. You do what you think is best. But if you apply her screwy logic to your diet, you are gonna be working super hard to get all that protein down and you will likely be over eating = slow weight loss. Protein drinks + protein in food = total daily protein. Most of our docs say 60-80g for women and 80-100g for men (from all sources-animal, mineral, vegetable). LOL. -
Gosh, like all of y'all I can eat fast! But then I would over-consume. So I try to make myself take 20 minutes at minimum (although I could probably eat my portions in 10minutes give or take). This is disturbing to me. Ha. I always usually portion my food by scale/volume so I only get what I get until the next meal. No seconds. Evs. It's a hard firm rule in my house these days. I don't often feel "full" and have quit trying to chase that full feeling. So my portion is just my portion and I doubt seriously that it makes my pouch expand to give the full signal. The GI dude said something disturbing in my last EGD, he said, you're wide open, so I wouldn't be overly concerned with staying within a portion size to keep from stretching out your pouch. That kinda said, your pouch through your stoma is wide open so food is just thru and thru. What do y'all think? I know RNY doesn't have a pyloric valve, but I think many of our anatomies are full stop open faucet from tummy to bowel.

Love this whole look!!!!! You are tiny!! Oh and for the record, after you surgery when you need some place to "park" you size 6's and 8's? Um, I've got room. Just sayin... bahahahaha!
-
Ha! I haven't been 130 since 4th or 5th grade! LOL.

No truer words hon! I thought I had Fatsgiving last year. I came back about 7-8lbs up from the holiday cuz I let snacky chips and carb crap back in for a weekend! Took me about 2 months to lose and I was so peeved! This year I know better. There is no magic bus. LOL. So I'm walkin' the thin line between now and feast meal! And gosh I would love to be on the other side of 130 lbs when that meal hits. LOL. I feel @Sheribear68's pain! The drugs will stall you out. Or at least they do me. I can gain 5lbs overnight from taking them. So I try to avoid them at all costs. Sorry you're back and neck are flaring hon. Take care of yourself!!! LOL at the cupcake. @sheribear68 your menu sounds good but I highly doubt you are in a 700-800 range. I'd bet you are closer to 500 hon. Maybe logging would be a good thing for you to do right now while trying to entertain maintenance?

Protein and Weight Loss (unrelated)
FluffyChix replied to lvidacovich's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Then I wouldn't say 100g is too much, but at 5'11" and your activity level you're probably closer to around 80-90g of protein per day. And the slim jims still have a ton of fibrous stuff. It causes your gut to have to churn and grind and that's not good. Just my 2 cents. Do you. -
You look gorgeous! Love that outfit and smile!

You're a male, right? To be 3 weeks PO and already eating things like beef sticks and jerky are not optimal. That is very new from surgery. At that time, I was only on soft foods stage, which a beef stick is not. I think if you're a dude, 100g is fine. Most are in a range from 80-100g per their docs. There is not usually a HUGE problem with protein malabsorption for RNYs and you had VSG, so even less issues. My surgeon said that the new bypasses don't have nearly as much malabsorption as previously believed...maybe 10%. But of course, there are outliers in all of us. Some of your stair stepping might be aggravated by the salt content in your food (beef sticks). But stairsteps are totes norm. -
Like I think @Healthy_life2 or another of the super athletes (can't remember) weigh more than they did but where a smaller size now than in high school...
